Take it for what you will...posted on Mark's page just now: BREAKING: GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN TELLS MARK LEVIN SHE IS NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012.
You’re right, Wardaddy isn’t superior to you because he’s been here longer. He’s superior to you because when you compare posting histories, he’s a helluva lot smarter. Your history is short, and easy to read. In a nutshell, you’ve spent the better part of a year making one inaccurate prediction after another.
Hell, not just predictions, but declarative statements that have turned out to be false by dozens. If you were handicapping horses, you’d have been taking out behind the track and shot by now. Any six year old could have done better flipping a quarter.
In a nutshell, with your history of false predictions, you have zero credibility here, yet you’re threatening long term FReepers who have have records that indicate a much higher degree of intelligence.
Think about it, who do you think FR would rather keep? Wardaddy’s curmudgeony self, who’s often right, or your fan boy self who continually spouts lovesick nonsense that invariable doesn’t work out. After all, you assured everyone that Palin was running, with absolutely no room for error.
Then you had the electoral college getting involved in the Republican primary, and tossing out the voters nominee. Never mind that the EC plays no part in primary elections.
Even if you had the sense to say the GOP delegates were going to fly the bird to the voters, what kind of deluded thought process leads you to believe that the primary voters would sit down and take it? Hell, even if it were possible most would vote for Obama out of spite, and deservedly so.
Then there is the extra-constitutional position of ombudsman that wouldn’t survive the first legal challenge, and it would be over with quick.
So yeah, one of you IS superior, and clue time, it’s the one who occasionally makes sense.
The voters in the primaries select the nominees. Period.
You are an utter scumbag. You are feces in human form. You have nothing to redeem you. You do not belong on this forum, and I will ensure your removal.
If it comes down to Romney or Obama. I’d say we’re pretty much screwed.
wow! Talk about being classy.
FReepers should learn how to abuse from you. Why dont you start a training school?
And why am I not surprised to hear that ytou would abuse your privilege to get people zotted? That says more about your character than you might like to admit.
I have no doubt he shares your political views. That must make him superior./s
Lazmataz has sworn to get me zotted.
I wish to apologize before I leave, if I have offended you, on the Gardasil comment.
I'm glad you took this course of action. I'm standing down. When it comes to family of Freepers, we should go hands-off. They are innocent and not involved in the forum or our arguments.
To be fair, you did accidently blunder into that situation, and I did note that. It was an honest mistake. Its not the mistakes we make, but the responses to our mistakes, that define us.
I am not an moderator, and I have no special power to get anyone removed.
I also withdraw, and apologize, for my charecterization of you.
Good of you.
He has mine, too.
I was very open to a Cain candidacy before I learned of his response to the hunting lodge with the bad name that Perry and his father frequented. That reaction was, to me, indistinguishable from what we are used to hearing from "race pimps" such as Al Sharpton. I thought it was so unworthy of what I had thought to be a solid man of good judgment and character.
Plus I'm with xzins on the 9% sales tax: So long as the 16th amendment is on the books, the last thing I want is another federal revenue source that Congress can abuse on top of its abuses of the income tax that already exist. (I.e., it has more to do with social reengineering than it has to do with raising revenue.)
Plus evidently Cain either doesn't understand the federal Constitution, with its separation of powers as between the federal government, the states, and the people; or he doesn't support the originalist principles on which it is based which all conduce to the sovereignty and liberty of the people, to the rule of law, not of men. His statement to the effect that the RKBA is fundamentally a state matter screams of his ignorance of constitutional principles.
There are two fundamental qualifications that any candidate I can support for president must meet. (1) He/she must be of good character; (2) He/she must have a thorough understanding of the Constitution, and a profound respect for the originalist intentions and principles on which it was founded.
I think Cain makes the cut re: (1). But he's evidently totally clueless WRT (2).
And so, with all his warts, I strongly prefer Perry out of this field of candidates. Not even Ron Paul is more deeply schooled in constitutional principles and values. Paul seems to know "the letter" of the Constitution; but he's a total screwball in applying it, as we see (for instance) in his excoriation of the federal-government-ordered killing of Al Awlaki on grounds that he was a "U.S. citizen."
Oh really? Though born here of (non-citizen) Yemeni student parents, when was Al Awlaki ever a U.S. citizen in actual fact? When was Al Awlaki ever "subject to the jurisdiction of the United States?" When did he ever give his allegiance to the United States? Paul's reading of the Fourteenth Amendment is totally obtuse, IMHO. And totally "by the book" a "book" written by activist legal progressives, not constitutionalists.
