Rick Perry Is the New Chuck Norris - "Gun control is hitting what you aim at"
National Journal ^ | September 15, 2011 | Elspeth Reeve

Want proof? Here's a video Perry made for the National Rifle Association's convention in April. It opens with a bunch of old guys in t-shirts shooting big guns at stationary targets while the camera shakes to boost the suspense. Then the video cuts to a guy in a black polo shooting stuff -- it's Rick Perry!

Nice innuendo. If you’re going to claim someone “sounds” like someone else, you ought to have a quote from that someone to compare.

Viz. in-state tuition: you obviously haven’t read the law that you claim to criticize, so you have utterly no basis - other than your personal hatred for Perry - to criticize.

It would seem that the hard right, just like the democrats/liberals, want to “keep ‘em down on the plantation.” How come? Afraid it might get too expensive to have someone mow your lawn?

he also gave Massachusetts a permanent assault weapon ban. Thwere’s no way I will vote for him under any circumstances. I’d seriously rather fight with Obama for another four years. Like I said, I’ll vote for Perry if and when the time comes.

Andrew Romano: But just to be clear: if border security is accomplished, you can envision some sort of path to citizenship for people who are here illegally.

Rick Perry: Sure.

Like I said, I'll vote for him but I'm not OK with amnesty.

LOL.

Chuck Norris didn’t give 20 million dollars to Angelo Mozilo.

When did Governor Perry’s administration comprehend the predatory nature of Countrywide Financial; and WHAT did Perry do about the criminals responsible for it?

Immigrants have been flooding into the US from South America for the last century. That would be 5 generations.

There is no practical way to process and deport 12 million illegal residents, some elderly, some recent arrivals and many minor children.

I am waiting for someone to present a PRACTICAL, HUMANE, CONSTITUTIONAL solution to a very difficult dilemma.

Does each State have a census for its illegal population?
Are States ‘allowed’ to deport all criminals?

Is the Federal Government prepared for each State to ship their illegals & paperwork to INS in Washington DC and tell them to ‘HANDLE THIS’?

And why Perry and those who say the border must be sealed before any other conversation can take place, are holding their ground. The Left just wants to keep doing the same thing over and over and over again — never fix the problem because to the Left it isn’t a problem; to the Left, an unsecured border means an endless supply of potential social justice victims and eventual Democratic Party voters.

Just for fun, “Stymie”, of Little Rascals, and his mom, giving a demonstration of local dialect:

“Styyymieeee..... where you at?” “Right here where I is...” “You get over from where you is, to where I is....”

(I know, I need to turn myself in to #attackwatch for racist speech.)

Actually I love all the Little Rascals

The end game will be fixing Mexico to the point where her citizens go home since life south of the Rio Grande is preferable to life in the US. Does this mean invading Mexico (and calling it something else)? One of their recent presidents asked which we’d prefer, fixing Mexico from soup to nuts or continuing to allow Mexico to dump her unwanted, uneducated over the border. And if we choose the latter, then educating them is in our best interest. Plan A or Plan B. And no, I don’t like either choice; but who said life was fair.

I don’t know if you’re right, but I do know “hitting at what you aim” sounds stupid...

I do have a Masters in English but that is meaningless. As one of my professors stated - if it sounds wrong it is wrong. You, as a native English speaker are more important than any dictionary or grammar book or a guy with an MA in English. Trust yourself and you will be correct 99% of the time because you are a native English speaker and you represent the grammar as it is now spoken and not the other way around.

I agree with you completely. I tried my best to get “hitting at what you aim” to sound OK and it just does not. “Hit what you aim at” is perfect English as spoken by native speakers.

I have had serious reservations about Rick Perry. Is he for real or is he just playing how we want him to play so he can get elected. I have no doubts about Herman Cain or even Newt (although he does not excite me). Romney is IMHO pure Grade F RINO. I wonder if he can hit what he aims at?

Apparently Rick Perry can control his guns better than his prepositions.

An Aggie on Harvard campus stops another student and asks, "Can you tell me where the library is at?"

Harvard student says, "You shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition!"

Aggie says, "Oh! Well, can you tell me where the library is at, a$$hole?"

Perry is an Aggie!!!!!!!!!!!

but of course the preposition at the end of the sentence is also fodder for criticism.

This preposition scandal will sink him. No true conservative would be so weak on grammar. This just proves what a RINO he is. He will be attacked in the primaries and, if he wins the nomination, he will be hounded by the media and Obama on his sentence structure. They will use it to frighten English teachers, who vote in droves. I think he made a grave error with this. He needs to come out with a strong statement regarding proper sentence format, or he's sunk. Regardless, I will never vote for him now.

(Do I need the tag?)
