(CNSNews.com) - During a United Nations General Assembly summit on non-communicable diseases -- a discussion that included diet and eating habits -- New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said governments at all levels must make healthy solutions the default social option.
Speaking on the government's role in diet and health last week, Bloomberg told the UN General Assembly, There are powers only governments can exercise, policies only governments can mandate and enforce and results only governments can achieve. To halt the worldwide epidemic of non-communicable diseases, governments at all levels must make healthy solutions the default social option. That is ultimately governments highest duty.

Yep. Sez right there is the Constitution. /sarc
Somehow, methinks Bloomberg must have inherited his dough.
‘Cuz there’s no there there when we’re talkin’ about his intellect.
On second thought,NYC is the perfect place for the UN.
Send in the blue helmets to shoot the trans fats eaters!
Boy, he’s an idiot!
D’ya suppose he was high on something when he made that ridiculous statement?

I agree. He’s an idiot. But my guess has been that he has a financial wizard on his payroll that makes his millions for him.
Now if they will only tell us which books we can read.
And to let the blind drive...
Boy, hes an idiot!
Leave it to the liberal leftists - just when you think you have heard the stupidist thing, they go and out do themselves.
But, but, but Rick Perry said he’d always side with government mandates to protect life.
Make mine a double cheeseburger. Oh and double size those chili fries while your at it.
taht’s Palin’s job, silly !(sarc)
I’m completely out of toothpaste but I have no idea what brand is approved by the federal government. What to do, what to do...
I can’t get too excited about Michael Bloomberg’s genuflecting to Big Brother government, always with the best intentions, of course. He may have run for his third mayoral term as a ‘Republican’ but he is really just another billionaire (18 billion, to be exact) ‘limousine liberal’ posing as a benefactor that wants to help the unenlightened masses with his great wisdom and deep concern - while steadily robbing them of their freedom. I’ll pass, Bloomie.
Mayor Michael "Fearless Fosdick" Bloomberg uses the full police powers of the state to keep a potential victim from eating a can of beans with too much salt and trans fats.
What a moron who is not of this planet, number one is defending this country from all enemy’s foreign and domestic.
