When Navy Lt. Gary Ross and his partner were searching for a place to get married, they settled on a site in Vermont, in part because the state is in the Eastern time zone.

That way, the two men were able to recite their vows before family and friends at the first possible moment after the formal repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. Just after midnight Tuesday, the partners of 11 years were married.

And this muslim-in-cheif didn’t even offer those that volunteered (which is everyone) for service under a DADT policy the option to get out now that he changed the rules on them.

True. That should have been done, but then again, I'm not surprised it wasn't with Obama there.

I have had to sit through a gay-sensitivity training briefing and keep my mouth shut and hold my food down. I'm glad that when I return from my up coming deployment I only have a couple of years to go before I retire.

I did the slide show. Missed the lecture because of an appointment. I can’t wait for the first smart assed GI to complain about why he can’t have his GI girlfriend as a roommate.

Let’s not forget how all these “social engineering” processes come about...
now that DADT is repealed, any “hindrance” on the gay process of “acceptance” will be challenged continually in the courts...
this LT’s “wife” will sue for spousal benefits, for PDA (read: kisses at homecomings)and if there’s any suspicion of “discrimination” in promotion boards, they will sue...
O’bummer and the senior officers who have done this are getting what they want - emasculation of our mighty military...
we should NEVER let them forget what they have done!

yes it can.

In fact it should be pushed.

Remember the MSM is blacking this story out. No pictures by design. No coverage by design.

Time to start banning homosexuals from combat duty.

In four years in the Corps, 65-69, I never saw or learned of one homosexual. There must have been a few hiding out, but the culture of the Corps would not have made it very pleasant to be outed.

Why our DI's had great fun reading the statistics of how many in each service were kicked out for homo activity each month, no idea.

There are quite a few lesbians or bi lesbian oriented females especially in the enlisted ranks. However, most of these women strongly identify with the Army and don’t attempt to subvert good order and discipline by organizing a lavender mafia that is blatant and obvious. Also many of these women genuinely like male soldiers and try hard to be one of the ‘guys’. Openly homo males are an entirely different matter.

You are correct. The next step is for the GLBT pressure groups to start up the campaign for ‘adequate representation’ of openly gay officers in the O-5/6 selection lists and a demand for an ‘openly gay’ GO/Flag Officer. (Yes, I know the bad puns about rear admirals and rump rangers but it will be a rueful comment on the true situation.)

Just got the official email. They said that the homos would not be treated as EEO and that DOMA is still the law of the land. Zero and his boys are trying to fix that though.

Yep exactly. The rats in Congress as soon as the next election is over will start working with he ‘gay rights’ groups to push for protected class status for queer behavior. The usual suspects will be trotted out to tell their sob stories about being persecuted fir ‘being how G-d made them’. The scummy lawyers with these groups will be around to file law suits at the drop of a hat. Enough law suits mean wrecked careers and queers become radioactive to superior officers and nco’s in the same way woman who want to be more equal than others in uniform have done so destructively. Openly gay males, however, present inherently more potentialities for destruction of good order and discipline in the ranks.

Anybody know if the military has figured out what the living arrangements in the barracks will be?

Right now, heterosexual personnel are just going to have to suck it up [no pun intended]. Living in a common barraks will be easier than if assigned two to a room [like I was in the USAF].

BUT, I do see the potential for problems down the road - especially "blanket parties" ... Got soap, anyone ???

No changes. Problems will be left up to the local units. I can see major issues in the dorms.

Toga parties - OUT ... Blanket parties - IN ...

Now, since women are banned from serving on submarines - for obvious reasons. I assume a new rule banning Openly Homosexual sailors from serving on Subs - for obvious reasons - will be issued at any moment.

*****

Guess you haven’t seen this ...

http://www.navy.mil/search/display.asp?story_id=52954

MAJOR problems can occur. It is currently policy to remove women from ships as soon as they are found to be pregnant. This compromises the stealth capabilities of “Boomers”, who typically leave port, dive, and DO NOT surface until the end of their patrols.

If women are on Boomers and are found to be pregnant, are they gonna have to tough it out till the end of patrol - or is the Navy gonna have the sub surface so that they can be removed?

My guess is that women will be prohibited from Boomers - or that the Navy will only allow them to serve on Boomers if it is an all-female crew ...

Thing is, it would be nice to think the culture of the Corps would insulate it, but that won’t happen. Litigation trumps culture every time, as we have seen. Not something I wish on the Navy, but too late for that, and I definitely don’t wish it on the Corps, but I don’t see how it won’t infiltrate.