Plus if Cain is calling for a Palestianian "right of return," I just find that totally naive. Such a thing is tantamount to calling for the destruction of Israel by other means. Is this how he would treat a close ally to allow it to be swallowed up in a demographic sea of people who detest Israel because it is a Jewish state?
Plus also evidently he's totally squishy on the social issues that I most care about: the right to life and the defense of marriage.
Cain is a successful man (deservedly so), charming and appealing and I do wish him well. But I do not want him to be my president.
Perry has considerable executive experience, too. I support him because he is at once a social conservative, a fiscal conservative, and a conservative constitutionalist of originalist understandings. And this is what I WANT in a president. I believe this is what our times call for, if we are to reverse the decline of America and everything she stands for.
JMHO FWIW.
Thank you so very much for writing, dearest sister in Christ!
Well and truly said, dearest sister in Christ! Thank you!
I think Cain is a passing fancy and he knows it. He lacks the organization and deep pockets of the 2 Gov.'s. We are going over the candidates and picking "our guy" on FR, but most of the country is really not engaged at this point.
Cain looks pretty good to the base right now because he "shoots from the hip" and everyone is sick of the beltway crowd. However, the nomination will come down to who can get the voters to come out in the primaries. The northeast "moderate" money people pushed for Christie to get in the race because they see the writing on the wall. Romney can't get over 25% in the polls. They figure Christie can do better because he's more willing to confront opponents than "sweet talking" Romney.
What they aren't factoring and the media aren't is the role social conservatives play in the primaries. We will not vote for someone weak on Pro-Life, Pro-Family, Pro-Marriage. The wild card will be the open primaries. The Rats seeing the weakness of obama may cross over and vote for the most liberal-Romney.
Right now Romney is strong in the northeast. Perry is strong in the south. The midwest and mountain states will be the key. PM astutely pointed out if it goes to CA. the crossover Rats will probably swing it to Romney.
I think if Perry wins big in FL he will be in good shape. If Cain wins in FL then you have to figure Romney is going to get the nomination. If conservatives do this we will have squandered one of the great opportunities in national politics. Liberalism is on trial in this election and nominating a liberal negates that.
Great analysis, wmfights! I do believe you are right about this.
May God forgive us if we conservatives squander this perhaps once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Obama's minions have been doing opposition research on Romney the entire past year at least. He's the guy they want to run against. Plus this anti-Wall Street farce being orchestrated by the unions and Acorn offshoots has been crafted to undermine a Romney candidacy, as Rush has presciently pointed out: Romney is being set up as a nefarious "Wall Street insider" a nasty robber baron determined to plunder the middle class who, among other things, would outsource American jobs to other countries in the name of corporate Profits....
It's a slander, to be sure. But I still dislike this "liberal" who has been known to speak out of both sides of his mouth, depending on his personal circumstances and audience. I sense he is an opportunist....
Thank you so much for writing, dear wmfights!
I accept your apology. I found out the info about my niece just this week. She went from a vibrant and active teen to having to finish out her high school not attending all the fun things girls do at her age. It has been very sad for my family. She still can’t drive a car, or work a regular job.
Their finances have been destructed by medical bills.
She never got to attend her graduation or final Prom.
So when you asked me how that Gardisil was working out for me, it was like a punch in the stomach. I know not all girls are affected like this, but it worries me that something that may be mandated can ruin the lives of families.
Just of the reasons I can’t make Perry the person I would vote for in a primary.
I appreciate the fine FReepers who stood up for me and look at them with affection.
Truth is we all need to move on a pick a candidate that is running. We need to work together to rid ourselves of the Obama scourge.
Thanks
If Cain wins in FL then you have to figure Romney is going to get the nomination. If conservatives do this we will have squandered one of the great opportunities in national politics. Liberalism is on trial in this election and nominating a liberal negates that.
How do you figure? I see Cain assuming the conservative mantel especially if Sarah supports him.
What I am waiting for, and ever candidate, is who will the 900 pound gorilla support.
You can bet on the fact that, as I write this, every candidate is heavily lobbying Palin for her support. They know that her support is a death knell to every other candidate.
Oh to be a bug on Sarah's phone.
Why do I keep getting pinged to this thread? I’ve said my piece (and peace).
Thank you so much for sharing your insights, dearest sister in Christ!
