Herman Cain acknowledges his electric border fence idea isn't a joke after all

PHOENIX - After first apologizing for suggesting an electric fence along the border, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain told reporters here Monday that he still thinks it's a good idea for controlling illegal immigration.

"I'm not walking away from that," he said.

Cain has spent the last several days explaining a controversial comment about building an electrified fence along the U.S. - Mexico border that he said could kill people trying to enter the country illegally. On Sunday, he said his comments were "a joke." But talking to reporters here after a meeting here with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who has made a national reputation for cracking down on illegal immigrants, Cain reversed course.

Initially Cain apologied when told his remarks had upset some in the state. "Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa," he said, using the Latin formula for expressing contrition. But when a reporter challenged his description of his comments, saying he didn't seem to be telling a joke, the retired pizza executive acknowledged: "You're right." He said he still believes in the need for a border fence "and it might be electrified."

Cain’s got a good idea there——but landmining the border is cheaper and more effective than an electrified fence.

This will make you nauseous-—in her autobio, actress Florence Henderson (The Brady Bunch) recounts the tale of her “Central American” housekeeper who dutifully sent her paychecks back home to her husband who, she said, was caring for their children in Columbia (or Honduras) so she could make a “better life” in the US.

One day the senora went to the utility company to pay her bill. As she sat and waited for her name to be called, she heard a familiar name.

She turned and was shocked to see her husband go up to pay his bill.

She later discovered he had sneaked into the US, was living with another woman, and had someone in Columbia intercept her checks and send them to him in the US.

God only knows how many identities these two illegals had, each of them riding the US gravy train.

Giuliani is viewed as scum around here........obnoxious 2008 Giuliani supporters were zotted en masse.

Perry's supporters tout him as a "real conservative".....but conservatives aren't buying it.

Gov Perry endorsed 2008 Giuliani with much fanfare---the Mayor contributed to PP, was NARAL guest speaker and marched in gay parades under pedophile-Man-Boy Lover banners.

The son of the Liberal Party honcho (who endorsed Giuli for Mayor)--got a top city job and proceeded to steal as much as he could, went on trips with gay friends with city money and later went to jail for being a pedophile.

When Giuli dumped his wife, he moved in with a gay couple. Giuli wanted to kick his kids into the streets and move his mistress into the Mayor's manse.

Later it was discovered Giuli financed his mistress with city funds hidden in obscure govt agencies.

Giuli made his mistress head of his 9/11 Foundation that exited with some $10 million (that we know of). Giuli was publicy shamed into sharing some of the money with spouses of 9/11 victims who were city employees.

“You mean the guy who was an Air Force Captain and pilot. That guy seems out of place in that picture?”

Damn right, it looked just like to Dukakis - at least to me (i.e., all huff, no puff).

“You know it’s bad when Herman Cain’s changing policy positions aka jokes, are both showing on the FR site thread roll column.”

What really sucks is for the people against him...they don’t know how to aim their fire. I can only imagine the conflicting E-Mail flood the reporters must have gotten from you guys. Half of them probably quit in disgust (hmmm, not bad then).

You and about 3 other guys keep exposing yourselves as unreasonable fanatical Perry haters. If you weren't so over the top you might even be able to convince people but you can't help yourselves.

Here's a hint:

Perry doesn't come off as a disgusting human being as one of your boys said.

He looks like an Air Force Pilot and he belongs in that helicopter.

He is not a rapist, porno loving homosexual or oily preacher.

He's a successful governor of a successful state and he has been for 10 years and in that 10 year record he has made a few bad decision.

Naa, we already have...

http://race42012.com/2011/10/18/poll-watch-ppp-d-ohio-2012-republican-primary-survey-2/

Our job is mostly done for this primary season - we just don’t want him to zombie-up on us if Cain has trouble (we’d much rather have Newt then). But a really good test will be see what Perry does for the next few months. He has a TON of hard money (that he’s burning through very quickly, btw) and can become a kind of king-maker (sort of like Jim DeMint, but for open-borders) - or maybe run for Senate some day. But if he simply stays in to hand Romney the nomination, then he’s FINISHED as far a viable politician, at least with conservative Texans.
