Hank Williams, Jr., the voice famous for asking millions of football fans whether they’re ready for some football, has been pulled from tonight’s broadcast of “Monday Night Football” over a comment he made on Fox News this morning.

Williams, who sings the lead-in song to the game each week, criticized the president for his golf summit with House Speaker John Boehner this summer.

“It would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli leader) Benjamin Netanyahu,” Williams told “Fox & Friends.”

USA Today, among others, picked up the quote, speculating on whether the comparison would get Williams booted from the broadcast .

I kind of figured this would happen after hearing about his comments this morning. Whatever happened to that mantra from the Bush years of "speaking truth to power"?

Who will they get to replace Hank? The Dixie Chicks?

Lets see ESPN, Paul Azinger says Obama plays more golf than him.

On Friday ESPN 'reminded" Azinger his venture into political punditry violates the company's updated social network policy for on-air talent and reporters.

Kenny Mayne on Sarah Palin

Today, according to Gateway Pundit, ESPN warned Azinger not to tweet “politcal matters” as it violates the company’s updated social network policy for on-air talent. That’s a bit odd because back in June, one of ESPN’s “on-air talents” named Kenny Mayne made a nasty and vile tweet about Sarah Palin. Not a peep was uttered by ESPN then. Even more examples of BSPN hypocrisy can be seen at Big Journalism.

almost rammed car with palin bumper sticker. with intent.. held up..coulda been kids in car.

I have. Sounds like his grandpa if he does something decent.

Otherwise he makes some drug addled lunatic music.

That part of him stinks. I doubt he cares though.

Not to mention, the Rays are playing Texas on the other side of the Bay, in St. Pete, tonight. Helluva sports night in the Tampa Bay area! I’ve got PIP going on, NCIS on one and the Rays on the other.

The difference is the Dixie Chicks ticked off their consumer market. Thus the radio stations made a business decision to quit playing their music because the fans demanded it.

I live near Nashville and radio people were talking about the thousands of calls, emails, etc. country stations were getting from listeners saying they’d quit if they continued to play them.

I bet this flak will make Hank more popular and ESPN is going to do the opposite of the country music stations - they are telling their consumer market to shove it.

They weren’t “given” the rights. Disney owns ESPN and ABC and they moved it.

NFL is skating on thin ice.

If the right is smart, it will destroy them.

They are nothing but an extension of the slave trade, with no guarantee contracts and extreme violence against blacks.

Somebody over there had better find a clue quick, because if Hank Jr doesn't sing tonight, the NFL might as well start using a soccer ball, because NASCAR NFL fans WILL REVOLT.

Stuff like this, Obama bracket time, and their upcoming trans-gender tennis documentary are enough to avoid them. I’ll just tune in when I have to like when ‘Bama plays or for NASCAR.

The whole idea to me is the way Bush was vilified but you say one word against Obamalamadingdong and you’re accused of being all sorts of things.

“NFL is skating on thin ice.”

I don’t watch the NFL in October. I started this last year, since they started to wear all the pink accessories to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness. It is all so strange really. What happened to just playing football?

The mouthy chubster-singer who didn't shut-up until she had managed to destroy the Dixie Chicks country music career.
