Democratic strategist Cornell Belcher says there is a media "double-standard" over Herman Cain saying blacks have been "brainwashed." Belcher calls Mr. Cain a bigot and a racist and says this incident is a "teachable moment." (h/t TRS)
CORNELL BELCHER, DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST: First of all, do you think you're going to invite me on the show and then I'm not going to talk about the ridiculousness of that statement? Two things. One is a great way to sort of get people on your side and win voters is to attack their intelligence.
So great job there. Really sensible, Herman Cain.
The second part here is, it's really a teachable moment. You know, if I came on your show, Anderson, and I said, all Jewish people are brainwashed, I probably wouldn't be invited back to CNN and I assure you the condemnation would be swift and it'd be powerful and be strong.
What Herman Cain said was a racist, bigoted statement and it should treated like a racist and bigoted person who makes those racist and bigoted statements.
COOPER: Ari, what about that? I mean saying black voters have been brainwashed, how does that language play outside his supporters?

There is nothing in my opinion that makes Italy special in that regard.
**********************************************************
Whaaat? PUHLEEZE, have you never heard of Pavorotti, Caruso, DaVinci, Michelangelo, not to mention Sinatra, Dean Martin, Pacino, and on and on.
And then there is the food, the magnificent Italian dishes we all love.
Besides, who the hell ever heard of “Dublin Salami”
This “ignorant blanket statement” may well be the truth, which I believe is a good defense against charges of racism. I suspect that the percentage is a good deal higher in the inner cities of this country.
I have no doubt that a great many black Americans know a lot more about geography than I do. I also have no doubt that a great many know nothing and have no intention of ever learning. Anyone who thinks that is a racist statement does not understand the concept of racism.
I am Irish—can trace my line to 1170 and to a Norman Knight. BUT since 1848 we have been Americans, since then we have intermarried with English, French, French Canadians, Germans, Italians, and a few Native Americans (Arapaho and Seneca)—so I am not Irish—I am a Mutt—a mixed breed -—a true American.
By all accounts we just crossed the border from Canada and settled here—so we were illegals back in 1848—why? the farm land was better in Maine. BUT, when the Civil War came my family were the first to volunteer to wear Federal Blue to put down the Southern Rebellion and free the Slaves. For their service, they were granted US citizenship. My family has served in all of America’s wars since 1861 winning commendations. I am American as they come—as My Grandfather said “I’m a Blue-bellied Yankee” . So, come here if you must—but leave your old loyalties behind—serve your new land and become Americans!
” Go Cain!
MSNBC Ed Schultz who has been telling blacks and Hispanics that Republicans are racist and hate them for the past two years said, Cain is trying to divide us, not kidding “
Cain: Oh lordy lordy do I ever HATE myself !
LOL!
GO CAIN !!!!
And you are an idiot. I have referenced here that I would vote for Cain. As I addressed you in a FRmail, you are not from my area. As I told you there, the drop out rate here is huge and the grades are lousy. The school is a mass majority black with very few whites. Drive by a football game at the local stadium and it is 99% black. Thus, blacks are the majority in the local city limits. Their grades on those national tests they take yearly are among the worse in the entire state. Murder, rape, robbery abounds in the local city limits and much of it from teens. Once again, I say, HOW do someone like that find a place on a map. They cannot even find their school books and tests papers to pass the courses. KNOW what you are talking about when you make your punk remarks. IF Mr. Cain is the nominee, he gets my vote. I don’t give a care what color he is if he is the type of candidate I vote for. Black, white, green, yellow, purple, I don’t care. But I Know what the local area is like and thus that is the crux of my statement. What you take of it I don’t give a care.

I stand by my initial reply. As it seems there are those on FR who like to make these types of incindiary comments in order to stereotype an entire segement of the population, thereby serving to make themselves superior to them. There is no need for it as it only gives ammunition to the opponents of conservatism and credence to their false claims that conservatives are a bunch of racists.
Well, I think most of us have been expecting them (libs) to show their true colors for awhile now... It happened, and we can tell the deniers, “We told you so.”... Problem is.. the deniers are libs... so it goes in one ear and out the other.. and they still call him ‘racist’. Go figure :p
Like I said.. it was expected :/
Not only is he a conservative.. he is a rational human.. He is what we call “an American”... no color needed.
(O.o)
I believe he was making a statement on the education/teaching (levels) in this day and age...
“and free the Slaves. “
I highly doubt that is why they fought. Not to mention the War of Northern Aggression didn’t free the slaves. The 13th Amendment did that.
Truth hurts. Those on the left along with blacks on Uncle Sam’s dem plantation CAN’T TAKE THE TRUTH. So what do they do...scream RACIST, BIGOT...
Cain gets it completely. He is an American. I can vote for an American for President.
Who cares what Cornhole Belcher says anyway?
I honestly wish I could get a family tree.. all I know is I have Cherokee, Irish and ‘Black’ Dutch (whatever that is)..
The furthest up my tree I know is both of my father’s grandparents on his mother’s side were both Cherokee, and his father’s family came from Ireland...
Can’t find any more info.. tried for years :p
I know nothing from my mother’s side :/
(So sorry to be OT :p)
They are insanely desperate.
Cain/West 2012!
From my lips to God’s ears!
Whether it is the truth or not isn't the point, and I fail to see how it serves the Conservative cause to make such a statement. As far as me having no knowledge of what racism is, you have no idea of who you are talking to or what you are talking about. Best to keep your false assumptions to yourself, lest you be made a fool.
The Final Jeopardy Answer!
Cornell Belcher combs his hair with firecrackers.
