Sarah Palin Can Square the William F. Buckley and Rush Limbaugh Rules For a Republican Primary
Human Events ^ | Sunday September 25, 2011 | Tony Lee

Herman Cain win in the "Presidency 5" straw poll in Florida on Saturday has reset much of the narrative concerning the 2012 Republican presidential contest. Here are some questions being asked. First, was Cain's victory a reflection of the general dissatisfaction Republicans feel toward purported front-runners Mitt Romney and Rick Perry? Second, could another candidate enter the presidential contest? Third, will the Republican primary contest be a battle between the William F. Buckley rule versus the Rush Limbaugh rule?

If Republicans are indeed not enthused about Messrs. Perry and Romney, one candidate could be primed to enter the race who can square the Buckley rule of electing the most electable conservative with the Limbaugh rule of electing the most conservative person in the field.

That candidate is former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Buckley said that Republicans should elect the most electable conservative in the field. Often, Republicans act as if Buckley said Republicans should elect the most electable "Republican" in the field and conflate "conservative" with "Republican."

[...]

One reason Palin may have won over independent voters in the past month is that she brought up the issue of crony capitalism in multiple speeches and television appearances before Obama was hit with a bevy of crony capitalism scandals ranging from Solyndra to LightSquared. Further, Palin has also reached out to union workers and disaffected Democrats in Facebook notes and speeches with her free market populism that pits her against big government and crony capitalism. This is the strategy Reagan used to build his enduring coalition, which Palin seems to be trying to cobble back together for the 21st century, uniting blue collar voters -- white and minority -- who identify with Main Street over Wall Street and Washington, D.C.

“Do you mean other than the fact that she is un-qualified to be potus...she is decidedly un-electable and that she is stringing these usefeul idiots along? Why nothing at all. “

She’s at least as electable as Ronald Reagan was and much more qualified to be our national executive than anybody else in sight.

This “unelectable” lie is right out of the Liberals and RINO’s vocabulary.

Of course she’s qualified, of course she’s electable, and she’s not stringing along her supporters who are not idiots

Sorry, but a dismal mayoral record for a town of fewer than 6,000 people (including children) and self-aborted half term as governor of the second least populous state in the union does not qualify her to take the toughest, most complex job on the planet.

And, anyone who is holding out for her as our only hope is, pardon me, an idiot.

It is about time that somebody here spoke the truth.

“Have you read either of her books or seen her movie? If you haven’t, you don’t know anything about her.
______________________________________

Better than that, I looked at her actual record as mayor and governor and I saw her rambling, dis-jointed “I quit” speech live. I do not need to read some ex-post-facto- revisionist rendering of the facts.”

In other words, you don’t want to know anything about Sarah Palin. She quit because people like you had inundated the Alaskan government with untrue charges that it would have broken the bank to defend.

Speaking of the truth, I love it, and that’s why I read how she cleaned up state government politics and gave the people a break over the oil companies.

I think that’s the sort of thing we need in Washington against its crony capitalism politics and general corruption.

Really? And you based that in depth analysis of what???

Other than your extreme hatred for the woman, on what do you base your analysis against a Palin candidacy?

This ten year freeper is sick and tired of dancing around the facts on every palin(™) thread...you guys are being played and asking for more.

With all due respect, visiting the Plain threads is a voluntary task. If you're "sick and tired," don't grace us with your presence.

Geez..all these reasons about what a Herman Cain win means....How about keeping it easy. It means that PEOPLE VOTED FOR HERMAN CAIN!! Kinda says something MORE about the media when they won’t accept that Herman Cain is simply gaining ground.

By election time, it will be anybody but Obama.

Palin and Cain would make a wonderful ticket.

-----------------------

Ok, mr. teamster union member, here you go...

1) I do not "hate" palin but I fully understand that it is important to you to paint me with that brush.

2) Palin was a big flop as mayor of tinytown (aka wasilla) and increased the long term debt by 2300% during her reign as well as cost the little burgh's populace (less than 6,000) over $2 million in cost over-runs on a seperate land deal that she royally effed-up.

3)Palin(™) instituted the same tax on oil company profits that the GOP in DC refuted but that obama ran on.

3)SHE QUIT.

Palin(™) is not presidential and she is taking you for a ride. You may go along willingly but the rest of us see the fools that you are being taken for.
