I work with kids who’ve been abused and/or neglected and/or have criminal backgrounds, and I read this with growing horror at these parents. Their attitude is definitely going to impact their kid negatively, and the fact that they are not shy about exhibiting it shows the real problem I have with our Oprah Culture (which I talk about a lot, with good reason). If they were confronted they would no doubt respond with “I have a right to express myself, who are you to try to shut me up, I’m just saying what I really feel!”

My nephew lived for just six short months. In that time, I saw the true blessings of God's love in the strength of my brother and sister-in-law, as they did everything humanly possible to not just keep Eric alive...but to give him a life.

I used to be pro-choice. After I held Eric in my arms and fell in love with him, my heart flipped in the complete opposite direction.

If I were on that jury, I would not have given them a dime. I would have ordered CPS to take that sweet angel away from them.
