Hundreds of thousands of asthma sufferers who use an over-the-counter inhaler will be compelled to seek a more costly prescription device by the end of the year, when the federal government plans to ban them over environmental concerns.
The Food and Drug Administration last week began a media push to get the word out about the looming phase-out. After Dec. 31, the epinephrine asthma inhaler known as Primatene Mist will no longer be available.
The product is currently the only FDA-approved over-the-counter inhaler and is being taken off the shelves because it uses something called chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) as a propellant -- the substance is considered harmful to the ozone layer.

Condemning allot of children and adults to a horrible death and I guess we can now call it a death panel.
This is all part of the ObamaIDon’tCare Health Plan. Take away effective medical devices that are less costly and force the sufferer to buy more expensive devices. That will cost the patient more in a co-pay (wealth redistribution), force the insurance companies to raise their rates in order to cover the increase in costs, which in turn, will force the patient out of the private insurance system into Obama’s marxist (We’ll take care of you, if you behave) healthcare plan. It will also destroy most private health insurance companies, always a goal of the marxists.

My son uses these because they work for him and don’t cost much. Obama would ban them because the tiny amount of CFCs they emit (after going into the sufferer’s body) MIGHT be damaging to the ozone. I have never figured out how a heavy molecule like the CFCs got all the way up to the ozone layer to damage it. Maybe it is Bush’s fault.

Asthma is a huge and growing chronic disease in America.
With Obama care looming on the near horizon Asthma will be a huge drain on the health system.
Consider the savings that can be realized if thousands more asthma sufferers die every year than currently do.
Step two: the weak die sooner.
Outcome: fewer useless bodies breathing out polluting earth harming carbon dioxide. AND national health care savings to spend on genetically superior citizens.
