SAN FRANCISCO - Still smarting from the Legislature's defeat of his tax and jobs plan, Gov. Jerry Brown accused Republican lawmakers tonight of an "unconstitutional delegation of power," saying they are controlled by the anti-tax group Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.

"The Republicans in Sacramento have one jockey," Brown said in a fiery speech to about 1,000 nurses at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis.

The Democratic governor said some Republican senators told him they would like to vote for the measure but couldn't because of the association's political clout.

Now, after months of failed negotiations with Republicans, Brown said, "At least I know who to talk to."

Is Jerry willing to apply the same standard to the Democrap party and school unions?

I suspect moonbeam plans on continuing this shtick for the remainder of his term. He’s not going to do anything substantive, with him it’s all about having a job.

“Brown said, ‘At least I know who to talk to’”. - his imaginary friend Stevie. “Stevie understands me” said Brown. “We’re a lot alike in that neither one of us has a brain.”

This was probably right after Brown thanked the California Nurses Association for giving him the governorship.

Jerry Brown has it exactly right. The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association is to Republicans in California what Grover Norquist is to Republicans nationwide.

Prop. 13 is the third rail in California, and Howard Jarvis was it's Moses.

Most of the power in California has been relocated to Sacramento because Prop. 13 turned a normally locally determined tax into a state mandated one.

Also, since Prop. 13 only applied its 2/3rd voting requirement to taxes we have runaway government spending without taxation. Some people think that's better than runaway spending and taxation, but future generations might not be as sanguine.

What a putz. Someone remind him of Pelosi’s passing Obamacare by means of threats, bribery, extortion, fraud, perjury, and anti-American hatred.

Speaking of unconstitutional moonbeam, how is it you can even be the governor?

Jerry needs to lose lots of fellow Democrats in government here.
If you ask people in CA if they would like their taxes raised they vote no.
Democrats don’t want the truth, especially Brown doesn’t want to hear it.

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry...

“...unconstitutional delegation of power...?”

Quit using those big words.

You’re stupid.

You know it, we know it, you know we know it, and we know you know that we know it.

Inhale another toke, go to the beach, take a swim...and keep going west.

Hmmmm...let's see here:

CA State Senate breakdown: 25D/15R
CA Assembly: 52D/28R

And the GOP is to blame. Blow it out your ass, Governor Moonbeam.

He argued the term limit didn’t apply retroactively and some judge bought it.
