"...It probably irks Mitt to have to discuss his faith in this way, but the Mormon debate could be of net benefit to his campaign.
...True, there is a small but significant minority who say they would never vote for a Mormon. According to Gallup, its around 22 percent of the population. But opposition to Mormonism doesnt come from conservative Evangelicals or Catholics. On the contrary, Gallups polls show that its a liberal thing. Only 7 percent of Baptists and Catholics wouldnt vote for a Mormon, compared with 32 percent of gays and 49 percent of atheists. Amusingly, the figure is also much, much higher among Mormons, at 22 percent. Thats right, 22 percent of Mormons would never vote for a Mormon. Perhaps they know something we dont."

If you wear magic underwear, you are in a cult.
Yes indeed kingu....Romney s tracks are in step with the Mormon political agenda for our country...though he would not identify so. But those quite familiar with Mormon doctrine can spot these similarities very easily, even though they are deceptively presented.
FR is very fortunate to have former members of LDS her who always offer a wealth of information and can attest to the deception Romney and his church mask themsleves with....they lived it!
Given the political climate today I’m interested in hearing more about the Mormon’s agenda to place a one- world government under their leadership. Unfortunately there are many Mormons already in our governments...basically waiting for Romney to take the reins IMO.
CFP is a crock, as is WND.
If you want to be effective, you've got to get real.
Romney is probably a MINO (Morman in Name Only) just like his is a RINO.
accusing people of “bigotry” if they question these beliefs, is an effort to stop exposing them
Got to admit I don’t want a muslim or a scientologist or an atheist as president of the US, and am not comfortable with what I am reading about mormonism
and yes, that discomfort affects my confidence in who I select as President
and personally felt a cult-like quality to mormonism since dating one who was eager to convert me ... strange fellow, very ardent, strange beliefs, very uncomfortable feeling
I am getting tired of people who shut down debate and accuse others of “bigotry” if you reject their beliefs. Puh leeze. Same tack used by the pro-gay marriage crowd.
Good strategy on Perry’s part (if he had anything to do with it). I don’t think it will hurt his campaign, but it did open up the topic of Mormonism. That question might give a few pause, which could impact a close race.
Well, I try not to get into this too often. (I mean, who really wants to talk about their underwear?)
But, here, you all can go direct to the source -- the official magazine of the Mormon church -- Ensign Magazine. They saw fit to include mention in this The Doctrine of Temple Work (Mormonism - Open) in October 2003.
I posted that article excerpt last October because of its occultic associations...[October being a month linked with the Occult due to its Halloween association].
Per the Mormon author, Elder David E. Sorensen: ...One of the great privileges we have is the wearing of the garment...The garment, when properly worn, will serve as a protection against temptation and evil. It is expected that members will wear the garment both night and day...Members should not adjust the garment or wear it contrary to instructions in order to accommodate different styles of clothing...The garment should not be removed for activities which might reasonably be done with the garment worn beneath the clothing...
See even how legalistically -- micro-manage-like -- Mormon leaders are about their members' underwear? I mean they micro-manage their members underwear down to...
...having them wear it 24/7...
...they can't adjust the underwear "contrary to instructions" -- even for wardrobe alignment reasons...
...and it can't be removed "for activities which might reasonably be done with the garment worn beneath the clothing..."
And all this because they believe this underwear is a "protection" vs. "evil???" Hmmm....
And who says Mormonism isn't a cult?
(Ripliancum...Saundra Duffy...care to share how this underwear has helped you avoid "temptation" and "evil?" Any testimonies there? Any ever given @ testimony meetin's?)
“I agree with what Bill Bennett said at the Values Forum Summit to Pastor Jeffress.
“You did Rick Perry no good, sir, in what you had to say,” “
I don’t see where this pastor said anything all that controversial. Essentially, all he said (and I’m paraphrasing) is that “all other factors being equal, if given a choice between a Christian and non-Christian, I’ll choose the Christian.” Have we become that politically correct (even on the right) that we can’t prefer to vote for someone who shares the same faith as us.
