Obama Approval 43% & 39% Say He Deserves 2nd Term

UTICA, NY--Herman Cain is now the runaway leader among Republican presidential primary voters with 45%, more than twice that of second-place Mitt Romney (21%). Rick Perry, who led with 41% in late August, has fallen to 7%, and Michele Bachmann, who led in June and July, now gets just 1%.

President Barack Obama's approval rating among all voters is 43%, and the percentage saying he deserves re-election is 39%.

These results are from an IBOPE Zogby interactive poll conducted from Oct. 11-14.

Cain appears to have won support of voters who previously supported Perry or Bachmann. Romney's 21% is the highest we have shown for him in match-ups with the current field of announced candidates.

Republican Candidates (asked only of the party's primary voters)

If the Republican primary for president were held today, for whom would you vote?

You are right. If Cain can hold up, and even gain strength and energy as the media, The Obamanation campaign and the GOP gang up on him, then he will be our next president.

This shows big donor money isn’t always what wins campaigns. Cain only raised $1 Million vs. Perry’s $17 Mill & Romney’s $14 Mill.

It’s way early but the Herminator has got to be feeling mighty good right now! :D

The ones farthest back should drop out soon. But I think we need to keep at least one more in until the last possible moment.

There needs to be a std bearer available to run against Romney until the last possible moment, in case Cain slips up.

The reason I say this is because conservatives will NOT vote for Romney so although the RINOs are voting for Romney, there are more of us. The reason I don’t bash Romney but bash Perry ALL THE TIME and will continue to do so is because conservatives will vote for Perry fraud, but won’t vote for Romney. So since we are all on the same page as Romney there is zero reason to bash him as he is a big zero loser who won’t get a single vote from conservatives. That nasty Perry who is a big illegal alien lover has some folks on the site that have been hit by their love of illegal aliens which goes along with Ricardo so they support him.....those insane folks are the ones that need to see the light and vote for a conservative and that is Cain!!!!!

Romney and Perry can hang it up.

All you Romney and Perry supporters will be wise to transfer your allegience--and resources--to the next President of the U.S.A.: Herman Cain.

My choice of a Vice President is Newt Gingrich.

A Cain/Gingrich ticket will be just peachy.

Yeah, I agree. I was kind of thinking they should drip in regular intervals. This would allow for Cain’s numbers to keep going up as each candidate drops out. It might prevent a ‘flatline’ if you know what I mean. Save Gingrich for last.

“If Mr. Cain becomes the nominee (I’d say his chances right now are less than 50/50), 2012 is going to parallel one or the other of two previous election years:
1. 1980, or
2. 1964.”

I understand, but I don't think the parallels for 1964 will be there. Following the assassination of Kennedy, Johnson achieved a lot of legislation by playing on the sympathies of the American people for passing legislation that Kennedy would have “approved”.

Johnson was not as far at the bottom of the barrel as Obama. Cain has so far been able to respond quickly and concisely to any mis-information (More like Reagan than Goldwater). Plus the LSM is just not as effective selling their propaganda as they were back then.

The Internet did not exist in those past elections. Mr. Cain may not win, but I don't think there could possibly be a landslide for Obama, except for huge election fraud.

Sorry, Michele. It was great while it lasted but... It’s over. It’s not you, it’s me. Really. It’s over. I hope you’ll understand someday.

She'll be at your doorstep tomorrow complaining "You don't call me any more - I know we can work this out!!!"

Looks like “flavor of the month” Romney is no longer a flavor, if he ever was....

Now.........if Romney would just finally drop-out, we'd have a clear-cut Candidate for the entire GOP.

Go Mr. Cain!!!

Even more amazing is that nobody has dug anything up he has already said as a radio host. I can’t believe there isn’t an off the cuff remark or bad joke in those archives somewhere.

Anyone know why the Real Clear Politics web site does not include the IBOPE Zogby poll?

They always resort to calling people “liar.” I’ve gotten the same smear. Wear it as a badge of honor, my friend.

So what will Mitt's stalking horse do when the time comes? Turn all his delegates over to Mitt so that Mitt gets the nomination?

I'm hoping you will eventually drift back to "Reality Land".

You are attesting to alleged facts for which there is ZERO evidence.

Well, that was rude, but Lazamataz will be Lazamataz.

His messing around isn't going to make me angry with him, so I really don't know why he got upset about your calling me to his interesting flirtation.

He's my friend, and I'm happily married, so it's a non-issue. I do think he's a great guy (thus he is my friend), sharp as a whip, crazy like a fox, and one of the more politically savvy FReepers.

It's fun to see people underestimate him. When they do, he wins every time. I love it.
