New gaffe: Obama hails America's historic building of 'the Intercontinental Railroad'

"Were the country that built the Intercontinental Railroad," Barack Obama.
That's what the president of the United States flat-out said Thursday during what was supposed to be a photo op to sell his jobs plan next to an allegedly deteriorating highway bridge.
A railroad between continents? A railroad from, say, New York City all the way across the Atlantic to France? Now, THAT would be a bridge!
It's yet another humorous gaffe by the Harvard graduate, overlooked by most media for whatever reason. Like Obama saying Abraham-Come-Lately Lincoln was the founder of the Republican Party. Or Navy corpseman. Or the Austrian language. Fifty-seven states. The president of Canada. Etc.
If you talk as much as this guy likes to talk instead of governing, if you believe you are a Real Good Talker as much as this guy does, you're gonna blow a few lines. But this many?
No doubt, we'll see a collection of Obama's Best Bombs on 'Saturday Night Live' this weekend, one right after the other. No doubt.

I’d love to see how they laid railroad tracks across the Ocean bed. When do we get to see this marvel of engineering?
The Sheriff is near!
I liked the guy with the Palomino horse and the Gucci saddlebag a whole lot better.

Taggart Intercontinental?
Correct.
Each railroad was given 6400 acres of land, which they could sell to settlers to help populate the route with customers, and each railroad was paid $48,000 per mile of track laid.
However, they had 14 years from the passage of the Pacific Railroad Act of 1862 to complete the job, or they would forfeit ALL the land AND the money.
And in typical Government fashion, the two lines passed each other in Utah because no one was thinking ahead to establish a junction point.
Promontory Point, Utah was selected and the Golden Spike was driven on May 10, 1869. 7 years ahead of schedule.
Has anyone else read the transcript that follows the LA Times article? Barack Obama is completely delusional, and an outright liar. And, it is abundantly evident from the transcript and the crowd response, the “speech’ was delivered to a hand-picked friendly union group.
It’s truly sickening stuff to read. This is the POTUS???? What has happened to the USA? What has happened to the democrat party?
“so the LA times has switched flags, has it?”
Actually, it seems like they have. I’m totally amazed at the continuous stream of anti-0bama (actually simply truth-telling) articles that are coming out about 0bama from the L.A. Times on a daily basis. Right now, it’s the only major daily bird-cage-liner media outlet that is telling some truths about 0bama.
Not sure why. I suppose they figure they can have their cake and eat it too, namely, they can slam him all they want, thereby creating buzz for themselves, yet knowing all along 0bama’s going to win California with no sweat no matter what gets said or what happens.
I dunno...all I know is that
His handlers were probably thrilled that he didn’t say “Intercollegiate Railroad”
Yes, the Intercontinental Railroad was a Teutonic Shift in history!
LOL!
I think it was either Governor William J Lapetomine or Heddy Lamar.
No, that’s Hedley!!
Mocking barry has lost some of its fun, now that even hardened leftist don’t even try to defend him.
LOL Almost snorted my coffee.
Remember the old wall poster from the 1970s? A Promontory Point type scene - but at the point where the rails joined, the southernmost rail from one side joined the northernmost rail from the other. I believe the caption was "Thank God It's Friday".
Yeah, wasn't he the feller who spoke purtier that a twenty-dollar whore?
Maybe to the extent that the government gave them the power of eminent domain/inverse condemnation so they could take the land they needed, but did it provide any funding?
And they went "intercontinental" with their evil plans. I guess that fellow returned with a shitload of dimes, after all.
