Most city workers spend decades in public service to build up modest pensions. But for former labor leader Dennis Gannon, the keys to securing a public pension were one day on the city payroll and some help from the Daley administration.
And his city pension is more than modest. It's the highest of any retired union leader: $158,000. That's roughly five times greater than what the typical retired city worker receives.
In fact, his pension is so high that it exceeds federal limits and required the city pension fund to file special paperwork with the Internal Revenue Service to give it to him.

Corrupt bastards.
Cool. That’s $158,000 a year less that the Union thugs will have in their coffers to donate to Liberal and Democratic election campaigns.
The pension is coming out of the Chicago taxpayer’s wallet. It’s a pension being paid by the city.
It is paid out of the City of Chicago’s overall employee pension fund for which any current or future un-funded liability will be picked up by taxpayers or the shortchange to other City services.
In our totally corrupt political world today, it truely PAYS and PAYS WELL to have bought friends in high places!
At times I think we need to bring back hanging judges.
...and now the Chicago syndicate is running the country. What could go wrong?
Just makes the headlines because it is so grossly ridiculous.
Bet they are paying tens of thousands of folks $10K - $50K/yr.
You can sort of tell - when you see “city worker” types in nice neighborhoods with new cars.
The criminals have found they can get into government and “legally” extort and steal money from all the rest of us.
This gross exaggerated criminal activity has to eventually have repercussions.
Democrats - Thieves, Thugs, Thralls and Thickheads
As Gannon might say, ‘Some days are better than others’.
His Macomb county commissioner position now nets him about $128,000 per year.........
So there you have it, his county paid pension of $78K and his county paid salary of $128K..........
WHY are your commissioners paid so much??? That’s absolutely mental. Ingham County seats net a max of $16,832/annum plus a whopping per diem of $60. And this county is pretty blue, home to Lansing/East Lansing.
Despicable union thug crooks/Chicago Way .. Ping!

Chicago union bosses raking in millions from city pension fund
###
Excerpt
All it took to give nearly two dozen labor leaders from Chicago a windfall worth millions was a few tweaks to a handful of sentences in the states lengthy pension code.
The changes became law with no public debate among state legislators and, more importantly, no cost analysis.
Twenty years later, 23 retired union officials from Chicago stand to collect about $56 million from two ailing city pension funds thanks to the changes, a Tribune/WGN-TV investigation found.
The short version of the story is that a couple of decades ago, somebody (amazingly they cant seem to find anyone willing to admit they did it) inserted a change into the pension laws which essentially says that the pension city workers receive can be based on the last salary they drew from the union instead of the actual salary they earned working on the public payroll. Heres a couple of the notable results:

The whole article above is a MUST read. The thug Dem community are raping and robbing us at every level of every state and local govt. and the entire federal govt. apparatus. REMOVING THEM ALL MUST BE OUR CLARION CALL!!
That was my mistake, he's our new "Macomb County Executive".....
Grosvenor Capital Management was one of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's largest campaign contributors.
==============================
After serving as an advisor to Pres Bill Clinton, in 1998 Emanuel resigned from his position and became an investment banker at Wasserstein Perella, (now Dresdner Kleinwort), where he worked until 2002.[26] In 1999, he became a managing director at the firms Chicago office. Emanuel made $16.2 million in his two-and-a-half-year stint as a banker, according to Congressional disclosures. At Wasserstein Perella, he worked on eight deals, including the acquisition by Commonwealth Edison of Peco Energy and the purchase by GTCR Golder Rauner of the SecurityLink home security unit from SBC Communications.[26]
Then-Pres Clinton named Emanuel to the Board of Directors for the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation ("Freddie Mac") in 2000. That paid Rahm $31,060 in 2000------and $231,655 in 2001. During the time Emanuel spent on the board, Freddie Mac was plagued with scandals involving campaign contributions and accounting irregularities. The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) later accused the board of having "failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention."
Emanuel resigned from the board in 2001 when he ran for Congress--and served four terms.
When reporters asked that documents from Rahm's tenure be released under FOIA laws---Obama refused.
Ingham is no better, really, just very crafty about hiding their useless positions. One Lansing City Councilman, Jessica Yorko, holds a full time job as--wait for it--Environmental Justice Coordinator for the Ingham County Health Department. That's political speak for "Slush fund position for Jess who rallied her far left progressive friends to stack the commission board with democrats." From what I've been able to ascertain, Jessica's main duty as Environmental Justice Coordinator is posting links on facebook all day long. And I can't find a single reference to her salary, but one thin dime is too much.
