Marines Hit the Ground Running in Seeking Recruits at Gay Center
New York Times ^ | September 20, 2011 | ELISABETH BUMILLER

TULSA, Okla. — Master Sgt. Anthony Henry, a top Marine recruiting trainer for the southwestern United States, pulled up to Tulsa’s biggest gay community center on Tuesday morning and left his Chevy where he could make a fast getaway. “I have an exit strategy,” he said. “I know where my choke points are, I’ve strategically parked my car right on the curbside, I have an out.”

But as it happened, one of the strangest days in the history of the United States Marine Corps unfolded without the protests and insults that Sergeant Henry had feared. Sergeant Henry, who had been invited to set up a recruiting booth on the first day of the end of “don’t ask, don’t tell” at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center in downtown Tulsa, instead spent it in quiet conversation with a trickle of gay women who came in to ask about joining the Marines.

I have been gone for awhile and come back to sheer ignorance. What happened to FR?

For a history teacher you are quick to jump to an ignorant conclusion; don't let your bias get the better of you by making a disingenuous assumption in the comparison of the IDF and the US military.

In the first place, the IDF are comprised of conscripts not volunteers. The IDF’s mission is vastly different from the US since the idiots in DC and the civilians are surrounded by Canadians and Mexican drug dealers, not countries that conclude you should not exist.

Survey in 2006 concluded that over 50% of the open purveyors of faggotry (There are purveyors of faggotry in the IDF who hide their perversion BTW) in the IDF are harassed

http://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?id=38711

Members of the IDF are stationed close to their homes, thus instead of barracks they go home to mom and dad. Also the IDF operate in tight knit groups which the purveyors of faggotry are often omitted, especially in elite units comprised primarily of Orthodox Jews. Those who are open usually serve in support roles.

The purveyors of faggotry in the IDF are often segregated. For example, the purveyors of faggotry have “the right” to take showers by themselves.

Even the pimps of faggotry, the “prestigious” Palm Center concluded in a IDF study in 2004 that: “A third argument that experts have invoked to show that foreign military experiences are irrelevant for determining whether lifting the gay ban would undermine American military performance is that important organizational and cultural differences distinguish the United States from other countries that allow known homosexuals to serve. More specifically, they argue that the U.S. military is a unique institution that cannot be equated with foreign armed forces.” If your scholarly inclinations lead you to read further, they conclude in Israeli's case, those evil promoters of Judea/Christian morality were correct in their point.

http://www.palmcenter.org/node/554

Quit comparing apples to oranges.

Got to go, need to fight off the narcissistic male pole smokers and narcissistic female carpet munchers that idiots in high office unleashed out in the open. If you will notice, the purveyors of faggotry are still whining and crying about being granted certain privileges. Wow, that is great for moral and cohesion...

So here’s the thought I keep coming back to: God is in control of everything that happens in this world. I don’t know why, but he’s allowed the gays to get into the U.S. military, and he’s slowly allowing more and more states to recognize gay marriage. Why? I can’t speak for him, but he’s all knowing so I have to trust him. Is he punishing America? Is he preparing America for some giant change in the world? Has he chosen another nation to be his standard-bearer in the coming centuries while leaving America behind? If so, which nation? I don’t know. I may not understand it and I may not like it, but I have to trust he knows what he’s doing. The question for me is to discern what he wants me to do in light of what is happening in the world.

As much as I disagree with this decision to permit homos serving openly, Conduct unbecoming is still Conduct unbecoming. PDA is still PDA.

If the homos think they’re going to receive special consideration in these regards, they’re in for a rude awakening. The UCMJ is written in such a way that any and all “sexual persuasions” are covered.

As a retired 1st Sgt., I can say that if I witnessed 2 homos in a PDA situation (while in uniform), I would take the appropriate actions. Same thing with “off-duty” incidents such as “unwanted sexual advances”. They would be viewed as sexual harassment.

We prosecuted heteros for adultery, underage sex, etc. There is nothing to prevent prosecution of homo’s under the same.

They don’t “own” the military and the vast majority of commanders and 1st Sgt’s will do what is necessary to maintain good order and discipline. If a homo can’t keep their sexual desires under control, they’ll be dealt with.

Not enough good people spoke up, so bad things have happened.

Yes we did, but the results were skewed. It was the annual (Army in my case) survey. I actually got to see the survey results after 0 bummer announced the repeal.

Mullen and the perfumed princes of the pantywaist Pentagon do not agree. They have already grabbed their ankles for the homo political lobby, and the only prosecutions they will sanction will be for "hate crimes" - - normal servicemen will be prosecuted every time a homo feels intimidated in any way.

Next comes quotas for homo officers. Count on it.

Time will tell, but there are many other avenues for commanders and 1st Sgts to pursue when it comes to these types of situations.

I have a great amount of faith in the military folks at the unit level to understand the breakdown in discipline that can occur if abherrent behavior isn’t corrected or stopped and for them to take appropriate measures. Perfumed princes are politicians, pure and simple. Yet, as you imply, they are in positions that could make things difficult for commanders.

The US military is very professionalized. The vast majority take their jobs quite seriously, as they should. They will not tolerate, let alone, permit an individual to create an atmosphere that causes servicemembers to lose focus on their mission.

Semper Fidelis. Always Faithful.

The Marines in this story are following orders. Lawful orders? Yes. Orders that are prejudicial to good conduct and order of the USMC? Yes. How are the two reconciled?

Will there be barracks justice as others on this thread have suggested? Yes. Will there then be recriminations against those who committed such acts? Yes. Will that lead to disharmony and disaster? Yes.

Will that disharmony hurt USMC combat effectiveness? I believe so. The Marine Corps will carry out its orders. One of the things to consider in light of DADT being repealed is that if the openly gay lifestyle is 'normalized' within the USMC the premise of following lawful orders that are contrary to the moral underpinnings of our society will undermine the check on government power that our citizen soldiery has always represented.

Anyone who believes that our military forces will not fire on US Civillians who oppose government policies, if given the order to do so, is living in a dream world. Furthermore, those of us who have gone before and lived and created the legacy of our armed services have essentially empowered this circumstance.

The implementation and the repeal of DADT is an assault on America and our Constitution. It is exactly contrary to the concept of Semper Fidelis. We the citizens who have allowed this to occur are not only culpable, we are responsible.

The SRM holly weird and the schools are pushing the gay agenda, and many people don’t want to be called out by them. Our LCMS congregation wants no part of that agenda. Way too many old timers.

What I was talking about is that we were asked what we thought, but the big shots in the Pentagon decided to do the bidding of congress and 0 bummer.

God’s teachings have given us his words to follow. This is man’s own doing. There is a good. There is a bad. It looks like a choice, people want special rights. It’s more of the liberals way of thinking being imposed.

And the gays will push any and all limits of the statement “openly serve.”

And that is the crux of the issue. As many others have stated, gays have always served in the US Military. It is the question not of rights but of "special rights" that will now pervade the discussion. IMHO, the citizenry has let down the military in this instance.

TS

True, but the citizenry has been and is being propagandized from kindergarten up to accept homosexuality as normal, and there are more and more penalties for saying anything against it.
