Gov. Perry Unveils Jobs Plan (FULL TRANSCRIPT)
Cypress Times ^ | Oct 14, 2011 | Rick Perry

Pittsburgh: Gov. Rick Perry's Full Remarks on Energizing American Jobs

The central issue facing Americans is a lack of jobs.

The plan I present this morning, Energizing American Jobs and Security, will kick-start economic growth and create 1.2 million jobs.

It can be implemented quicker and free of Washington gridlock because it doesn't require congressional action. Through a series of executive orders, and other executive actions, we will begin the process of creating jobs soon after the inauguration of a new president.

The quickest way to give our economy a shot in the arm is to deploy American ingenuity to tap American energy. But we can only do that if environmental bureaucrats are told to stand down.

Thanks. I’ll have time to read it before Rush.

Rush should have some comments and perhaps excerpts.

And right here in Pennsylvania, and across the state line in West Virginia and Ohio, we will tap the full potential of the Marcellus Shale and create another 250, 000 jobs by getting the EPA out of the way. While Marcellus shale is today’s opportunity, the deeper Utica shale formations offer equally vast potential with more jobs over the horizon for Pennsylvania and its neighbors.

Someone should let the Governor know that we are doing this already. What exactly is his point here? Is he piggybacking on things that are already being done to pad his proposal?

Take a look at Obama’s executive orders — it would take years just to reverse those:

Obama signed 94 EOs so far.

See this link for number of EOs of past presidents:

Tap our domestic energy resources, curtail the EPA, create jobs.

Perry just displayed his ignorance. The EPA works at the whim of a cabal between agency personnel and green NGOS. The latter subsist off the donations of tax-exempt "charitable" corporate foundations (you know, the guys who give Perry money). They operate under the "authority" of the Federal courts, which ORDER the agencies the implement the NGO plan.

Hence, Perry will be able to do very little without defying said court orders, which is of course not mentioned in his plan.

>> “How is Perry going to debate Obama? How’s he going to do that?” <<

.
He can hire Palin to feed the answers to his teleprompter.

Later he can appoint her as chief of staff, and go on a four year vacation in Mazatlan.

You are putting too much importance on the debates. Being a good debater does not qualify someone to be President because a President does not enact polices in 30 seconds sound bites and does not negotiate with Congress in 3 seconds zingers, Presidents do not govern by debates. Eventually people, including political junkies, are going to get bored of the stupid debates a there are 13 more debates left.

At the end elections are not won or lost in stupid debates with 30 seconds responses and 3 second zingers but through hard day to day campaigning, speeches, meeting with voters, political ads, get out the vote, and not to forget raising a lot of money. If debates are what the political junkies made them to be then there is no need for the campaigning and instead just have a series of debates and then we go to the polls but in the real world of politics and elections it is not the case and will never be the case.

With FACTS, not BS.

The one question I want to hear Zero explain is WHY he refused to accept a letter from Perry for help on border security?

If he can actually articulate his plan, perhaps he can get back into the game, but his poor choice of words, *you dont have a heart* hurt him badly with conservatives. Those words have stuck, because liberals have bashed us to near death with that very invective for decades.

The government doesn’t create jobs. However, the government can put a halt to all the blank checks they’re handing out like candy to our friends and enemies alike. Stop the outgo, the internal will fix itself.

....There is, of course, an important role for Congress to play. And in a matter of days I will offer to the American people a broader package of economic reforms that I will take to Congress when I am elected President. My complete economic growth package will tackle tax reform, entitlement reform and real spending reductions in order to address our growing debt crisis.

But today I offer a plan that will create more than a million good, American jobs across every sector of the economy and enhance our national security, and the best news is it can be set in motion in my first 100 days.

My plan is based on this simple premise: Make what Americans buy, buy what Americans make, and sell it to the world.....

Take a look at Obama’s executive orders — it would take years just to reverse those:

And lookie, lookie, you're already supplying the excuses because you KNOW this is a pant-load. MBPBTP

It takes (count 'em) ONE EO to reverse all of Barack Obama's EOs.

Absolutely outstanding address by Perry. He is right on the money.

He needs to memorize this stuff and pound the opposition with details.

He is also absolutely correct about the near immediate jobs that would result from a change in energy policy.

I’m well aware of obammy’s use of the EO, however, just because we have one prez who’s corruption knows no ends does not mean I want anther one on the other end of the spectrum.

Government doesn’t create jobs outside of the service sector, which the government is, a service industry. That concept is lost on most people, usually those who profit by using and abusing the government for fun and profit. There’s a reason why the term “civil servant” exists. They serve at our (meaning We The People, who pay the bills) leisure. If you don’t deliver, we kick your ass to the curb.

All you say are indeed major obstacles — although I think you are overstating no. 2 — , but don’t count out Perry. He did great in his speech. I just couldn’t find a video.

He can debate fine, when he is asked a question and allowed to answer it, instead of a barrage of attacks with hardly any time to respond and having everyone gang up on him, like the Lilliputians on Gulliver. That’s not a debate, that is a “gotcha barrage”.

And as you said a while ago in one of your posts, that I liked: We want Perry to do for the US what he has done for Texas. And that is the bottom line.
