I can assure you that there is nothing in my life that will embarrass you if you decide to support me for president, Perry said.
Anita Perry also faced questions, the source said. One questioner wanted to know if the first lady shared her husband's conservative views on gay marriage and abortion. She assured the participants that she did.

Perry also indicated during this q/a session that he would not have a VP that did not share his pro-life stance (no Giuliani).
I’m an evangelical, and I’m embarrassed, for him, that he makes exceptions on abortion, and thinks it is a states’ rights matter, instead of what it actually is, a question of God-given, unalienable right.
I am sure the Dems are digging and the fact that they didn’t come up with anything, is a pretty good indication there is nothing to find. I am sure they were digging when he was running for TX governor too.
I think he is the real deal and what the country needs now.
He shouldn't have to look far in today's GOP for a politician who also ignores the Reagan personhood, Fourteenth Amendment plank.
Why would a cross between Joe Isuzu and Elmer Gantry be an embarrassment?
Given the sheer number of things that embarass some people, I’m wondering how he can be sure of such a claim. I mean, lets face it, some people would be embarassed to be associated with him if they found out he made a typo!
That said, it will be interesting to see how well he backs that up.
Uh, Reagan believed abortion was an issue of state’s rights.
I am unfamiliar with your talking points. The point is, his history is clean. He’s a good man that will never produce an embarassing skeleton. The guy doesn’t even have an ex-girlfriend. Nita is the only one.
So, you're saying that the Constitution as written doesn't support the defense of innocent persons.
Or, are you saying that unborn babies aren't persons?
Which is it?
'Cause, I have my copy right here and it, in multiple amendments, says:
"No State shall deprive any person of life without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.""No person shall be deprived of life without due process of law."
Bush claimed there were no skeletons in his closet back in 2000 but the Dems held onto that DUI arrest until the final weekend before the election. If the Dems haven’t revealed any dirt yet iy doesn’t mean they don’t have any. Unlike Republicans, Democrats will keep quiet about opposition dirt until it is politically expedient to release it to their complicit media.
He is referring to his morality. He’s not a drinker, never did drugs, he’s had one girlfriend in his life — and he married her, he has never cheated on her, etc. He was a boyscout...and still is.
I’m not interested in your Straw Man at the moment, EV. Reagan was a supporter of states rights on abortion, too. And just so you know, that is the first and best way to start phasing it out, but then you appear to be too short-sighted and married to ideology to see that.
I was referring to the Reagan pro-life plank that has been in the GOP platform for the last twenty-seven years.
You're not familiar with that?
Not surprising, since Governor Perry is also unfamiliar with it as well, apparently. Or, he's simply ignoring it.
As to the rest of it, good for him. But I'd support someone who had had moral lapses but understood the first principles of the country before I would support someone like, say, Romney, who looks all squeaky clean but has a baby-killing, homosexual loving, gun-banning, socialist record on public policy.
Or someone like Perry who thinks states' rights trump the God-given, unalienable right to life of the individual person.
A fine campaign statement pre-information age. Today, you had better be able to back it up. Perry can.
Come on! Do you honestly believe that.
Nothing to see here ... move along.
Okay. You sit there on the sidelines, tangled helplessly in your ideology. In the meantime, the reasonable people among us (myself and Perry included), are going to get rid of abortion in this country. We’ll do it by giving the choice back to the states, then phasing it out state-by-state with a vote.
