Rick Perry's 'President Zero' apocalypse ad (alarmist and w/ "footage of horses!")
Washington Post ^ | September 22, 2011 | Alexandra Petri

Posted on 09/22/2011 2:53:41 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

[snip]

The ad scares me.

It's actually the “2012” trailer, but without the waves and wolves because Perry does not believe in man-made global warming.

This would make a great summer blockbuster. I can see sequel potential, and there’s even Shia LaBoeuf-level acting.

But the message is startling.

Is Perry's main selling point really, “It's the Apocalypse, and I am the Only Hope For America?”

Because, frankly, this is not what I was hoping for from my presidential candidates.

“Also, here is some footage of horses!”

Zero Change and Zero Jobs. Thank heavens REAL GOLD-FONT ALL-CAPS AMERICAN Rick Perry is here to turn that trend around. With him in change, we’ll go from zero change and zero jobs to zero jobs and zero change.

I understand that 2012 is quickly turning into the Political Apocalypse. Everyone is alarmist. The horses are behaving oddly, turning up in political ads for no reason. Gary Johnson will actually be in attendance at Thursday night's debate. Clearly, we live in the End Times.

Harold Camping had nothing on this. After watching the Perry ad, I'm cowering under my desk, repenting with eight different religious texts open on my lap.

“Even if Hilary or some other moderate”

This discussion isn’t about Hilary but I can’t resist...

Quite a few people perceive her as moderate, but they might be thinking of her “hubby” Bill who wasn’t very moderate but did moderate himself when he had to in order to politically survive. He let her design healthcare reform and Hilarycare, the result, was horrible. He tried to have “gays in the military”, he just couldn’t get there. But he moderated under duress.

Hilary is a Saul Alinskyite, bigtime. She acts a little more moderate than Obama. It’s all an act. Hilary isn’t genuine. That’s what we know about Hilary. She has a very radical background which she hasn’t renounced, she simply decided to cover it with a less radical personae. Now so much older than in her radical salad days, she seems matronly and non threatening.

Not so.

Beware Hilary and never forget...she chose to work for Barack Obama.

....The writer comes right out and says it scares her, which connects directly with the Liberal reader, who concurs...

I think she's miscalculated who still "connects" with the "ha-ha" level. This "joke" isn't finding a very large or receptive audience -- everyone is getting squeezed.

....But he moderated under duress....

I need more sleep or stronger glasses. I had to read this twice -- because I thought you'd written:

"But he moderated under her dress."

I guess I can be excused...

I think the ad is great, but I wonder why they didn’t make a music transition away from the ominous music when the topic changes to Perry.

It's a powerful ad. It wakes people up to what's going on around them. People who aren't paying attention have no idea how bad president Zero really is, or how much damage he's done to the entire world.

Perry is proving he can lead, because this ad leads people to watch Washington a little closer. The more people pay attention to Washington, the less power the democrats will have. They count on the ignorance of the masses to pass their oppressive Marxist agenda.

Good job, President Perry.

Maybe someone can do a UTUBE about Obama using the old Zorro theme song.

Zero, Zero
Zero, Zero
Zero, Zero

Out of the night
When the full moon is bright
Comes a horse's ass
Known as Zero

This Alinsky renegade
Carves a Z with his blade
A Z that stands for Zero

That is one heck of an ad. Hope whomever they have creating them is retained for future work. Very powerful stuff.

The ad IS a solid body blow. Any of the other candidates had more than enough time by now to produce an ad like this before Perry got into the race. It isn’t as though they haven’t been critical, they HAVE. But you get to AMERICANS visually and this ad is gripping. AND, what was chilling was Obama - “I’m just getting started.” WOW!!!

Yep I did tune into Hannity at 9PM and it was nice to see Rick Perry on for the first 20-25 minutes. Hannity has had Sarah Palin on for those first 20-5 minutes at least 10 times so it was Rick’s turn. She’s been on the entire Hannity hour a few times. But she ain’t running and it is too late if she wants to

Guvnor GoodHair looked good and came across good. No complaints here

I'll bet you are right. The Hillary PUMA's are probably getting fired up about the opportunity for a little revenge re: Obama.

The recent scuttlebutt from Ron Suskind's new book about the bad treatment of women in the Obama WH dovetails conveniently with this narrative.

And you know what else probably scared her? They showed a little boy playing with a model war plane while jets flew overhead. I bet THAT filled her dainty panties FULL of pee!

I liked the ad. It was disturbing though, and not sure how it will be viewed by others. People mentioned the horses. To me horses symbolize strength, freedom, America, the mythic past, the West. They also symbolize power. Obama hasn’t used his to create a better climate for jobs. Obama also looks passive, even with all of his changes, he comes across as passive.

If you notice Hillary has had a face lift - she's in. Watch for that face lift. She can't win without it. Appearances do matter, especially to the "idolizing" left.

Perry’s circle seems pretty well connected. Gov Perry himself did an impromptu interview with Freeper AnnaZ during the last gubinatorial campaign. You can watch it here:

Perry is pretty friendly towards the Tea Party movement, although I will be mocked by many on this site for saying so.

In fact, here’s another vid of Perry at a local gathering in Midland Texas In which he discusses immigration and other topics. He’s in rare form:

http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=6Nbvnci1MRY

He gave this talk after last November’s elections.

Just wow. What an arrogant, defiant statement to make. Amazing that a purely political ad would invoke such strong anti-religious sarcasm.

The MSM will paint this as whacky because it is the truth about what Obama has done to this country.

I’m very cynical on the increased political divide and who it is that actually benefits.

There is a good case that the MSM and their pundits purposely divide us more to create a money making machine that increases their bottom line. With every additional percentage point that they can create in the USA political divide, there are more Americans willing to send hard earned money to candidates or action groups, which are then turned into expensive media ads.

The MSM and the pundits are rewarded directly by increasing the political divide. When it comes to politics we’re simply the sheep to be used for profits and manipulation.
