Oh hey, I’ve been meaning to ask those here if they have heard Trace Adkins’ song Semper Fi, which is on his newest album. It’s really moving.

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list

The Story Of A Wall
September 29, 2011 While visiting the ruins of Hadrian’s Wall in Northern England, I reflected on the fact that this may be the most remembered achievement of the Roman emperor who came to power in ad 117. As many as 18,000 Roman soldiers manned this 80-mile-long barrier, built to keep the northern barbarians from invading the south.

Hadrian is remembered for building a physical wall to keep people out. In contrast, Jesus Christ is remembered for tearing down a spiritual wall to let people in.

When the early church experienced tension between believers of Jewish and non-Jewish birth, Paul told them that, through Christ, they stood equally in the family of God. “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation . . . so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace . . . . For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father” (Eph. 2:14-15,18).

One of the most beautiful aspects of the Christian faith is the unity among those who follow Jesus. Through His death on the cross, Christ has removed the barriers that so often separate people and has drawn us together in true friendship and love.

God’s people have so much to do
In serving Christ today
That they should use their precious time
To share, to love, to pray. —Branon

Christian unity begins at the cross.

Read: Ephesians 2:11-22

He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation. —Ephesians 2:14
Bible in a year:
Isaiah 7-8; Ephesians 2

My scuttlebutt comment for the day.

Happy 10th Birthday to my son Brennan. For his 10th Birthday on Friday, he is getting his first rifle. A 22LR Cricket Youth Rifle.

http://www.crickett.com/

I am so excited to introduce to him the world of shooting, responsible gun ownership, and the importance of the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment.

Hi Gang..
I am under the weather and will not be here long tonight..
I would ask a favor of you, please.
Would you please pray for MainelyDawns Mom?
She has had emergency heart surgery, and is in critical condition in the Cardiac Care Unit.

Docs are very worried that Dawns Moms heart is not very strong.
When they went in to repair a valve, they found another valve damaged, and also a hole in her heart.

Dawn is exhausted and frightened, and she could use your prayers, too.
Thank you!
Me

Let me get this straight . . . ..

We're going to be “gifted” with a healthcare
plan we are forced to purchase and
fined if we don't,

which purportedly covers at least
ten million more people,
without adding a single new doctor,
but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,

written by a committee whose chairman
says he doesn't understand it,

passed by a Congress that didn't read it but
exempted themselves from it,

and signed by a President who smokes,

with funding administered by a treasury chief who
didn't pay his taxes,

for which we'll be taxed for four years before any
benefits take effect,

by a government which has
already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,

all to be overseen by a surgeon general
who is obese,

and financed by a country that's broke!

‘What the h*** could
possibly go wrong!’

This touching photo is from Operation Enduring Freedom.
Note how this little Afghan baby girl is fascinated by the flag on this female soldiers uniform.

Abide With Me

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.

Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word,
But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord,
Familiar, condescending, patient, free.
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.

Come not in terrors, as the King of kings,
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings;
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea.
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.

Thou on my head in early youth didst smile,
And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee.
On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.

I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

WELCOME TO THE

Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our

AWESOME

Military, our Allies, and their families.

Thank you, Connie, for preparing the Canteen for today's activities.

Now our local DC Metroland weather report

~ Today...Partly sunny. Areas of fog this morning.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon.
Highs in the upper 70s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.
Chance of rain 20 percent.

~ Tonight...Partly cloudy in the evening...
Then becoming mostly clear. Lows in the upper 50s.
Southwest winds around 5 mph.

We're suppose to have a chilly weekend.
Mr. Beachy and I are going northern Maryland for an overnight stay.
Guess we'd better pull out and pack warm clothes.
And, the dreaded shoes & socks.
The best part of summer is either
wearing sandals or no shoes at all.

Thursday
Looks like it's time for another installment of

DID YOU KNOW?

The average life expectancy of a white ash tree is 275 years. .

The Speaker of the House in Great Britain is not allowed to speak.

Mary Stuart became Queen of Scotland when she was only six days old.

Popcorn was banned at most movie theaters in the 1920s because it was considered too noisy.

Today will be similar to yesterday
busy...busy
I'll respond to your ping as soon as I can.
But, you stay right where you are.
Keep the troops entertained and the Canteen clean...
Cause...if you don't...I'll tell Ma!

Sit for a while.

There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes,
conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS

PLEASE REMEMBER THEM ....
