Governor Rick Perrys plan is based on a simple premise: Make what Americans buy. Buy what Americans make. And sell it to the world.

About time another candidate comes out with an actual plan, instead of jumping all over Cain’s.
Of course, I’ll believe it when I see it.
hm... it’s more bold than I would of expected from Perry, this might help him with those eager for major change.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

I still oppose radical changes to the tax code, preferring an incremental approach that won’t disrupt the economy and screw everybody who actually PLANS for their financial future.
But at least Perry isn’t saying the tax code is responsible for our problems, instead correctly labelling tax reform as an item which will improve future growth.
That’s good conservative stuff, albeit boiler-plate. Looking forward to some details.
This will position Perry to the right of everyone on stage in regards to taxes, which means everytime 999 gets brought up Perry will now will get votes, and it will make Romney look even more like more of the same.
Very smart move by Perry.
It is a shame Perry has been such a dud in the debates. Outside of immigration (which is admittedly a big issue), he is pretty much everything I want in a candidate.
It may be too late for him now through.
Looks like this texican rino is getting ready to get behind
Cain’s 999 plan
Art Laffer endorses 999

Thanks to Cain the tax system is finally in the forefront of American politics. Others have tried, but failed to get this kind of recognition. Perry’s hand has been forced. Let’s see where it all goes. What will Slick Mitt do?
Damn. Say what you want about HC, the man has totally shifted the debate. Would love to see a top tier of Cain & Perry debating what type of flat tax to employ.
Romney is a RINO and strikes me as an odd character. I have several Mormon friends. I love them all but I think that Romney's being a Mormon will hurt him. The Mormon Jesus is not the same Jesus most Americans follow. This will be used against him. Cain is great for the campaign but he has little cash and very little campaign structure beneath him. Newt is the most informed person around but he has been uber-flaky over the years. I first met Ron Paul when I was a kid and used to drive around with him from campaign stop to campaign stop, He was saying the same things back then that he does now. But, he is way too long in the tooth and is a little unbalanced. Bachmann is creepy-crazy and seems like she wants to jump on the nuke ala Slim Pickens, scream like a banchee and go for a ride. Santorum is the karaoke singer of the group. He has heard the tune, he knows the lyrics, but does not sound like the real deal. No star quality.
At this point I support Perry. We are a long way off and to go the distance the winner needs three things: Money, Money, Money. Money buys so many things crucial to a campaign for president. Media, people, data, electronics, etc. Perry has that and he is not Romney. It is not likely to happen but a Perry/Rubio ticket would be insane. If Perry is around in 90 days I would not be surprised to see Palin come out for him. It was obvious that they had been talking. Perry knew Palin was not going to run when he jumped in to the race.
Good news! Cain is driving the debate on taxes and the other candidates are shifting to the right. Thanks for the update.
sorry to tell you but if Cain goes down Conservatives will turn to Newt Gingrich to take on Romney then Obama not Perry.. Perry can’t put 4 words together without losing his train of thought
Good to hear that Perry is taking lessons from Cain!
It’s going to be interesting watching Perry supporters sell this.
They will be fighting the very lies they perpetuated on FR about Cain’s plan.
Welcome to conservatism, Governor Perry. It's nice to finally have you on board.
Perry will still have one of the same problems as Cain.
How to get the plan into law.
I hope Perry isn’t going to call on the “super committee” like Cain proposes in 999.
