BATON ROUGE President Barack Obama is supported by slightly more than one-third of Louisiana voters and would be easily beaten in the state by Republican contenders Rick Perry or Mitt Romney, according to a new poll released Thursday.Obama's approval ratings in Louisiana are below his favorability ratings nationally. But Louisiana's backing of the tea party political movement also is strong. The Clarus poll shows 46 percent of voters surveyed support the tea party, while 30 percent opposed it.
..When Republican voters were questioned about who they supported for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, Perry, the Texas governor, was in the lead with 23 percent of the vote. Next was former pizza company executive Herman Cain with 21 percent, former Massachusetts Gov. Romney with 17 percent and the remaining field far behind.

2005 Houston Astrodome
Hurricane Katrina redistributed over one million people from the central Gulf coast elsewhere across the United States, which became the largest diaspora in the history of the United States. Houston, Texas, had an increase of 35,000 people;.................source
Texas did absorb a lot of people from LA and I’ve heard they are doing really well in Texas.
Every time I see a Perry post, coincidentally (surprise surprise) its posted by you.
Note: Cain is two points behind Perry in this poll.
Cain is running first or second in virtually every race.
I empathize with your enthusiasm.
Its just I don’t want MORE OF THE SAME.
GO CAIN!
That State is now strongly GOP.
Be sure to check out Gov. Perry posts by “smoothsailing,” “Clairity,” “shield,” “ CA Conservative,” “hocndoc,” “DRey,” “normy,” “mylife,”.......and others.
Remember how the Democrats squealed about losing their New Orleans citizens?
And like Rick Perry in Texas, Scott Walker in Wisconsin, Bobby Jindal is a strong conservative governor for Louisiana.
Are you ok with middle class taxes going up?
And do you think that a national sales tax will be good for the economy?
The Christian Science Monitor did an analysis of what various income groups would pay. Someone making $20,000 a year, who now pays 13 percent tax rate would pay 17 percent. Someone making $55,000 go from 17 to 18 percent. Someone making $300,000 would go from 28 percent to 16 percent.
This is the analysis of the Christian Science Monitor, Mr. Cain, that the poor and middle class pay more. The rich pay a lot less.
I dont understand how Cain is more conservative than Perry.
His 999 plan would make middle America and Low Wage Americans pay more in taxes plus including food while the wealthy would be paying considerably less. In addition, it would take an act of Congress to do it.
Why or how is that conservative?
And, his immigration stance is exactly the same as Perrys.
Ok, I agree that is conservative but no more than Perry.
He endorsed Romney in 2008 and has hinted that he would support a VP position in a Romney Presidency.
How is that Conservative?
He is against auditing the Fed Reserve, later changing that but said it was not a priority and thinks Greenspan was the best?
Perry has been very outspoken against the Fed Reserve and Bernanke. Took heat for too.
How is Cain more conservative with that position?
Cain said if Perry was the GOP nominee, he would not support him.
Who is he going to vote for? Obama?
Cain endorsed Tarp and he said nationalizing banks
is not a bad thing and no valid criticism had been
brought forward of the extraordinary intervention in the economy.
How is that conservative?
Regardless of the lies all over the internet, Perry was against Tarp. I have the letter (not the one his opponents point to but the actual one where he laid it clearly).
And in his interview with George S. this morning he was VERY CLEAR there would be NO BAILOUTS under a President Perry. Asked even if they were too big to fail - he said even if they were too big. No Europe bailout, no Greece and no GE bailout.
I believe Cains 999 plan would kill the economy because people will simply stop spending money on things they do not need.
And lastly:
No one brings up that Cain was named in the lawsuit regarding Aquila Board of Directors. And this has been omitted in his bio on website.
There were 5 lawsuits in 2004 against Aquila Board of Directors in which Cain and other Company Officials were listed. The suits mingled into one class action lawsuit
and settled in 2005 for 10.5 million
The Violation: federal law requiring that employers manage employees retirement programs responsibly had been violated.
A very interesting post. I will need to look into this. If true, I would go with Perry over Cain.
Yep, I remember. I understand that the greatest portion of them are doing really well in Texas and wouldn’t go back if you paid them.
How is it conservative when half the country PAYS NO TAXES.
What happened to equal protection under the law.
The government decides who pays and who doesn’t.
How is that fair?
the poor still have subsidized food housing education day care cell phones. All these are tax exempt.
Look it up. I did.
Cain was exonerated.
No is no THERE there.
l
Also, Cain has only 60% name recognition, versus over 80% for both Romney and Perry. Can you imagine the lead Cain will have when given more exposure?
Not that I'm accepting your premise, but assuming its true, Its about friggin time everyone had to contribute. This bulls$hit of having 47% of the workforce not paying any federal taxes is crap.
Quoting a left wing rag to damage conservative ideas? I’ll listen to Art Laffer, Paul Ryan and other brilliant economic minds on our side.
Second, the tax burden needs to go down on our job producers and up on the 47% who pay nothing or get money back out of our tax system. I am not sold on 999, but it is a serious proposal and a lot closer to right than what we have now.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Personally, I think Perry would be a bigger improvement but that's not dissing Cain.
Cain has basically gotten a free ride but should he maintain the high polling numbers he’ll be vetted like he’s never been before. That needs to be done and let the light shine on his past whether it’s good, bad or indifferent.
The funding for the federal gov’t is complicated to say the least. I’m not sure that there is a simplistic answer nor am I sure the Congress is ready to move towards a major revamping. Cain can’t do a thing about it if the Congress doesn’t go along.
The popular vote people are running anti-Perry ads.
