What is wrong with this picture?

Gov. Perry asks for drones and technology, and more boots on the U.S. Mexican border. Meanwhile Texas Rangers are patrolling the U.S. Mexican border (1250 miles) the best they can -- salaries paid by the citizens of Texas. The International border with Mexico is a Federal responsibility but they refuse to do their sworn duty. Instead we find out the U.S. Federal Government bought and GAVE guns to Mexican drug cartels.

Jaime Zapata, a U.S. Special (ICE) Agent from Texas who was investigating human trafficking (required to be unarmed in Mexico -- so the U.S. knew he was a sitting target) was murdered in Mexico (information coming out points to many more murders and crimes tied to the transfer of these guns to Mexican criminals). And Gov. Perry is the headline.

Gov. Rick Perry states that fencing in urban areas is effective but drones and Intel is needed for the rest of the border. His written and personal requests for the U.S. government to seal the border is ignored by the Obama administration and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and instead is sent a few extra people to sit behind desks.

The GOP needs to take Hispanic votes from Obama and we can if we talk to this large minority with respect. A majority of Hispanics don't want illegal immigration. Gov. Perry understands voter outreach. He is not one to insult or pander to Americans of Mexican and Hispanic heritage in his bid to win the GOP Primary. He speaks the truth. He doesn't dance around it because those voters know that means nothing will change for the better. If the candidate who wins has insulted a vast number of voters (who are a fast multiplying voting demographic due to a high birth rate) the GOP will hand Obama the 2012 election and 4 more years to completely destroy our nation.

Rick Perry knows (states) that a Conservative Ascendancy is what we must work for in order to turn back the social welfare, dependency path we're on -- that is dragging the country down. So instead of driving people who are conservatives by nature into the Democratic Party arms, where they will learn to be dependents of the state and grow the progressive voting army, we need to learn how to campaign for their votes.

If they can keep conservatives fighting and in angry camps defending their conservative candidate, the other side always wins (Hugo Chavez and Venezuela politics is a good example) and as this same process occurs over and over again, the many conservative factions become ever more isolated from each other and that ensures that liberals can gain increasing control until they have so much control it doesn't matter what conservatives think anymore.

Rick Perry's Intriguing Idea for Bi-National Health Insurance …“Contrary to Sen. Santorum’s impression, the idea here was to explore the possibility of allowing private insurers to cover health services provided in either Texas or Mexico. It was an attempt at studying the deregulation of the provision of health insurance by private entities.

Stop giving the illegals benefits, Ricky. That is the best thing we can do.

They work toward their U.S. citizenship as part of their in-state tuition. They're basically stateless people -- brought to the U.S., raised here, educated here and roots here.

Maybe if we stop giving them goodies like free tuition, maybe they’ll stop coming over the border, and we won’t even need to build a fence.

Talk to the Feds. Talk to the "social justice" make 'em stupid, lazy and dependent progressive party.

Gov. Perry wants the border sealed and a Conservative Ascendancy.

good grief, this issue is killing him.

He either needs to change the subject, or start attacking the others for where they are weak on the subject. Something, anything but what he has been doing.

This is going to destroy him, if he doesn’t get a handle on it.

Does he not realize that benefits for illegals is a magnet for more trouble.
A lot of things liberals do, "because you have to have a heart", end up making the problems worse.

he opposes a wall
he opposes deportation
he opposes cutting off benefits
he favors a “guest worker program”
he favors Mexican trucks on the roads

so... how is he against illegal immigration again??

heck, at this point I’d even settle for a complete flip flop. But he needs to kill this issue one way or the other, or he’s dead in the water.

You need to put forth ideas and solutions. So far he mostly defends what he’s done in Texas. He’s not running for Texas now but rather the USA. Different game and plan needed to be effective in that attempt. Oct. 11 & 18 will determine Perry’s fate.

It’s not “easier.” The Feds aren’t deporting anyone, much less 17 or 18 year old high school graduates that they haven’t noticed for the last 3 years (plus).

The Feds aren’t even deporting convicted criminals.

They’ve built 11 detention centers where they house illegal aliens who’ve been picked up after serving time in prisons in other States. They transport these criminals to Texas and house them here.

They also started bringing people they pick up in Arizona to Presidio, Texas, where they send the illegal alien across the border. Supposedly, this disrupts something or the other — like the illegal is going to be stymied by coming right back into Texas instead of Arizona.

And then, there are the Federal deportation hearings. For some reason, the Feds insist on holding hearings on illegal aliens. But they don’t catch and jail these people. They catch, tell them to come back to court someday, then release them. In the last year, the immigration lawyers have shown up (with or without their clients) to find that the federal attorneys have dismissed the case. 300,000 people have been released in Texas in the last year.

So, no one that can actually deport a high school graduate is waiting to catch and deport these people. The graduates can goof off, get pregnant, get into trouble or try to get a job == or they can go to college. But the feds don’t care, one way or the other.

everyone on that stage opposes mass deportations.
the wall argument is silly
the benefits subject is his weakness
everyone on that stage wants some sort of guest worker program.
mexican trucks.. don’t know, don’t care. Sounds like a union issue to me.
