Palestinian Authority terrorists continued their attacks on innocent Jewish motorists over Yom Kippur, this time attacking a woman in labor and her husband as they rushed to the hospital.
Pennsylvania lynch attempt! Those darn Amish!
Oh, wait....
I hate the PA designation for the Palestinians too. I always swerve into these threads thinking something weird happened at home.
To think there are stupid people in our own country who want Shariah, at least for Muslims. Of course, radical Muslims want it for everybody.
Jewish motorists?? Yom Kippur?? What do the Sages say about this?
IFAIK modern Orthodox would not have a problem driving a pregnant woman in labor to a hospital, or telephoning for an ambulance for her, on a holiday or sabbath. Actions otherwise forbidden would be allowed if the likely result would be to save a life.
Ritchie,
If you re-read the article, you will note that the woman was in labor. The Torah teaches us that life is sacred, and, as a result, the preservation of life is commanded of us, and is therefore more important than any holiday or Shabbat.
That is why the Israeli army is the most cautious army in the world, and drops flyers from helicopters warning the arabs they need to leave an area, and often compromises their own soldiers in the process of being so careful.
It is also why Jewish doctors save the lives of arab children in Israeli hospitals, free of charge, if the parents cannot pay. It is also why we are commanded to feed our animals when we rise, before we feed ourselves. Only HaShem creates life, therefore, life is sacred. It is not for humans to abuse, neglect, or jeopardize. In a situation where one takes a life, it cannot be done without good reason.
Although women have delivered at home with midwives, or in safe places, throughout the ages, the mortality rate for both mother and newborn was exceptionally high. Hospitals and modern medical care have reduced the mortality rate, substantially.
Therefore, taking one’s wife, or any other woman in labor to a hospital, or any other medical emergency, is not in breach of Halacha ( Jewish Law). You are in fact, doing exactly what the Torah teaches a Jew to do.
The PA was just practicing what their religion teaches them which is death. Islam is Satans answer to Christianity and Judaism. 666 is considered a lucky number in Islam. Why? Because Mohammed was born in the year 666 not 570. Deceit is the devils greatest weapon. Christ was the Son of God. Mohammed was the Son of Lucifer. Think of it this way: Do you think Christians or Jews could ever find it in the hearts to do 1/1000th of the things Muslims do? But Muslims do it no problem because they’re hearts are in Satan not God.
How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! - Mat 24:19
I agree. I’m always fooled into thinking some atrocity happened in Pennsylvania.
In Israel the % of practicing Jews is 19%.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

I agree.
It would be a sin NOT to take her to the hospital.(JMHO)
On the other hand, the evil bastards who attacked her should burn in hell for an eternity.
I couldn’t agree more. At first I did think something terrible happened in PA.
I hope when we Freepers post about the Palestinian Authority that we spell it out from now on.
or at least use periods as in P.A.
I don’t know where you ever got those numbers, but it is incorrect. The majority of Jews who are, as you say “practicing” is far, far greater than 19%.
There are a number of sects in Judaism. Each with their own traditions and levels of Torah observance. The “Ultra-Orthodox”, in Israel are among the fastest growing in the population, just by birthrates alone. Most of the nation, approximately 75 % of the Jews, is comprised of Sephardim, and they are Orthodox Jews.
i dont get the “lynching” claim. nothing in the article talks about lynching and the couple never got out of the car. how do they know the PA was going to lynch them?
“Jewish motorists?? Yom Kippur?? What do the Sages say about this?”
That the preservation of life is among the greatest of mitzvah, and trumps most others.
Here, it was two lives: a woman a child.
