If a cop and a promising student were gunned down and the shooter was caught, only to be freed after four years, the outrage would be palpable. Politicos would fall all over themselves to register their indignation and the press would be on it for weeks.
It happened in the case of New York State Trooper John McKenna and Pace University law student Michael Glover, who were serving in Iraq with the Marine Corps Reserve. Yet this story is virtually unknown, even though the injustice is enormous and systemic.
Five years ago, Lance Cpl. Glover, having put a scholarship on hold to volunteer for combat duty in Iraq, was the pointman on a patrol outside of Fallujah when he was killed by a sniper's bullet. Capt. McKenna, Glover's platoon commander, earned a posthumous Silver Star for giving his life in an attempt to save Glover.
Months later, U.S. troops captured their killer, Muhammad Awwad Ahmad. Recently, the families of the fallen learned from the Defense Department U.S. forces turned Ahmad over to Iraqi authorities in June 2010, and that an Iraqi court set him free four months later.

Hi Friends,
Please read the letter below from my friend, Beverly Perlson of The Band Of Mothers, and view the video included. Please also read Bob McCarty's emails that were sent to Republican congressional offices of the House Armed Services Committee. Bob McCarty received no replies, so we need to help!
Please join me in sending an email to all on the email list below, to the offices of the House Armed Services Committee. Just copy past the list in your send box and ask the following question:
“Why are known terrorists being freed by this Administration to return to the battlefield to kill more of our soldiers, while members of our own United States Military remain incarcerated for actions committed in the war against terrorists?”
Thanks for your help!
God Bless our Military!

In Honor of Mother's of Warriors : Urgent Assistance Needed: Our Troops Need Your Help
From: Beverly Perlson:
Please see Bob McCarty's email below. He is asking for your help. I am asking that you help Mr McCarty obtain the information he has requested. Yesterday we lost another one of our Brave American Sons at the hands of a member of the Afghan Army! These are the very people are Troops are risking their lives everyday to help! Our Troops deserve to know how many of their Brave Brothers have been killed by members of the Afghan Army, their families deserve to know and all Americans deserve to know!!!
As this administration continues to release terrorists our Sons continue to be incarcerated for actions committed in war! Awhile back, I sent all of your email addresses out to folks on my email list. I asked the folks to email each of you and “politely” ask for your help to secure the release of our Sons. We asked that our Brave Sons be treated and shown the same courtesy this administration was affording the terrorists and to please secure their release. I was rudely admonished by a Chief of Staff from one of the offices included on this email string. He was upset because his office received 100’s of emails in their inbox! Shame on that Chief of staff!
Tomorrow is Mother's Day, and in honor of all the mothers who have raised fine brave Americans who risk their lives and willingly serve this country, I ask each of you to show these American Mothers the respect they deserve and PLEASE TAKE A STAND FOR THEIR SONS AND DAUGHTERS! Please assist Mr McCarty in his request and please show some compassion and respect to American mothers whose Sons are incarcerated . Please help them secure the release of their Sons. I cannot say the name of the institution these Warriors are serving their prison sentence at because the same shameful Chief of Staff mentioned above told me any further emails going into the email addresses above with the L word in them would be blocked and further, he told me I will not like the eventual outcome for those Soldier incarcerated. Again, Shame on that Chief of Staff! I can assure you he in no way reflects the integrity of the Congressman he works for.
Why are Afghan mothers and their sons shown more compassion than our American mothers and their Sons?!! One of these brave Warriors is serving a life sentence and another is 40 years old and he will be 80 when he is allowed to return home to his family!!!! Tomorrow, these mothers will cry for their Sons as I'm sure they do every night, but those Afghan and Iraqi mothers whose Sons have been released back to the battlefield will rejoice!! This is disgraceful and it is wrong!
Please be advised I will be sending this email out and asking folks to please email all of you again. Please be advised too that I always ask folks to be polite and respectful. I ask you too to understand and realize that our hearts are breaking for our Troops over there. I invite you to watch this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4cLnjIAbac). Look at the faces of these Brave Warriors, their morale is lower than I have ever seen it and they are tired of seeing their Brothers killed and maimed as this administration continues it's policy of appeasement. Please step up to the plate and help them!
I have waited for this Campaigner-in-Chief to ask for an apology from the Afghan leadership for the deaths of our Warriors but he is too busy attending $40,000 per plate fundraisers while he attempts to gut our military. I know the Republicans on the hill have worked this past week to stop him from furthering his insane policies that hurt our Troops and I appreciate all your efforts. Thank You!
As you honor your Mothers tomorrow, please think of the Brave Mothers whose Sons risk their lives to keep all of you safe! Please remember all the mothers and their families whose Sons have given their lives in this fight where the ROE’s and catch and release policies give the enemy the edge every time! Please fight for the safety of our Troops and please work to release our Sons who are incarcerated. As this administration releases brutal terrorists, our American Sons should be afforded the same treatment this administration is affording terrorists!
Thank You for your consideration.
With A Mother's Heart,
Beverly Perlson

