U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack told members of the National Restaurant Association on Monday that Americans need to adjust their tastes so that they like the kind of food the government believes they should eatand we have to make sure that what we do is create the appropriate transition.

Even O’bummer himself would be a more credible voice, though to really be a good example he ought to lay off the cigarettes too.
The junk food consumption used to be tempered with wholesome food and plenty of exercise. Now even “home-cooked meals” aren’t what they used to be, and playing outside is deemed unsafe or replaced by computer/electronic entertainment.
I see an inverse relationship between the amount of information on nutrition labels, and the quality of the food in the packages. It’s as if more and more cr@p is added in because there is the plausible deniability of “hey it’s on the label”. Hence some brands of “spaghetti sauce” are nothing more than sugar water. Nothing is what it appears to be. And who knows what’s really in the food labeled “product of China”.
Big Nanny Is Watching You.
I don’t doubt it :(
Is it me - or is Michelle auditioning for "Something About Moochelle" ...
Vilsack can suck my ##**sack. I’ll eat what I wish without the assistance of big brother in Washington, DC.
Yes, it is pretty amazing that an individual chooses to dine out for a variety of reasons ~~a celebration, a meeting, a change of pace...or because they have no time to cook/eat at home, and they cannot eat what they want?
Yet, how many times have we heard dear leader’s wife counter that it is all about discipline and proportion and once-in-a-while indulgence when she splurges**, etc. and is questioned (by media who dare) while doing so....
**Lobster, astronomically high calorie state and vacation dinners, self-admitted “French Fries is (sic) my favorite food in whole wide world” “Tacos are Michelle’s favorite food” according to dear leader...etc.
Such a double standard!!!

Oh happy happy joy joy! Now we can be automatons just like our brave revolutionary brothers and sisters of communist China. Those brave soldiers carry their little red books of Mao quotes everywhere they go. Now we can show the Obama Brigades that we are loyalists, too! If you are a true believer in the New World Order and the new communist revolution, you won’t want to be caught dead without this little Blue Book of Obama. Now if we can only muster up the resources to buy a plethora of train tickets to give those pesky, free-thinking American patriots and Christian zealots, we can send them to be re-educated (just as our socialist brothers in Germany did 65 years ago). If they are not receptive of the requisite schooling, we can teach them all about the efficient operation of ovens and lampshade manufacturing.
Indeed. Hopefully, his new job will afford him the opportunity to make helpful suggestions as to what Americans should eat, such as, Would you like fries with that?
Nah. That's old technology. The modern way to shop is with the EBT Card!

“...State Auditor General Jack Wagner says the Department of Public Welfare “roadblocked” an audit of a program that permits those on welfare to access money for food stamps and other aid.
Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards, a/k/a ACCESS cards, are used by roughly 750,000 needy Pennsylvanians to get about $200 million a month in support...”
As an Australian, I have to say, that’s a whole lot of ‘poor people’ in one State...we could probably run our entire country on that.
I get red bean paste buns and doughnuts at the Vietnamese bakery inside the local Super H-Mart grocery. The clerks often seem surprised to see a white guy buying them.
Hey USDA Secretary, just where in the U. S. Constitution did you read that garbage? I had to look at it again, and never saw anything about what YOU or anyone else in the government should tell me or anyone what to eat.
I quit eating salt quite a few years ago. The only time I use salt is when I cook certain food, especially BBQ. We went out to eat several months ago, and I sent my plate back because it was so salty, I could not taste the actual food.
“Hmmm, Well I am sure the teacher in the period following the black BEAN brownie distribution could tell the difference between chocolate and BEAN...with her nose! Yikes.”
Not only that, but beans cause global warming.
I went out with work to lunch the other day to Longhorn Steakhouse. It was almost inedible, all I could taste was salt/MSG/Spice on the steak. IMHO, the steak is what you're there to eat, and it's not just a means of transporting Salt from the shaker to your mouth.
>>No. They just THINK they own us. If they keep pushing this crap, theyll get a wake up call soon enough.
There are still some “ferals” in the herd, but most of them don’t realize how domesticated they really are or how harmless they are. As long as the government/corporations can keep providing some luxuries and food to the sheep, the sheep will not take any action. Those who do strike a blow will be attacked by the sheep (McVeigh, Breivik, Terry Jones, etc). A single member of the herd who lashes out is easily beaten, discredited, and demonized as a lesson to the rest of the herd. Our masters in the government and corporations have fine-tuned their processes to keep us enslaved, but we are slaves living in comfort. Even if they cut our standard of living in half, we’re still pretty comfortable and well-fed.
You can tell yourself that when you go down, you’re going down fighting and you’re going to take some of them with you. We don’t really think like that. Modern Americans don’t trade their lives for just a few of the enemy if they can prevent it. Americans always think they good will prevail and things will get better, so throwing away your life to make a point is meaningless.
After a couple decades of living in the post-Obama communist state, people will finally be ready to die to take a few of them out and win freedom for someone else.
That filling is really good if you can get past what it is.
I never told my daughters and they thought the black bean paste was chocolate.
