The Environmental Protection Agency has said new greenhouse gas regulations, as proposed, may be absurd in application and impossible to administer by its self-imposed 2016 deadline. But the agency is still asking for taxpayers to shoulder the burden of up to 230,000 new bureaucrats at a cost of $21 billion to attempt to implement the rules.
The EPA aims to regulate greenhouse gas emissions through the Clean Air Act, even though the law doesnt give the EPA explicit power to do so. The agencys authority to move forward is being challenged in court by petitioners who argue that such a decision should be left for Congress to make.
The proposed regulations would set greenhouse gas emission thresholds above which businesses must file for an EPA permit and complete extra paperwork in order to continue operating. If the EPA wins its court battle and fully rolls out the greenhouse gas regulations, the number of businesses forced into this regulatory regime would grow tremendously from approximately 14,000 now to as many as 6.1 million.

“They wont stop until they destroy the economy!”

Let me fix that for you....
They won’t stop until they destroy America.
Ohhh, It is Tallyho, the fox is in the Whitehouse.
HEY! This must be the green jobs Nancy was talking about!
/SARC
In fact, that is the only way EPA can comply with the Clean Air Act. Applying greenhouse gas regulations to only 14,000 large producers is illegal. The act specifically says 100 to 250 tons has to be regulated. The EPA arbitrarily changed that to 100,000 tons mainly so they would be targeting Texas and people like the Koch brothers. It might as well be called the Koch rule, blatantly illegal as well as unconstitutional.
The next president has to dismantle, undo, de-sign, de-implement, fire, and overturn every single freaking this this administration has done/hired/signed etc.
(PS letter on its way today.)
No problem - the country's rich - we've got money to burn.../s
You're right, jeremiah. Anyone we put in office will have their work cut out for them...
I didn’t read the rest of the article, but I bet that it didn’t mention that the environmental nazis use these permit filings as an excuse to sue small companies for paper work violations more often than for actual violations, then settle out of court.
WA state is a prime example of this. They can’t use the federal clean water act to regulate ditches or other non-navigable water, so the environmental groups go after then for improperly filing the regulatory reports. They focus on small businesses that do not have the on staff lawyers to fight them and then settle out of court, pocketing the money.
Tallyho Tallyho!!!
I don’t think this will go well in the US House of Representatives at the current time.
That’s an average of $91,304 per employee.
Which obviously means that we are talking about the cost per year, not just 21Bil, but 21Bil + inflation forever.....
Plus pensions and healthcare for life after what? Fourteen years?
Currently, the EPA sets expensive, strict, top down
rules, strategies, and technologies for companies to
obey or else. It would be far better for the EPA to
set discharge standards then let businesses find the
best way to achieve that goal.
However, is the goal of the EPA really to improve environ-
mental standards? IF we are what we DO, not what we SAY.
The EPA has done harm to U.S. businesses, to American
prosperity, and thus to the American worker and their
famlies by down grading our quality of life rather than
improve quality of air and water.
If EPA has their way, we will be like starving millions
in India with cattle all around, yet nothing to eat. The
religion of Environmentalism prevents us from utilizing
the earth and its resources. (... Where are the separation
of church and state ACLUnatics when you need them?...)
God gave us these resources to benefit and improve the
world and its standard of living. But like the sacred
cow and the starving Hindu’s, we whither while the cow
grows fat.
The EPA is being wielded like a sword to wreak havoc on our economy.
The EPA and eventually the NEA will
completely thwart any reasonable
way for Americans to “pursue happiness”.
