First Lady Michelle Obama said at a fundraiser in Providence, Rhode Island, on Friday night that a bank where Barack Obamas grandmother had worked discriminated against her for nearly two decades because she was a woman.
However, the Washington Post reported earlier this year that Obamas grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, had been the first female vice president of the Bank of Hawaii.
Meanwhile, Barack and Michelle Obamas 2009 tax return, posted on the White House website, indicates the Obamas inherited almost $500,000 worth of the banks stock from the presidents grandmother.

In Indonesia it is not uncommon for rich Muslim families to have servant girls who are Christian from poor families so they can be mistreated, brainwashed, raped and converted to Islam.
Yes, when they say servant “boy” or servant “girl” they are usually talking about minors, often pre-teens living with them.
Didn’t Obama say: “At some point you have to accept the fact that you have made enough money.” (Or something to that effect?)
With that in mind, why isn’t anybody calling him out about how much money he has received from book sales and inheritance? Why are Mawgli and Chewie allowed to say this crap and not be called out for their hypocracy?
These two asshats are vile and evil people.
Oh to be so discriminated against!
Can we assume that Obama’s half-sister inherited an equal amount from grandmother Dunham?
That’s an impressive amount of stock, considering when she must have retired.
Poor little Barry, He was raised by his poor Grammy who had to ride the bus.
..He was raised by a single mother who struggled to put herself through school and pay the bills. And when things got too tough for her, his grandmother stepped in, waking up every morning before dawn to take the bus to her job at the bank.
That was just the bank stock!. How much life insurance, properties, other investments.
Scumbags!
Obviously in Michelle’s opinion, she and Barack should have inherited $480 million instead of $480K.

Yea, that's what America was like 35 years ago
Actually it wasn't. She started working at the bank in 1960. In 1967 was taken to Indonesia at the age of 6, so is unlikely to have been aware of the progress of his Grandmother's career. When he returned in 1971, she was already bank VP, so unless he is grousing about them not making her Bank President, he could have observed nothing of her being denied promotion.
Good point, such frauds.
As God is my witness, I have absolute contempt for them.
She was even buried. She was cremated and someone released photo(s) of her ashes being tossed.
It's a shame that the President was screwed by the Obama recession. /s
Consider it stolen.
Obama’s grandmother was born in 1922. Prior to she and her husband Stanley moving to Hawaii in 1960, she worked in Restaurants. She found a job at the bank in 1960 at age 38 and became a vice president ten years later at age 48.
Ten years for a former waitress entering the banking profession at the bottom to rise to a vice president is quite impressive. Particularly when she entered the new profession in middle age. Also given that she was a member of the white minority which was discriminated against in Hawaii at that time. Plus she was one of the first female vice presidents at this bank. None of this story suggests discrimination against grandmother Dunham because she was female. One might actually argue her rise was very quick given her background.
With only a high school education, it sounds as if she wasn't treated too badly.
We all do.
I can't even stand to look at him anymore. When he comes on the telly, I hurriedly switch channels or turn it off. 'Course I was that way with Clinton and Carter too. Perhaps it's that I have utter contempt for all liberal politicians.
