As of now, the 2012 Republican Presidential Primary race is all about Texas Governor Rick Perry and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, with no other candidate reaching double-digit support.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary voters shows Perry with 28% support and Romney capturing 24%. Before Perry entered his first debate, the Texan held an eleven point advantage over Romney, 29% to 18%.
Trailing far behind the frontrunners are former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at nine percent (9%), Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann at eight percent (8%), Georgia businessman Herman Cain with seven percent (7%) support and Texas Congressman Ron Paul who earns six percent (6%). Rick Santorum, former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, draws the vote from three percent (3%) while ex-Utah Governor Jon Huntsman draws support from two percent (2%). Michigan Congressman Thad McCotter comes in with just one percent (1%) of the vote. Another 11% of GOP voters are undecided at this time.
These latest numbers show a significant decline for Bachmann and some improvement for Gingrich.

I doubt if Romney will get any votes from the trailing candidates.
Perry has put in two debate performances that have been characterized as weak by many.
If he can turn that around on in the next debate, he should jump way ahead.
Short memories. A few good lines from Newt and everyone forgets the “social engineering by the Right” comment and his other faux pas. They say smoking improves memory. Maybe we need more smokers.
Rollins was Bachmann’s most critical mistake. Rollins killed Bachmann and she let him do it.
I have a pretty solid track record over the years of contributing to losing candidates. Among those whom I have supported have been Alan Keyes, Ed Bryant (ran against Bob Corker), and Pat Buchanan. I have been contributing this year to Rick Santorum (sigh...3%).
With my track record I am thinking about contributing to candidates that I don’t like in order to jinx them. I doubt if Romney or Huntsman would notice the few extra dollars anyway.
I am also available for a price to contribute to any candidate anywhere in the U.S.that someone wants to lose in a big way. Just let me know.
Rollins was on TV last night claiming Bachmann can still win the IA caucus. That assumes she can stay in the race that long. At this point, I don’t know that she’ll be able to finance a campaign into January. Rollins, however, is Mr. Plugged-in to the IA Evangelical community, so if he calls that group out for her she has a fair shot at winning, assuming she can hold on.
Obama doesn't need any more money.
RE: I have a pretty solid track record over the years of contributing to losing candidates
If your streak of luck continues, I suggest you contribute to BOTH Mitt Romney and Barack Obama ASAP :)
No, not true.
Bachman jumped the shark herself. She is just not presidential quality material. She is a great conservative but is sorely lacking in skills required
So people, once again, are falling for the rinos.
We are both right....... ;>)
