McCain: 'The Libyan People Have Inspired the World' (says US must stand by new Libyan govt.)

WASHINGTON -- Arizona Sen. John McCain said Thursday during a trip to Libya to meet with the nation's new rulers that the Libyan people "have inspired the world."

"They have paid an enormous price for their freedom, but the sacrifice of the Libyan people has delivered their great nation to the shores of a new world full of new hope; a chance for all Libyans to know lasting peace, dignity and justice," he told reporters at a news conference.

McCain was joined by three other Republican senators in the highest-profile American delegation to visit the country since the ouster of longtime leader Muammar Qaddafi.

McCain, Mark Kirk of Illinois, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Marco Rubio of Florida met with the head of the National Transitional Council, Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, and other high-ranking officials of the group that is now governing Libya after the rebels forced Qaddafi from power.

This is McCain’s war. We won’t let him forget that.

I have much to say, but cannot say it, except to say as a question, not an accusation, how it is that when America had rescued McCain, when he could have become a flag for the American cause, he “chose” to stay there. In a camp where survival was 20 to 1.

Nothing to say, only curious.

(i, personally, do not understad or trust him)

Out

These senators are just ignoring the be-headings carried out by the so-called Rebels. McCain's a joke and Rubio proved he's a RINO.

IINM Rubio was just at the meeting with the so called Libyan leaders. He didn’t [I hope] sign on to McDumbass’s statement. Pleases correct and disappoint me if I’m wrong.

It pains me that so many ill-informed Americans will confuse McCain with Cain.

As if they're both dumbasses.

Things will go sour in Libya in spite of massive U.S. aid. McCain has access to information that the average American can not get. In spite of this he has an unrealistic view of what is happening.

Will anyone praise him for this, who didn't endorse Obama against him in 2008?

never mind that who voted for this buffoon in AZ in the first place.
They could have got rid of him and got JD but instead got this RINO who now is trying to get at Rubio as a RINO

We can not let the establishment select our candidate. McLame was our only choice, it was him or Zero, we got zero. I’ll vote for Romney if that is who our candidate is, to remove the commie, but we need to fight this battle to the end to nominate a true blue conservative!

McCain’s been entirely too enthusiastic about this. I’m guessing he’s got some sort of financial investment angle in all of this. Maybe got a cheap deal on some Libyan oil reserves?

Probably his wife wants to start distributing Libyan beer.

McCain is the current poster boy for what is wrong with the senate and the senate seniority system.
When he takes the big sleep there are another 70 or 80 more just like him ready to step into the job.

Well they certainly have inspired me.

They’ve inspired me to believe that democracy is totally unsuited for them until they have a major religio/cultural change.
