Report says we have more oil than we thought
Houston Chronicle ^ | 9/15/2011 | Tom Fowler

Posted on 09/16/2011 1:38:46 PM PDT by Obadiah

A new report that predictably found huge potential natural gas supplies in the U.S. also contained news its own writers found surprising - that oil is more abundant than they thought.

"Contrary to conventional wisdom the North American oil resource base also could provide substantial supply for decades ahead," the report said.

There is simply no reason whatsoever that we should be paying nearly $4 per gallon of gas. This article serves as further proof that Obama and Liberals have been highly successful at strangling off our own oil supply. Meanwhile we export billions and billions of dollars to the Middle East and elswhere to buy oil that we already have sitting in the ground. But what the heck, we don't need those dirty oil jobs anyway.

Funny, drill more, but no one wants to build a refinery in the north.

As much as I would love to blame all this on Obama and the liberals, Republicans in elected office have been all to willing to mandate planting windmills, subsidize ethanol fields, and sun ray catchers.

We have enough oil domestically for 1,000 years. Yes, ONE THOUSAND years.

We will NEVER run out of oil. We will stop using it long before it is gone. How do I know? Simple economics: the law of supply and demand would never let us pump the last barrel from the ground because noone would pay the price required.

Yes, I agree, but it has been Liberals that have driven this insane policy for decades. Without the underlying support of the corrupt Liberals who control the MSM there would have been little stomach for any Republican to chase the absurd environmental policies that have painted us in this corner.

Republicans pander to those great mysterious Independents who watch CBS “news” and utterly believe every word that proceeds out from the soft warm glow of their TV set.

OPEC and The EPA didn’t want us to know that.

You’re absolutely right. The Muslim Marxist wont let us drill for it because he has to send dollars to his Saudi masters to finance terror against us.

When Obama is gone, hopefully President Perry will let oil companies drill like crazy, and let utilities start building nuclear plants while we’re at it.

It is not just the Obamunists that are at fault.

We have been talking about becoming energy independent ever since the 1973 oil embargo and we haven’t done sh*t about it. We have allowed the EPA and and lefty environmentalists to set the rules in our country and Congress just looked away and sat on their hands.

Go to West Texas and see how these stupid and inefficient windmills pollute the landscape while the real energy is IN THE GROUND and not on top of it.

Every economic analysis indicates that O-I-L and coal are more efficient (and therefore cheaper) than ethanol, windpower or solar cell.

That is correct, follow it to the environmentalists and the follow it to OPEC. OPEC is the largest supporter of the environmental movement.

More Mythanol Producers will be declaring bankruptcy along with the Gorebull Warming bs artists pushing solar, wind, and other worthless so alternative energy products.

There never has been an oil shortage! This phoney oil shortage is another myth pushed on us by the OPECKer princes, the green eco terrorists, epa, Gore, the 40 $inators from corn raising states and other worthless creatures.

Let all of the green sham shysters go broke.

The green eco terrorists, who pushed this phoney baloney shortage bs on America have done more to hurt the poor and middle class than any other group in the past 3-4 decades.

Fire Lord Ohaha in the next election and the bs $inators, who have backed the insanity of eco terrorism against America. Close the EPA and other government agencies trying to control everything we use in life. Then watch our economy soar and unemployment drop like a rock tossed in a cess pool.

Interested in the 1,000 year supply number. I’m a firm believer that there is no such thing as “peak oil”, but I’d like to know where I can find this 1,000 year figure in writing.

>Funny, drill more, but no one wants to build a refinery in the north.<

.
As long as we have the EPA and the environmentalists setting the rules, no oil company would be in its right mind to build a refinery in the US.

I can just see that poor refinery manager getting abused every time he has a little oil spill, every time his flare lights up, every time he has a release of a mysterious white cloud (steam) and lawyers and the local mayor kicking in his office door. No thanks.
