Handicapped Kids...Better Off Dead
By Peter Heck
For those of us committed to the fight of saving Western Civilization from collapse, stories like the one that recently emerged from West Palm Beach, Florida are not reassuring. It seems that Ana Mejia and Rodolfo Santana, the parents of a young disabled boy named Bryan Santana, have received a $4.5-million court victory over a doctor and ultrasound technician they accused of malpractice.
What makes this story uniquely disturbing is the alleged offense of the two medical professionals. According to the Palm Beach Post, "[the parents] claimed they would have never have brought Bryan into the world had they known about his horrific disabilities ... the West Palm Beach couple said they would have terminated the pregnancy." In other words, since Bryan was born with only one limb, his life isn't worth as much as it would be if he had all of them. Therefore, the doctor and ultrasound tech are responsible for Bryan being alive rather than in a trash bin, and so they should have to pay for him.
The $4.5-million decision is half of what the parents requested, allegedly to help pay for Bryan's lifetime medical costs. That two individuals could be so shameless as to even publicly attach their names to a lawsuit of this nature, that our court system would even hear such a case, and that a jury of citizens would disgracefully reward the plaintiffs with anything but a callous lecture on their own moral degeneracy amount to a shocking commentary on how far our culture has fallen in terms of its respect for the value of human life.

They did not have to keep the baby. They could have put him up for adoption. What monsters.
I work with kids who’ve been abused and/or neglected and/or have criminal backgrounds, and I read this with growing horror at these parents. Their attitude is definitely going to impact their kid negatively, and the fact that they are not shy about exhibiting it shows the real problem I have with our Oprah Culture (which I talk about a lot, with good reason). If they were confronted they would no doubt respond with “I have a right to express myself, who are you to try to shut me up, I’m just saying what I really feel!”
They would have made competent Romulans (who do not let their “defective” children live).
So...he’s stuck in a wheelchair and ‘useless’, huh?
How’d that work out for Stephen Hawkings?
On the other hand there is this:

An amusement park built especially for children of various special needs.
The culture of fascism is alive and well. You see, the master race will evolve by letting these babies die?Have we heard it before...will Obama Care allow such babies to live under health care rationing? Why not have the gene pool all black? They have a superior genome according to Rev. Wright...

$4.5 million? This isn’t a “better off dead” story, this is a “better off rich” story. They saw their opportunity for some cha-ching and went for it.
Prayers for Bryan, as with parents like his, he’ll need them. As an aside, who can blame people for not wanting to go into medicine with lawsuits like this?
a terrible judgement awaits these people.
Just as Terri Schiavo’s husband wanted the money, so do the baby’s parents.
I’m going to stop here and not read this thread. I like this place and don’t want to say what is on my mind right now. I don’t want to respond beyond this.
Bingo my friend
Also consider
If you got the US govt, trial lawyers and con artists out of the healthcare business, health costs would drop like and rock and doctors would actually make more money.
but they have to live in fear of creepy people likes these trying to ruin their lives.
Well they say they would have aborted him, but to me it’s just another example of a get rich quick scheme using the courts with the lawyers including the defense padding the jury with the micro-IQs and splittng the take while everyones health care costs go up even more. Bush wanted tort reform for this kind of garbage but of course the Dunce-o-crats rejected it. It would interfere with enriching their potential Vice Presidents.
I used to be pro-choice. After I held Eric in my arms and fell in love with him, my heart flipped in the complete opposite direction.
If I were on that jury, I would not have given them a dime. I would have ordered CPS to take that sweet angel away from them.
God gave me my son. We would deal with whatever came our way. If it meant working two jobs each and living out of a box, so be it. I loved him already and was ready to fight for him.
Thankfully, he was perfect.
That doesn't mean he's going to stay that way. NO ONE has a guarantee that we will live our lives perfectly content and physically intact. What do we do with our loved ones then? Late late late term abortion?
I'm with you, Salamander. This little boy is not useless, the PARENTS are.
What about the JURY? I can’t believe it sided with this arrogant, selfish couple.
I agree with your sentiments. I hope your family is strengthened by your knowing your nephew in his short life. Looks like in your case at least, he made a big impact on the world while he was here.

It didn’t.
