The movie 'Dolphin Tale' was expected to finish first this weekend and finished third. I've heard two radio hosts today suggest this is backlash over Morgan Freeman's comments saying the Tea Party is out to "get the black guy."
Anyone out there changing their plans to see the movie?
I don’t watch his movies on TV much less pay. He’s been hanging over the left coast lefty for a long time.
And to think he played Alex Cross.
Not changing my mind at all.....I hadn’t intended to see it in the first place and have no plans to see it now. It has nothing to do with being black or white.
I have a very good personal friend who coincidentally happen to be black (Originally from Mississippi). A self educated man who has more common sense that all the so called elites in this world.
Who predicted it would come in first?
i promised a little girl I would take her-so I ‘m going.
I think he made those comments to cover the fact that he is marrying his step-granddaughter. Bleccccch.
I will not watch him again.
I didn’t know that he was in a new movie, but now that I know, I’ll be sure to avoid it.
I never wondered or considered he might be an angry racist
..he seemed so benign and genial
.....but-(on Piers Morgan).. he said it.....he meant it.....and he meant it vehemently!
I had considered him one of my favorites.....(as far as acting)....
..but I would be foolish to throw more money to this guy.
Too bad he couldn't just shut up and act!
Now all I catch when I hear him speak is him calling me a RAAAAACIIIIIST!
I wholeheartedly agree!! I posted a thread on this last week suggesting all conservatives do this.
I’ve added MF to my list of boycotts. A friend pointed out I won’t be seeing many movies going forward.
No big deal there.
Yep, he sure did. A real class act, huh?
The thing that really gets me...is that up until that point, Freeman was a rather reasonable and intelligent sounding guy.
Me too. Makes for slim pickings but that's just fine. I've got plenty of more interesting things to do anyway.
what’s a movie?
I can no longer “suspend belief” with certain actors after hearing them bash conservatives and the Tea Party. Why would I give them money so they can then turn around and use it to support liberal poltiicans and causes?
I say let the liberals support all the movies. Movie star salaries will start to plummet pretty soon.
I never planned to see it...hope that helps.
I loved to watch Freeman, who is a great actor, and who also brought “humanism” to his roles. But, his comments were like a slap upside the head, and I doubt I can separate the man from his movies, so I’m done with him. I don’t like actors just because they are black, and I don’t dislike them for the same reason.
Those of you who get all your news from conservative Internet sources sometimes think all America knows about this stuff.
Au contraire - the MSM stifling of gaffes by liberals is still almost totally effective.
I’m torn on Hollywood - my bil installs theater equipment (sound and lights) in new theaters around the nation. He’s good at what he does, a Catholic and very very conservative politically. He’s the first to admit it’s probably the wrong career, having any connection to such a liberal industry, but like I said - he likes doing the sound and lights and is good at it.
But I do not go to movies at theaters. I wait till they come out on video then rent them for a dollar from Red Box nowadays. I haven’t bought a movie in awhile but have become very picky about those I buy. Unfortunately most celebs I like wind up running off at the mouth and doing stupid stuff- AFTER I’ve already bought their movies lol and I can’t take it back then unfortunately.
The most I spend for entertainment is for Dish tv. And I’m probably going to cut out Starz when they start charging for it again. (it’s been free for a year with Dish.)
My point is - they get as little money from me as I can possibly manage already. This movie didn’t interest me before he started running his mouth. I sure won’t be watching it in the future.
