Some Republicans in Congress have said that they agree with certain parts of this jobs bill. Obama said. If so, its time for them to tell me what those proposals are. And if theyre opposed to this jobs bill, Id like to know what exactly theyre against. Are they against putting teachers and police officers and firefighters back on the job? Are they against hiring construction workers to rebuild our roads and bridges and schools? Are they against giving tax cuts to virtually every worker and small business in America?
The Senate is expected to take up the bill next month and, while the president continues to urge Congress to pass the American Jobs Act in full, the White House has said Obama would accept a piecemeal approach to passing the legislation if Congress rejects the package in full.
Economists from across the political spectrum have said that this jobs bill would boost the economy and spur hiring. Why would you be against that especially at a time when so many Americans are struggling and out of work? Obama asked.
But, the president argued that this isnt just about what I think is right. Its not just about what a group of economists think is right, its about what Americans want and need.

It ticks me off that some Republicans actually stated they like parts of the bill! I don’t want myrep to work with, cross the aisle or exten a hand to a marxist.
I've not heard of any police or firefighters being let go. Where is this supposed to be happening?
Mr President, at this point the US Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, and Richard Durbin, Senior Senator from your home state of Illinois and sponsor of this “Jobs Bill”, both DEMOCRATs, have both publicly stated that they cannot get enough Senate DEMOCRATS (your own ‘folks’) for a majority to pass YOUR BILL. Thus all of this is simply hot air rhetoric to convince your base that it is only those evil Republicans who are keeping paradise from coming tomorrow!
Are those shoes starting to hurt? Just wait, it is getting worse the longer you speak and do NOTHING that actually works!
Perhaps he should talk to his Senate Democrats first about what they are against?
Hey Obozo ask Dick Durbin
“The use of false-premise questions is getting frickin’ embarrassing to watch. They try to pose the questions as a series of Hobson’s Choice but in reality they are more like “when did you stop beating your wife” in their construct. “Would you rather give tax breaks to millionaires or starve children” has GOT to stop, and true conservatives NEED to push back with logical arguments.”
An Eagle does not catch flies. He is far to small game and is a useful idiot against the Progressives/Liberals if you think about it.
“I dont want my rep to work with, cross the aisle or extend a hand to a marxist.”
Whenever Dems call for compromise and bipartisanship, they really mean “let’s do it our way”. Pubbies can’t seem to get that through their thick skulls. We need to repo some reps in 2012.
“Notice he is campaigning against the Republicans here. He is not trying to work with them.”
Last time I checked, the Senate was controlled by the DIMS.
Government takes from the job world Mr. Obama. Haven’t you taken enough.......
Bingo! We have "compromised" ourselves into socialism headed towards full blown Marxist communism. This has got to stop!!
Speaking for myself, and I hope for others, I'm against make-work handouts at above market wages to unionized cronies. All of the examples of job beneficiaries are heavily unionized, with "prevailing" Davis-Bacon wage rates. As a taxpayer, I'd rather pass--I saw what happened with the last $800 Billion--it disappeared to the pockets of favored supporting groups.
The real truth in FUBO’s statements is that his only concern is for unionized government workers and unionized construction workers. They do not constitute the bulk of those who are out of work! They constitute one of his key constituencies. He doesn’t give a rats ass about jobs for the average worker and by extension “Holder’s People either.
It is happening in Mr. Soetoro's state, Madiganistan.
Here's the series of jokes here in Madiganistan:
1) The state raids, delays, or reduces sales tax and income tax distribution to local governments.
2) Local governments lay off cops and firefighters.
3) Barry's crowd offers grants for partial salaries for cops and firefighters that goes down by 25% over 4 years, so that cops and firefighters who are hired under this plan are laid off in year 4 anyway.
4) Barry offers more grants to "put cops and firefighters back to work", yet Madiganistan still does not resolve the local tax issues with property tax caps and delay or reduction in sales tax distribution to local governments.
5) Quinnoccio and the Puppet Party jack up income tax by 67% in a lame duck session last year and still do not resolve the shared income tax issues with local governments, with cooperation by the Combine.
6) The Quinnoccio Regime suppressed growth of business, maintains oppressive rules and taxes, businesses leave, and local property taxes and sales tax continue to be suppressed.
In other words, the people of Madiganistan and it's largest city, Rahmabad, ARE EFF'D into oblivion!
Many of us want to annex in to Wisconsin or Indiana.
I vote for a new job for Barky. Start next Monday.
Barky Obama.
Love it.
Hey Barry, No co-sponsors have added their names to either the Senate or the House version.
Anyone in either chamber can add his name to the bill as a co-sponsor.
The House has 193 Democrats, 192 of which apparently dont want to be associated with Obamas job-creation track record.
Democrats control the Senate with 51 members and two independents.
