Sarah Palin Can Square the William F. Buckley and Rush Limbaugh Rules For a Republican Primary
Human Events ^ | Sunday September 25, 2011 | Tony Lee

Herman Cain win in the "Presidency 5" straw poll in Florida on Saturday has reset much of the narrative concerning the 2012 Republican presidential contest. Here are some questions being asked. First, was Cain's victory a reflection of the general dissatisfaction Republicans feel toward purported front-runners Mitt Romney and Rick Perry? Second, could another candidate enter the presidential contest? Third, will the Republican primary contest be a battle between the William F. Buckley rule versus the Rush Limbaugh rule?

If Republicans are indeed not enthused about Messrs. Perry and Romney, one candidate could be primed to enter the race who can square the Buckley rule of electing the most electable conservative with the Limbaugh rule of electing the most conservative person in the field.

That candidate is former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Buckley said that Republicans should elect the most electable conservative in the field. Often, Republicans act as if Buckley said Republicans should elect the most electable "Republican" in the field and conflate "conservative" with "Republican."

[...]

One reason Palin may have won over independent voters in the past month is that she brought up the issue of crony capitalism in multiple speeches and television appearances before Obama was hit with a bevy of crony capitalism scandals ranging from Solyndra to LightSquared. Further, Palin has also reached out to union workers and disaffected Democrats in Facebook notes and speeches with her free market populism that pits her against big government and crony capitalism. This is the strategy Reagan used to build his enduring coalition, which Palin seems to be trying to cobble back together for the 21st century, uniting blue collar voters -- white and minority -- who identify with Main Street over Wall Street and Washington, D.C.

Get over yourself...my attitude toward palin(™) is based entirely on her record. If you want to count yourself among those who push her blindly and who hang on her every veiled “clue”, go right ahead, but don’t be offended if the rest of us see you as one of her dupes.

Sorry, but the "break" she gave the people over the oil companies was...

A) The exact same tax that obama included in his campaign platform...

B) The exact tax that the DC GOP rejected...

C)a tax that was over and above existing AK taxes and existing AK negotiated revenue royalty sharing deals

D)a tax that drove oil company investment away from AK...

E)A tax that her hand-picked successor has been actively trying to reverse because of its negative impact.

Sorry, but those are the facts.

If you choose to be a palin-dupe go right ahead but don't pretend that your decision to be so used is based on the facts.

And, anyone who is holding out for her as our only hope is, pardon me, an idiot.

It is about time that somebody here spoke the truth.

Thank goodness then, that you're here.

Yes. We won't have the media pick our nominee again. Been there, done that, got the McCain stinko campaign to show for it.

No, not "in other words" anything. I was very clear. My impression of palin(™) is based entirely and solely on her actual, real-world, verifiable performance as mayor and governor.

I do not need to visit revisionist, ex-post facto, PR-driven explanations of that which I already understand via real-time experience.

Now, if you would rather take those revisionist, PR-tainted, ex-post fact renderings as more genuine than the real-time record then go right ahead.....but, please excuse those of us who think that you are being a willfully useful idiot if you do.

Sarah Palin would give two arms, two legs and whatever else she could think of if it meant saving the future of the United States of America.

I just read this whole story... you are being an idiot and trying to create a phony theme... the amount of money that would be used for abortion related services is argued to be so small that there is no reason for Parnell to vetoe this... well, my answer is that if it is so small, with all the pro abortion groups around, why would a child care operation even have any abortion related services and why can’t those pro abortion related groups handle it since it is so “tiny, small, hardly any money”?

I’m glad that Parnell vetoed the bill. One tiny life would be worth it. I’ll bet that not many people knew that Medicaid was paying for abortions in Alaska.

Well it sure ain't you. You're a charter member of the FR PDS club, and have been spewing your PDS lies for almost three years now.
