Chicago Editorial Writer Suggests Obama Step Down After First Term [Run Hillary, Run!]
FoxNews.com ^ | Sept. 19, 2011 | staff

President Obama's hometown newspaper has some startling advice for the commander-in-chief -- quit while you're behind.

Citing the president's record-low approval ratings and unease in the Democratic base, a Chicago Tribune editorial writer recommended over the weekend that Obama need not feel obligated to run for a second term.

Steve Chapman said that with Obama facing the prospect of a double-dip recession and, if he wins reelection, a gridlocked second term, it might be better to call it a presidency and let someone else -- maybe Hillary Clinton -- carry the Democratic mantle in the 2012 election.

Nah...All that will happen is zero will “will nto seek a second term in order to spend time with his family” but leave a parting gift of massive entitlements in a “bill” that the next looter Dem will hoist up as “All hail what the mighty zero left for us to get passed! I will take this torch and run for all you looters in the name of our messiah!!”. The “blacks” wil bitch and moan but come crawling out of their section 8’s election day for some of that obama stash.

I fear Hillary! will not be much of an improvement. I already see signs of a push for her starting. Praise for her, airbrushed photos, etc.

If we apply FReeper logic, Hillary is not running because she has not announced yet (like another female some would like to see for President).

Dream on. Obama’s ego and narcissism would never let him voluntarily step aside IMO.

barry and moochelle like being king and queen way too much...then PIAPS as SOS, has a pretty awful track record...like UN gun whatever...supporting the commie thug in Honduras...etc...people ain't goin' trust any dem.

Don't forget Libya, and the whole "Arab spring" mega-disaster. And the treatment of Israel. All highly unpopular with the public, all on Hillary!'s watch.

Buyer's remorse?

No kidding. The Obama campaign got considerable mileage out of the Chicago Tribune's first-ever endorsement of a Democrat in 2008. What were they thinking?

Lets everybody just remember that Hillary shares the same values as Obama, she supports infanticide at every level.

She supports a Democrat Supreme Court, she supports removal of God`s Word from the classroom/public square etc.

She supports removal of Christian crosses from veterans cemeteries etc.

I believe it even means she supports a Cross of Jesus in a glass of urine. And is happy to call it art.

I suppose if she was to challenge Obama in the primary and lose to Obama by a hair, that would be a very good outcome, but we certainly do not want to run against anybody but Obama

This is but one reason why Republicans should not be running against Obama but instead the Democrat policies he epitomizes.

Can she face running against the might of the Obamedia again? She’d better hire sombody to start ironing perfect creases in her pants suits right away then...AND she can truthfully claim SHE created a job!

Ok, all riotous laughter aside... what if Sarah Palin ran for POTUS as a... (shudder) Democrat?

That seems about as likely as OholyO bowing out for 2012.

>>That’s a fact, and the only person who can convince blacks to vote for someone else is the Narcissist in Chief himself.

That’s what’s so great about American blacks. Their bench is really deep with “leaders”. Maybe Hillary can get Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, or Kanye West to campaign for her and drive the herd.

It’s not a bad idea. Clinton would be formidable.

True. She actually has an impressive resume as a First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State. If I were the R POTUS candidate I'd want to run against "The Guy That Screwed Everything Up."

"...the only person who can convince blacks to vote for someone else is the Narcissist in Chief himself. Can you really picture him campaigning for Hillary - or any other lesser being?"

He'll pull and LBJ, citing "health reasons" (generate sympathy). Then Oprah will step in.

Don't laugh.

“Run Hillary Run!”

Don’t see it happening for a lot of reasons. First, as other posters have noted, she needs the black vote to win. If barky isn’t on the ticket, fahgeddaboutit. And even if barky were to voluntarily step down, blacks would always believe that he was pushed aside. It’s just not a winner for her politically.

Second, and I think more importantly, I really don’t think she wants the job. If a politician is potentially interested in a job but doesn’t want to be seen as disloyal, they’ll never directly answer the question. They cage their answer by saying: “I can’t predict what I’ll be doing in 2 years” or some other obfuscation. She has been asked and has said flat out no, she’s not interested in sticking around. In unusually blunt terms.

While hillary clinton is a lot of things, stupid isn’t one of them. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the S is about to HTF. Big time. On a lot of different fronts. As Sec. of State she is probably more informed than a whole lot of us as to how and why. Running for President? She’s probably ticking off the days to January 2013 when she can get the heck out of dodge.

“What if Sarah Palin ran for POTUS as a... (shudder) Democrat?”

It’s actually not too bad of an idea, and about the way she thinks, but she has a better chance of winning by running as a 3rd party candidate instead. And I don’t think she’ll do that, either.

Having been born in Berlin, in early May of 1945, Hilary is ineligible. Not that it matters.
