Heh.
We already have sheep, goats, chickens and a large garden. My kids do their fair share, and they’re home schooled.
We pay taxes for a school system we have no intention of using. 85% of my exorbitant property tax is for the schools.
I think what we need to do is CUT SPENDING, NOT RAISE TAXES.
Amen to the cuts in taxes and spending.
I’m also glad to hear you’re raising kids who will have a connection to the land and know where their food comes from. Furthermore, I don’t have the disposition to homeschool but respect those who do immensely. I’m in about the same boat on the property taxes since our kids attend a private, Christian-based academy. About the only benefit I get from local taxation is grading the dirt road that goes by our little farm.
I don’t believe 9-9-9 will hurt anyone all that badly except for the free riders who need some skin in the game. Moving to a low tax state would be a good move for you, although I realize the inconveniences that can impose from personal experience.
Hey, at least you already have a moving crew! LOL
Good luck with all that.
