The cleanup of a plaza in lower Manhattan where protesters have been camped out for a month was postponed early Friday, sending cheers up from a crowd that had feared the effort was merely a pretext to evict them.
Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway said the owners of the private park, Brookfield Office Properties, had put off the cleaning, scheduled for 7 a.m. More than hour beforehand, supporters of the protesters had started streaming into the park, creating a crowd of several hundred chanting people.
A confrontation between police and protesters, who had vowed to stay put through civil disobedience, had been feared. Boisterous cheers floated up from the crowds as the announcement of the postponement circulated, and protesters began polling each other on whether to make an immediate march to Wall Street, a few blocks away.

Unless they are practicing their tactics and working the bugs out for when they begin in ernest, this "movement" when examined closely makes no sense.
What it should do is send a warning that when they are sent to where we are, we are on our own as far as dealing with them goes. We can count on no one but ourselves.
And make no mistake, they are coming.
A side story to this sham in NYC is that Bloomberg is not supporting his Police Chief,Ray Kelly.Having personaly been in this tiny 300’X100’ non-park on Thursday,I believe Ray Kelly a very competent Police Chief could clear the grassless private property in less than 1 hour.
This is what obama meant when he said “we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America”.
This blueprint for organizing has been in place since before the election of 2008. Such a coincidence (NOT) that this is happening as we head into the next election?
It is naive to think that this is nothing but a bunch of rabble rousing youth.

I just hope they start to get dysentery, cholera, typhus, etc., all of the diseases that plagued, and often destroyed, medieval armies.
Doomberg needs to be flooded with emails and letters saying that nobody in their right mind would want to visit NY under these circumstances, or the mentality that allowed it to prevail. NYC relies on Tourism, and this on top of the bedbugs can be a serious health issue. Tourism in NYC should flat line.
You are absolutely on target - This scenario does not make sense and whatever is going on behind the scenes is truly sinister.
Bloomberg is clearly in cahoots with the higher up socialists orchestrating this - remember the golf outing with Obama?
Bloomberg as mayor of NYC is supposed to be putting the needs of the people of his city as his first priority, not prioritizing the protection of a random mobs’ right of free speech. Many of this mob do not even live in NYC. Sure we have the right to free speech, but this right is balanced with residents’ rights to a noise free, clean environment, which the mayor is supposed to be taking seriously. There are city ordinances in place that could have easily been enforced early on, if the mayor actually cared about his residents and businesses.
- If the financial district were to be shut down - there goes a huge chunk of NYC’s revenue. How would a bona fide mayor let this happen?
- The residents and business owners are complaining of noise, stink ,etc. Why is the mayor ignoring the needs of his own constituents in favor of the protestors?
- When are NYC taxpayers going to realize that they are footing the 2 million+ overtime bill for the police? Do hard working New Yorkers really want to finance this rabble?
As you said - it makes no sense and therefore I smell a very large RAT in the background of all this.
This mess is NOT spontaneous. I may sound too conspiracy oriented, but there is no way this is not being orchestrated by higher up communists with money trying to bring this country down by the use of anarchy.
Want to watch Bloomberg handcuff the whole crowd and drag them away?
That’s easy — we dress up like moslems (in turbans + burkas), stroll up to Zuccotti Park, and announce “We intend to build a mosque... right HERE.”
Bloomberg would have the park clear in 10 minutes, and he’d be pouring the concrete foundation for the new mosque 4 hours later.
I saw a pic of demonstrators cleaning up.
If it is accurate, maybe it’s the first time any of them have had a ‘job’ or actually ‘worked’.
Maybe it will catch on with them.
I am sure they picked New York not only because of the presence of Wall Street, but because it is run by PC libs who they were sure they could roll.
No kidding!
Hell, Bloomburg probably was in on the planning.
you and I both wish the same.
They were asked what would it taker to stop them living there and they replied, nothing.
This isn’t a movement or protest, this is just the degenerates from society , you know those kids at school who never fitted in? , The kind of person who is always on the fringe of society .
The weirdo’s have all come together trying to convince themselves they’re normal, they have friends now.
the smell, the stench, the filth they have created and living in is just sick, disgusting, unhealthy and most certainly a cost to tax payers.
Or we can tell him we spotted several members of OWS smoking cigarettes in the park.
***...sending cheers up from a crowd that had feared the effort was merely a pretext to evict them.****
Too bad the weather is not warm enough for cholera and Typhoid to clear out the rabble.
Brilliant.. post of the day winner for sure.
The wrong guy just blinked, for sure. Disgusting. Are they waiting for a ‘plague’ to erupt or what? Am guessing -that someone from Obama’s ‘home team’ called Bloomberg. Hey, maybe even Soros had his reasons to make a call.