Ladies & Gentlemen:
Two weeks ago, I sent you an email message (see below) about the so-called “green-on-blue” attacks in Afghanistan. Today, it appears as if none of you — or your bosses — seem to give a flip about the lives of our men and women in harm's way. None of you responded!
Please prove to me that's not the case by helping me get answers about the green-on-blue attacks which, by the way, I exposed a bit more in a post yesterday, Request for Copy of Green-On-Blue Handbook Results in 30 Days of Stonewalling by Army.
If you can't do it, point me to someone who can.
Sincerely,
Bob McCarty, Investigative Reporter

Ladies & Gentlemen:
At last count, 53 U.S. troops — including seven this year — have been killed in Afghanistan since 2007 by thought-to-be-friendly members of the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF). Today, after more than 30 days and dozens of emails exchanged with public affairs officers (PAO) representing several Department of Defense entities (OSD, DIA, CENTCOM, Army HQ, ISAF et al), I need your help in extracting information from the U.S. Army and/or U.S. military officials with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. With your help, I think I can shed some light on factors that might be causing these tragic “Green-on-Blue Killings.”
FYI: Beverly Perlson, a good friend, pro-military activist and founder of The Band of Mothers, gave me your email addresses.
I've been researching the subject of truth-detection technologies being used — or, in some cases, not used — by officials inside the U.S. military and intelligence communities. The focus of my recent inquiries has been the Preliminary Credibility Assessment Screening System (PCASS), a device often referred to as the portable polygraph or handheld polygraph.
BACKGROUND INFO
DIA is DoDs executive agency for PCASS, but 70 percent of the 2,500 people trained on PCASS since its introduction in 2008 have been Army employees; therefore, my focus is largely on the Army's use of PCASS. The National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) falls under DIA and is the lead agency for training federal government employees on polygraph and PCASS.
QUESTIONS FOR WHICH I NEED ANSWERS
Because it took my 31 days to obtain very superficial answers to eight of nine questions I posed to officials at various DoD agencies, Im asking for your help in getting me answers to the following questions:
Q1. How much has the PCASS program cost the DoD overall and the Army in particular since its introduction in 2008?
Q2. Is there a DoD-level PCASS program manager? If so, please provide contact information so that I might arrange an interview.
Q3. If there is not a DoD-level PCASS program manager, are members of the House (and Senate) Intelligence and Armed Services Committees aware of that?
Q4. Have any reports on the effectiveness of PCASS in combat theaters been written by, commissioned by and/or provided to anyone within DoD since January 1, 2008? If so, how do I go about requesting a copy of same?
Q5. Has any DoD official(s) provided briefings and/or other communications to any member(s) of Congress regarding PCASS since January 1, 2008? If so, please describe and inform me as to how I go about requesting copies of any unclassified documents related to those briefings or communications.
Q6. Has any branch of the U.S. government provided and/or sold any type of polygraph equipment — including but not limited to the Preliminary Credibility Assessment Screening System (PCASS) — to any non-U.S. government agencies, quasi-governmental agencies or other entities operating in Southwest Asia since January 2008? If so, please describe.
TWO RELATED MATTERS
1. During the first week of April 2012, the Army Center for Lessons Learned published a document, Inside the Wire Threats — Afghanistan,” which was marked For Official Use Only upon publication. Soon after it was published, I forwarded a Freedom of Information Act request for a copy of that document to the DoD FOIA Office. Despite attempts to contact anyone in that office for an update since then, I have been unsuccessful in learning anything about the status of this request. [FYI: The handbook was mentioned by DoD officials during testimony February 1, 2012, on “USE OF AFGHAN NATIONALS TO PROVIDE SECURITY TO U.S. FORCES.before members of the House Armed Services Committee.]
2. On the advice of LTC Jimmie Cummings (ISAF/PAO), who said he could not answer questions about the ANSFs personnel screening procedures, I contacted Afghan Ministry of the Interior Spokesperson Sediq Sediqqi April 13 with several questions (below) regarding the process via which the ANSF vets its soldiers:
Question 1: What tools, methods and/or procedures have been used by the Afghan government to screen ANSF members in an attempt to determine their loyalty and/or trustworthiness?
Question 2: Is any form of polygraph technology being used to screen ANSF members in an attempt to determine their loyalty and/or trustworthiness? If so, please describe.
Question 3: Were any of the ANSF members who have been implicated in the shootings of Americans subjected to screening prior to their involvement in the shootings? If so, did they successfully pass those screenings? Details please.
Though Mr. Sediqqi acknowledged receipt of my questions via email, he has not provided any answers. I would appreciate if you could shed some light on this subject in the form of unclassified documents or other information that might help me answer these questions.
MY POINTS OF CONTACT
My DoD agencies’ public affairs points of contact, thusfar, have been the following:
Susan Strednansky, DIA/PA
LTC Jimmie Cummings, ISAF/PA
LTC James Gregory, OSD/PA
Wayne Hall, Army Media Relations
Thanks in advance for your assistant with this inquiry.
Sincerely,
Bob McCarty, Investigative Reporter

