Amen to the cuts in taxes and spending.

I’m also glad to hear you’re raising kids who will have a connection to the land and know where their food comes from. Furthermore, I don’t have the disposition to homeschool but respect those who do immensely. I’m in about the same boat on the property taxes since our kids attend a private, Christian-based academy. About the only benefit I get from local taxation is grading the dirt road that goes by our little farm.

I don’t believe 9-9-9 will hurt anyone all that badly except for the free riders who need some skin in the game. Moving to a low tax state would be a good move for you, although I realize the inconveniences that can impose from personal experience.

Hey, at least you already have a moving crew! LOL

Good luck with all that.

I’ll be voting for Cain, anyway. I don’t see anybody better, nor do I think any of them has a chance to beat the descendent of Mahometan African slave traders that currently occupies the White House.

We have to grade and plow our own road. It’s “class VI”, which means the town does not maintain it. We’ve had to repair two total washouts in recent years.

NH does not have sales tax, nor income tax. As bad as our property taxes are, at least they are not compounded by other taxes. I’ve done the math, and we are better off in NH tax-wise than in any state other than Alaska.

I have thought of moving to Brazil, however. Yeah, they’re communist, but they don’t enforce like they do here. People are much more live-and-let-live there than they are here. This country is filled with lunatic, meddling busybodies who just won’t leave you alone.

If the U.S. ever goes full-out commie, and we are on the precipice of that, then living here will be like living in a giant gulag.
