Sarah Palin obviously isn’t even a declared candidate, but according to a new national poll she’s not only still well within the fray, but gaining speed:

That boom you just heard is Erick at RedState’s head exploding

Obama is a one term President so I say: Why not elect the most conservative candidate that will actually do what they say? I use to think that Sarah would be the one that would run the closest race. It seems apparently she might have the easiest time. I also believe Sarah will end up the “media darling” this time because she is the better story. Checkbook out, popcorn popping and ready to go to work here.

ACTUALLY, Sarah Palin is driving the message. That is hardly “nothing”. The other candidates are repeating her words and mimicing her, but everyone knows where it came from. SHE is the original and they are p-poor copies.

I must be obtuse—certainly not as smart as you. Exactly how is she doing nothing? She’s quoted almost daily. I particularly like her comment on polls—”they’re for strippers and skiers”. You do remember that one don’t you? Or, because you weren’t listening, did you just not hear it? She appears somewhere almost everyday to standing room crowds and revs their engines. She tweets and blogs to millions of people every day.

Yet you claim she’s doing nothing. What you really mean is that she’s doing nothing you want her to do. Are you really that arrogant?

And please spare me the snide observation about the difference between polls and poles. The point she was making transcends her use of poetic license.

Sarah isn't even in the race yet and she puts these people on the defensive.

Fact: Sarah Palin does better when she does nothing.

Palin people are the WORST at tearing down the REAL candidates and you are disgusting.

>>Actually, it isn't very flattering that she does better by doing nothing!<<

Do you mean other then she’s probably the most vetted person out there and as information comes out about the others she begins to shine?

That would be your opinion only (and not a very well presented one), hardly a fact.

Pointing out a candidate's record is not disgusting, ignoring their real record rather than paying attention to their sound bites might be.......

Oh, You mean when the "other" mainstream republicans parrot her issues? Or the fact that she has substance over style (as in some playing the "Texas" card to people)

Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, I guess some just can't handle the fact that Sarah is on the march, and we are marching with her.

Last night on Hannity, he was asking her about the other Republican Candidates, and she didn’t tear anyone down, but she said that people need to look @ their records of accomplishment......no other candidates has thrown members of both parties in jail, or started the largest civil engineering project in history, among other accomplishments. She’s runnin’.

What do you mean doing nothing. She’s been doing plenty, just not in the traditional, conventional, expected ways.

She’s has said repeatedly, that if she were to run a campaign, it would be unconventional.

She was looking very much like a contender on Hannity last night. Many Observers commented here on FR that it appears she may be doing speech therapy work because the new calmer soft spoken tone.

Just when I think, OK, maybe she is not running. I'm back to, Oh yea!, she's running.

While I put little faith in any polls this far out, I can’t help but think the other person whose head will explode is John McCain, the Great He who used Sarah Palin for his own sake and then expected her to sit down, shut up and slink away like a good little conservative miss should. What a delicious dish of schadenfreude that will be....

“What does it say about a would-be candidate that she does better by not campaigning and debating?”

It says that the candidate realizes that subjecting yourself to the media and their attempts to control the debate, and thus discredit and thereby choose who the candidates will be, this many months before the voting actually takes place, is a sucker’s bet.

“Actually, it isn’t very flattering that she does better by doing nothing!”

Actually, it isn’t very flattering to the mainstream media attempts to be the controlling player in our election process, because it proves the media attempt to choose our candidates, as described above, is not working.

Yep. Doesn’t want to hear rhetoric. Wants them to state their records and what they have done about what they TALK about. And that’s a good thing.
