Florida poll has Romney 28, Cain 24, and Perry fourth with 9 (Perry Fading, Cain Surging)

Can Rick Perry stop the bleeding before his campaign implodes?

If this new Florida poll is any indication, he is getting close to irrelevancy:

Debates matter. So did Florida's straw poll. Just ask two guys: Herman Cain and Rick Perry.

Cain is now running in second place in Florida now that his support surged nearly 19 percentage points after last month's Republican Party of Florida's Presidency 5 debate and straw poll, according to a survey of likely Florida voters conducted by Gainesville-based War Room Logistics, which typically polls for Republicans.

Meantime, Perry's support plummeted nearly 16 percentage points.

Perry had been tied as a Florida frontrunner with Mitt Romney at about 25 percent on Sept. 20, dropped to third/fourth place with 9 percent of the vote where he's statistically tied with Newt Gingrich (10 percent).

Romney's support grew a modest 3 percentage points, to 28 percent.

Romney also remains the best general-election candidate against President Obama, according to the poll. Romney trails him 42-48 - the smallest margin. Against all the other Republican candidates, Obama cracks the magic 50 percent threshold.

The War Room Logistics surveys have been unlike any other in Florida because they're based on a sample of likely voters, instead of just registered voters. Around now, it's more common (and cheaper) to poll registered voters because the campaigns aren't in full swing and it's a little tougher to estimate the likely voter population.

And since the numbers swung so wildly in just 10 days, it's a safe bet to say this is anyone's game right now. Though it's not just a two-man race. Herman Cain is a force to be reckoned with.

Extreme volatility in the GOP race means that Perry is far from being out of it.

Conservatives to Perry: Yes we do have hearts. And it’s doing nobody a favor to support them when they’re breaking laws.

If it comes down between Romney and Cain, then Cain will win.

Perry needs to get out and quit siphoning conservative votes from Herman Cain. Perry is no conservative and his jig is up.

I know of not one person down here supporting Romney are they just polling the north east.?

The north east is very different infact to me it is like another country and most republicans up there are like Dems down here, and many seem liberal on social issues .

I want a proper conservative not some half baked one on social issues.
The homosexuals serving needs to be overturned DOMA needs to be defended etc.

Nearly no Florida conservatives support Romney. Same for Cain. Look:

Cain is now running in second place in Florida now that his support surged nearly 19 percentage points after last month's Republican Party of Florida's Presidency 5 debate and straw poll...

This is the same meaningless month-old STRAW POLL (straw polls are meaningless to Ron Paul and Herman Cain alike) that's been out for a while. BTW, this is the same Rick Moran who trashed George Bush not too long ago, but mistakenly had the wrong George Bush.

The guy is not credible.

Governor Sarah Palin’s timing couldn’t better.

She has to run.

Nobody knows the dirty tactics of the nasty democrat media better that Governor Palin and she won’t fall prey to them like the others.

She’s been smeared and lied about for over 3 years like no other and Perry is just getting a taste of it.

All the polls against her were taken to discourage her and those polls are still ongoing.

Polls are almost meaningless this early, but Perry has a lot of image fixing to do and I’m not sure he can fix it. His own words about not having a heart, coupled with this latest media smear about that rock.

Perry was establishment republican and not all that conservative. Cain is conservative and a business man that can turn this country around because he knows what regs need to go to get our country working again. As for foreign policy he is smart enough to surround himself with the right people to strengthen America again. As to your tagline, boy is that the truth!!

Be careful. I heard a rumor, that removing an Obama bumper sticker set’s of an RFID alert then releases acid which consumes the vehicle and all it’s occupants.

I hear ya but Romney’s the worst. Worse than Perry, worse than everyone but Paul and Huntsman. All I’m saying is we need to get them out from the bottom up, not top down.

Of the two, I believe Cain is significantly more conservative than Perry. As such, this is good news. With Perry out of the picture, and additional support shifted Cain's way, it becomes that more obvious that Romney is about to become a second run loser. Of course, those that swore their oaths to Perry will wring their hands. But, hopefully, they'll come around.

IMHO, Perry was his own worst enemy. But I knew that politics Texas style would not work on a national stage. Texas is its own world. G-d bless Texas, but keep Perry because TEXAS can contol him.
Still trying to stay patient.

RE: How is Romney getting these high numbers? I haven’t spoken with ANYONE who is supporting him...not a single person

He has the GOP establishment behind him. In other words, the MACHINE is working. PLUS, he is the prefered opponent of many of the Dems. THAT will count for something.