Oh-and if you think what this pastor said is bad, then I suppose you and Mr Bennett must be totally outraged at remarks said by the candidate himself (Herman Cain) that he would never appoint a Muslim to his cabinet or a Catholic that is loyal to the Pope. Should Mr Cain be allowed to choose people he shares similar values with, or is he also a religious bigot?
How about accusing the entire GOP Southern base of bigotry?
Not so. An Lds bishop's daughter, Tricia Erickson, has written a book about Romney -- Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters? Erickson was on CNN in July and said:
Mitt
held
offices of
Missionary, Missionary Zone Leader, assistant to
Mission President
,
Bishop and Stake President
You cannot attain the calling
to serve as Mormon Bishop or Stake President unless you are a thoroughly entrenched and obedient Mormon
I was
a Mormon Bishops daughter.

The CNN interview goes into detail what the oath of allegiance Romney & other temple Mormons have given. It's available from other sources that people can quote as well.
This is EXACTLY correct and will be devastating.
The day after Romeny were to become the nominee, one would find a top of the fold, column in the WaPo and NYT that was just an “informative “ piece on the origins and beliefs of the LDS church. This would of course appear to be perfectly reasonable ( not ‘bigoted’ or ‘intolerant’, you know). It would calmly touch on some of the ‘differences’ that those crazed, mean, fundamentalists think make Mormonism a “cult”.
Now you who think that this happened to JFK and afterall if Mormons say they are Christian well then they are had better go take a serious look at just what the left can and will do with the facts that will be theirs for the taking. Yeah, yeah, I got it: “ but we do not really believe those things ( anymore), “that is a distortion of our theology”. Nah, the truth will out: and although this will be a good thing as it is always a healthy thing to expose falsehoods, it will be a decidedly bad thing for the republicans stuck with a very flawed candidate.
Exactly. Even CNN pointed out in an article Friday:
In fact, a website maintained by the Southern Baptist Convention lists the Mormon faith under its "New Religions and Cults" section, which also includes Jehovah's Witnesses and the Church of Scientology.
Source, CNN, Oct. 7 Conservative pastor on Romney: Don't vote for a Mormon
IOW, this was a Baptist pastor citing obvious Baptist -- and Christian -- stances.
I mean Romney's religion -- that includes Ripliancum's and Saundra Duffy's religion -- believes all Christian sects are "apostate" full of "corrupt" professors who believe 100% creeds of "abomination."
Where's the headlines on that reality?
The MEdia will ensure it becomes an issue with blacks too, as the Mormon church’s’ history on racial teachings becomes fodder for public discussion
I find it odd how Herman Cain got his shorts in a wad over Perry’s “racism” because of a name painted on a rock 30 years ago by the owners of a leased ranch, yet sees nothing wrong with being a VP to Romney when 30 years ago his skin color marked him to mormons as evidence of original sin and a “son of Cain”
I'm stealing this as my new tagline for a while. (A compliment to the word chef)
Picking his battles. Good for him.
I've said most of the following before, and I'll say it again:
A POTUS goes beyond administrative duties. Discernment is a very important character trait...and that's not listed as a POTUS duty.
Examples then of how these other-worldly worldviews mixed with character issues @ the application level:
* How a Heaven's Gate follower adhered to the belief that extraterrestials would be visiting them is the issue (not that he or she's a Heaven's Gate follower).
* Or how well a David Koresh follower stuck with him endurance-wise is the key issue--not the fact that they followed Koresh.
* Or how well a Jim Jones follower adhered to koolaid-drinking instructions is the key character issue, not the fact that they were in the jungle with Jones to begin with.
* Or that Mitt Romney thinks the White House is a career move to the White Throne as a new god is the key character issue -- sharing worship from beings, reception of prayer, and glory with God, not the fact that he is simply a member of a certain church.
Sounds like an earthly version of the Armor of God in Ephesians 6:10 - 18.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lords people.
If Romney is the primary winner, I will definitely write in Palin’s name come the general.
