Go ahead, Occupy Wall Street until your heart is content, but could you please be a little more specific on who or what you are angry at? The Sell-side? The Buy-side? Financial advisors? Retail traders? Mutual funds? The Sales traders? The Execution traders? The Market makers? The flow traders? The Research analysts? The Quants? The High Frequency traders? The Administrative Assistants? The Human Resource departments? The IT departments? Prime Brokerage sales? The Risk Managers? I am confused.
Do you even know the difference between sell-side and buy-side? Or is it everyone you are angry at and just taking the lazy short-cut and calling the whole group Wall Street because you have failed, on your own, to take the time to really understand the industry you are protesting?
You do realize that is not much different then generalizing an entire population (and in this case, industry) because of the crimes or ethical miscues of a few.

No. Like their ex hippie parent(s), they just understand the “hey, look at me, will ya?” syndrome
Yet if you back through the democrat parties history there has always been a heavy anti-Wall Street mentality and rhetoric. All the ways back to the days of the Confederate democrats and the populist movements of the South.
The short answer to the question posed by the header is of course “hell no” they don’t understand it
I doubt they even realize that all of their apple i-Stuff is the product of a Wall Street firm that is very aware of their Wall Street “market cap” at all times.
Yep, they’re waiting for their “DREAM WOODSTOCK” to develope, ROFL. They heard about that “Happening” event all their lives from their mamas and papas, it’s their turn to wallow in the mud.
I would love to ask the trash demonstrating against Wall Street one financial question: “Would you pay more for a high interest bond or a low interest bond?”
The answer to that would be illustrative of their abysmal ignorance
You’re right. . the “hey, look at me, will ya?” syndrome. They just want to “make a difference”, and the only difference they’re making is leaving tons of garbage, urine and fecal matter on the streets in their wake when they finally tire of this latest result of “community organizing”.
Spot on!
That's right. But by 1968 the demonstrators owned the media.
I guess the author is not old enough to remember the 1960s spoiled brat Marxist-Alinsky campus "radicals" (they liked to call themselves.)
Just one of the many movements, the draft resisters movement leaders used the youths of the day. Now it's not the draft it's other things and there's even a much larger number of youths to be used.
BTW, the draft resister leaders condemned and burned their draft cards. Are the 99-percenters going to burn their financial obligations like student loans?
Useful Idiots
This is the term Karl Marx used to describe an uneducated mass of people that accomplished a goal of political puppetmasters unbeknownst to them. These people thought that they were carrying out good works that would better society, but in reality they simply were sold a bill of goods and duped into worsening their own societal position. Used and abused by a deceitful taskmaster
The communist organizers try to make these events/movements ‘hip’ and ‘trendy’ to attract young naive kids. And there are a LOT of young dopey people in New York City.
Understand Wall Street?
These children barely understand Sesame Street.
That’s because Democrats have always been idiots.
They don’t need to understand it.
All they need to do is convince 51% of the voting public that “you’re broke, you’re hurting, they got bailed out with your money, they are now richer than ever, and it’s NOT FAIR!”
(that whole part of “they took your bailout” leaves Wall Street particularly vulnerable this time)
Now that there is funny, I don't care who ya are!
Is Doug asking the slacker socialists to think? Not going to happen.
I work near the “Occupy Tampa” site and just got back from a stroll around their “huge” group of protesters. There were maybe 200, all white, mostly college age people sitting around on the grass. A few had the energy to walk around and carry a sign with some nonsensical diatribe written on it. I went there to take some photos of the freaks, but left disappointed. Losers.
....and feelin' groovy! "End the war, man!"