Freeper Friends Everywhere,
If you can, please take the time to read my post #102 above which includes letters from Beverly Perlson and Bob McCarty which were sent to the Armed Services Committee. And please share with others on your email lists.
I will ping my Freeper lists in hopes that during this coming week, all the offices of the members of the Armed Services Committee members will receive lots of emails. We need to do everything we can to support our troops and to bring attention to the problems they face.
JimRob,
I know when you read my post #102 you will want to help by sending an email to all on the Armed Services Committee, and that you will send on to others.
This is an old thread I posted back October, but we know that conditions have NOT gotten better for our troops. James and I are committed to doing everything we can to bring attention to what is going on.
Needless to say, I am pinging my CA Freeper list here:
Another Freeper ping to post #102.
Please help our troops by just sending an email.
God Bless our troops!
"My God, we have a president who is simply allowing our soldiers to be killed. He's just letting it happen."
I log on to FR and find this headline. Chilling.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4cLnjIAbac
So General Allen tells our troops to buck up. Don't be sad about your brothers being killed. Don't be angry that they were killed by Afghan soldiers you are here to help. Just forget all that and just think about the mission that will be over soon. And look at this Afghan Officer I am so proud to call my brother. He is here to tell you that your brothers’ sacrifice is wonderful. Don't bother looking at the Afghan soldiers as your possible killer, no, just think about your mission. Your mission is to work along side the Afghan soldiers and not worry about their anger that we are leaving soon so they can fight their enemy alone. Don't worry that they HAVE to show the enemy that they are NOT REALLY on our side by killing some of your brothers or maybe you, just think about your mission our CIC has laid out for you. So just buck up and smile and come let me shake your hand cause it might be the last time I get to shake your hand.
Freeper ping to #102
Thanks for the ping. This is disgusting, but not unexpected.
God be with our soldiers, and forgive us for putting Barack Obama and the Democrat Party in charge of their fate.
I know for a fact that the Republican members of Congress along with “some” of the Democrats care about our troops, but for FAR TOO LONG, our troops have been set up as sitting ducks by the so called Commander In Chief!
It is clear to me that we the people MUST force EVERY member of Congress to stop this madness! And we need to start with the members of the Armed Services Committee!
Please see post #102 and send your emails!
We should not have been in Iraq to begin with. Afghanistan too. Of course Obama is sympathetic and plays kissy face with our enemies. He is a muslim and just hiding it.
Thanks for the ping.
There are all sorts of ways to die for your country; but this way is a whole other war than Afghanistan. Keep fighting, patriots.
Everyone’s page has in the post box: “What's on your mind?”
I wish everyone would post this:
What's on my mind? OUR TROOPS!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2787107/posts?q=1&;page=102#102
I was not happy about going into Iraq either. But at least there was a plan made to win and help Iraq become a Democracy.
Obama declared the war in Afghanistan “his war” and it is clear what side he is on!
Bump!
Its a war. If the enemy kills a soldier, he’s not liable for criminal prosecution any more than we are for killing him. We have one of two options:
1. The individual is question is NOT a lawful combatant or is otherwise a war criminal. In that case we should convene a tribunal, convict him, and execute him.
2. The individual is a POW. In this case we have to release him when the war is officially over. Since we didn’t declare a war to start with, he’s out.
We don’t (morally) have the option of holding these people forever.
Personally, I think we should be trying, convicting, and executing these people as fast as possible.
God bless you for bringing this forward. Pinging my legislators and mailing lists now.

A Mother's Day Call That Meant So Much!
I received a call today from SFC Soldier Kelly Stewart. We have been fighting for justice for Kelly since hearing about his case. Kelly called me this morning to say “Happy Mother's Day!”
It meant the world to me. I met him at his appeal hearing last month and I can tell you, he is a good man and a Soldier's Soldier. He is a highly decorated Soldier and so is his father. On this Mother's Day, please pray for his mother, whose heart breaks for the injustice her Son has been through. Please pray the Appeals Court does the right thing and clears his name.
Please pray too for lst Lt Michael Behenna and his family. Michael's mother's heart breaks too, for her brave Son who continues to sit in Leavenworth! Pray the CAAF Court releases Michael, we are anxiously awaiting that decision also.
Please pray for all the mother's whose Sons continue to sit in Leavenworth, while this administration releases terrorists. I pray that some Congressman will be brave enough to fight for our American Sons!
Thank You!
