Issa to launch probe of Obama actions on Solyndra, LightSquared
The Hill ^ | September 20, 2011 | Justin Sink

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Tuesday that his committee plans to investigate government loan programs to private corporations in light of allegations of improper dealings between the White House and failed energy company Solyndra and wireless startup LightSquared.

"I want to see when the president and his cronies are picking winners and losers… it wasn't because there were large contributions given to them," the chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee said Tuesday morning on CSPAN.

Issa said the committee was looking at whether it was improper for members of Congress or White House staff to select companies eligible for subsidized government loans when those companies could give campaign donations. Loan programs have been a popular tool to provide funding for popular industries - like tech, green energy, and American auto companies - at more favorable terms than could be secured privately.

Good for Issa but it’s probably a waste of time. No one will touch Obama. But even if it only embarrasses the moron in chief, it will be worth it.

With all these high level investigations, Issa is going to need a bigger committee!

The latest DNC spin is that every administration makes a few bad judgment calls like this.

Bad judgment is official policy of the Obama Administration.

Yep... the first “black” president is untouchable... problem is, he knows it and so do we, yet, everybody must act as if it aint so to keep from erupting into a race war... oops, did I go too far?...

Issa also needs our prayers. He seems to be virtually alone in investigating the regime.

It’s time for the Department of Black Justice to appoint a prosecutor.

What is this, some kind of dog and pony show? Issa is well aware that Holder already sent the FBI in there to “raid” the place and get control of every last shred of evidence so it could be cleaned up or destroyed. It’s too late.

Honest question, with all due respect...does Issa ever get anywhere? It seems like I'm always hearing about him investigating but I don't seem to hear much by way of results.

I admit it might just be me not paying close enough attention.

Thanks for the link....

Despite these revelations, Grassley said there will not likely be any hearings convened by the Democrat-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee.

So, I'd think therein lies the issue? The administration is basically untouchable until Jan 2013?

"Issa is well aware that Holder already sent the FBI in there"

So, play The Game. Call every one of those agents in front of the Committee!. Then call their bosses, and their bosses, and so on up the chain. Play The Game.

these things takes years. we’re about as likely to see a Congressional budget passed (not via omnibus) as see the end result and/or prosecution.

Have there been any statements by any politician concerning this issue. All I hear is a deafening silence on such an important issue. Am I missing something, or is this much ado about nothing?

We now only have a sense of outrage about the inconsequential and the trivial, but we no longer object to fraud, graft, and corruption. My daughter returned from several African countries after living there awhile, and it seems her descriptions of the graft and corruption there fit equally well here in the US, except we do it up on a larger scale.

God help the Republic if it continues to be ruled by a black-hearted people. Where is the leadership for change?

The State of California gave serious tax breaks to Solyndra, also.

They have screwed over a large number of taxpayers.
