Gov. Sam Brownback endorsed Texas Gov. Rick Perry for president on Thursday, citing Perry's record on creating jobs and reducing taxes.
"Rick Perry is the right leader for this moment in history," he said in a prepared statement.
"I think he's really got the right message that it's about jobs, it's about job creation and it's about getting the atmosphere right," Brownback said. "They've maintained and created a very positive, growth-oriented atmosphere in Texas that we've got to get back to in the United States."
Perry's campaign issued a statement calling Brownback "one of the most respected voices for conservatism in the country." Perry noted Brownback's record in Congress as a fiscal conservative who pushed for lower taxes and balanced federal budget.
"It's great to have his support," Perry said. "I'm glad that he trusts me to get the job done as the next president."

Perry didn’t help himself in the debate last night. But he still has time to regroup as there are nine debates left but he needs some serious study and practice time on how to answer the questions regarding immigration, border control, gardasil and student in state tutition. There are solid answers he can give but whether the public will accept them is another thing.

There are very solid answers he could give.
There is and I can’t believe his campaign hasn’t gotten them written out and set him down and made him practice and recite them over and over until he has them in his memory bank. They need to take the 20 minutes or so of debate tapes and show him how he actually looks as he rambles along. He can do better but he got to get organizes and get serious.
From the way it sounds he will drop in the polls, my brother text me during the debate (I don't really like to watch them) and said Perry was looking bad. I read the transcript and couldn't tell it so his delivery must have really sucked.
His record is a good one. I actually think the only ones who can win are Mitt,Perry and Palin if she gets in. I think some of these issues are phony. Newt and Mitt are smart enough to let Bachman and Santorum go after Perry with ignorant claims of what they would do. The general election is a whole different animal.
I think some of these issues are phony.
Perry did terrible imo. If you didn’t watch it then you really missed a bumbling rambling approach by Perry. The issues can be explained with coherency if Perry would and could do so. Now people can disagree on the explaination but at least it would be cohenernt and logical. Perry needs major practice and if nothing else needs to adopt the Bush approach of memorizing a few answers and sticking to them regardless of the question.
