The Univision-Marco Rubio flap over whether the network tried to strong-arm the Florida Senator is widening.
On Tuesday, presidential candidates Rick Perry and John Huntsman said they were boycotting an upcoming televised debate on Univision, scheduled for January 29th, because they say the network treated Rubio unethically, according to The Miami Herald. A short while later, Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney joined the boycott, Fox News Latino confirmed.

MAYBE THEY WILL ALL PUSH BACK NOW! And follow this advice:
Beating the Racism Card [snip] ...."This tells us how to handle these accusations. You don't go along with the script. The script is there to humiliate and destroy, and that is all. Instead, you defy it. Stand up to the accusers and run them off. Since their only power comes from numbers, use numbers against them. The next time an attack occurs during this campaign (as it inevitably will, and probably aimed at Perry), all the candidates must stand as one against the accusers. (All except Huntsman, of course, who might be making the accusation.) The candidates, through public media statements, must make clear their full support of the intended victim. No weasel-wording, no equivocation, no ambiguity. A general statement, signed by all of them, should then be released, presenting a succinct and logical argument as to why such accusations are unacceptable, with each swearing that he or she will stand by the others in any such situation, and ending with a condemnation by name of the accuser.
This can be taken further by conservative columnists, bloggers, and talk-show hosts. The accuser(s) should be keelhauled. The goal will be to make them as miserable as they intended their victims to be, which would act as a form of aversion therapy, forcing them to think twice and then three times about ever pulling the same trick again. (Need I add that the process would also prove valuable in cases involving Congress, industry, state politicians, media, and anywhere else such accusations may arise?)
What will happen is that the accusers will retreat. They are bullies, and that is what bullies do. (Even Andre Carson, a blowhard and loudmouth of the first order, has thought better of his "lynching" comment.) The media will give the GOP candidates all the publicity any pol could want. The GOP voters will go wild. Any further accusations will be unlikely, a benefit to all candidates equally. It would mean a cleaner campaign, an easier victory, and who knows? Perhaps even a step toward a more civil society.
For too long, too many blacks have wallowed in their own private sumps of self-pity, collapsing into whimpers every time somebody mentions blackmail, blackouts, or black markets. It's a pathetic epilogue to the heroism and grandeur of the civil rights movement. It's past time this adolescent posturing was put aside.
It will take some effort to accomplish this. (We'll refer only to the fact that the current incumbent has made no such effort whatsoever.) But the black grievance-hunters are no better than the Dixiecrats of old, using the same methods to keep Americans on edge, in fear, and overcome with anxiety. Using racism for political gain is a cheap and coarse tactic no matter who is involved. It needs to be ended." [end]

IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

“The move comes after Florida Republicans called for a boycott of Univision after the Spanish-language network was accused of offering to spike or soften a story of the senator’s brother-in-law if Rubio appeared on one of its news programs.”
But that’s how everything is done in Mexico. Why are they
even considering a debate on a network who’s viewers are
95% mexican nationals or illegal aliens who cant vote? Why
not have a BBC presidential debate?
Good! This is exactly what should happen. It is race baiting pure and simple. It should have consequences.
This is ethics "south of the border" style.
NO! This is MSM BS that all the candidate have to deal with.
It’s time to draw a line in the sand and turn this on its head.
Additionally, although Obama, by any reasonable measure, should have no chance to win next November, many Americans are beginning to buy into the Wall Street demonstrations that are loudly attempting to blame 'the rich' for Americas economic troubles, instead of Obama. How convenient. Too many voters believe that the money supply is finite and if some rich person has a lot, then you get less. Absurd? Of course. Believed by many? Sadly, yes. Unless we have a solid conservative as the GOP candidate, articulate and bold with a ton of charisma, Obama could squeak out a second term, which would be the end of America. This is why I support Sarah Palin for president and hope that she'll decide to run...soon.
Hit these outlets and networks where it hurts, in the pocketbook.
Make THEM the story.
Make THEIR character an issue.
AND DO it as a group -- united against their tactics of division.
They must have read your earlier post :-).
I haven’t read the article yet, first I’ve heard of this flap. And all of these candidates would like to consider a Rubio on the other half of their ticket.
Going to go read the article..
You're right.
It's nice to see at least Perry and Huntsman called them out on it. Where's our race baiter in chief, Cain? Also, where's mister let me be a race baiter to, Romney?
The MSM is drunk with power. There is no journalism, only ratings to think of.
It will never stop until they are told off and ignored in force.
Gov. Perry refused to play their games here in Texas. Gave no interviews and received no major MSM endorsements and won — again.
He will avoid the MSM and work with the new media and do local retail politics.
If they all adopted your wisdom, and put a stop to the media's picking/choosing our candidate via division. Tell them "We refuse to Play". Last one to tell them that is a loser.
One line they could use, if asked a stupid question: "Just remember when I become President, I get to choose which media I invite to the WH".
Exactly! Stop running from these guys.
They really stepped in it with this “rock” smear.
These candidates have money. Who wants to get some?
A decades old drug bust is not a "significant story".
Newt in all the debates has refused to PLAY, now Perry and Huntsman, and thats a good thing.
To be the last one out, would not be a good thing as it would only show the "ME TOO" thing, really not original.
Awesome! A man of integrity is leading the way and now most of the candidates are standing up for one of their own. :)
