Many supporters of Gov. Perry have come to his defense over this Gardasil matter. The arguments are: (1) Gardasil should have been mandatory with the "opt-out" provision; (2) No big deal because the Texas legislature killed the Executive Order; or (3) as Perry says today, he made a mistake, should have made it "opt-in." Now comes word that Perry's top donor was the Republican Governors Association and that Merck began donating to RGA when Perry became its head.
Indeed, for someone claiming not to “be” for Perry, you immediately employed one of the main talking points which is to denigrate Reagan in an attempt to somehow make Perry look better. You’re also employing talking point #1 by implying/inferring that I, the PREMIER anti-Slick Willard exposer on FR since 2006, am supporting his candidacy.
If you are seriously implying that Captain Gardasil is like Reagan in any way is laughably absurd. Indeed, the one thing he, Slick Willard and Emperor Zero all share in common... they all voted against Reagan.
Oh, and yes, one enormous mistake you make in supporting Perry... is that you “listen and read” his statements. RINOs and their Democrat friends have an especially nasty habit of lying during campaign time. You always pay attention to what they DO in office and ignore the rest. That way you’ll know if they’re the real deal. Some of us here knew Perry never was.
No, we won’t. You might, but then you love RINOs.
I wholeheartedly invite you to try holding your breath until that happens.
Make up your mind. Do you want a Republican or a Conservative?
Newt is the only Republican Conservative and he’s not going to make it much longer.
And I said the same about McCain. Voting for Sarah was my excuse.
You’ll do the same because you know in your heart that Perry will get the nomination and you’ll either work for him or against him.
"People may wonder what the urgency is in addressing these cancers, but the numbers are staggering," said Jan Coebergh. (...) But the study - by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation - found that breast cancer kills 425,000 women a year while cervical cancer takes 200,000 lives. (...) The study also found that cervical cancer cases increased from 378,000 in 1980 to about 454,000 cases in 2010, with most of those cases in developing countries.http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504763_162-20106719-10391704.html
I think it's inappropriate to downplay the seriousness of cervical cancer for the purposes of a political discussion.
Those that die of cervical cancer are usually women who did not get regular pap smears."
I believe you fail to understand that Hispanics are a majority in Texas. Hispanics in Texas have both an extremely high teen-pregnancy rate and poverty rate. Taken together, those rates indicate that a significant majority is at risk of contracting HPV and is unlikely to receive regular screening.
Perry's EO was the wrong way to address the situation, but that doesn't change the seriousness of the situation itself.
The vaccination series is much cheaper than the treatment.
“I dont care if he becomes president, but I do care if he gets fair treatment.”
Fair??? He couldn’t have careed less about fair when he thought he could demand such a thing and take away the rights of parents and the children to make decisions for themselves.
TO HELL WITH RINO PERRY!!!
Perry was a Democrat until he was 40 years old and it shows.
2007/08... Slick Willardbot rant...
“You’ll vote for Willard because you know in your heart that he will get the nomination and you’ll either work for him or against him.”
Looks like I was agin’ Willard in ‘08 and helped bring down that fraud and I’m proud to be agin’ Slicky Ricky in ‘11 ‘n ‘12 and bring him down.
TIMBER !
The question Perry will have to answer if he is the nomineee.
Flu shot company probably didn’t give him a big enough kickback.
That will certainly be the tact that the Dem operatives will take.
It would be almost pointless to mandate flu vaccines. The influenza viruses and therefore vaccines change every flu season. They’d have to mandate a new vaccine every flu season. The HPV vaccine is a once and done series of three shots.
Note that cervical cancer deaths in Texas are among the highest in the nation.
Worldwide, influenza kills between 250,000 - 500,000 each year. Worldwide, cervical cancer kills between 250,000 - 300,000. Cervical cancer isn’t trivial.
There is no long term data as to whether or not Gardasil is one series of three shots or if there will need to be boosters. The reason for this is simple, there is no population group of 12 year olds who have even reached the age of 20 yet.
And no they would not have to mandate a new vaccine every year, they would simply have to mandate flu shots every year.
What Perry talking points? Don't have time for anybody’s talking points. If you want to discuss things as conservatives then please do so, and have something salient to say that isn't guided by ill informed assumptions or driven by amateurish personal characterizations.
There isn't one candidate that is the conservative Reagan was. Add to that the several here violating the Reagan rule for republicans, and you'll be spinning your wheels as you race each other to the circular firing squad.
Tiring to read the nit picks about penny ante state level pharma influence money, when the real threat is taking money out of our national lifeblood filling political coffers as he takes us into 3rd world oblivion. Merck and Pfizer and PHARM-PAC already got obamacare— on the texas level it's chickenfeed, and they grease everyone nationally, but especially obama. Markets developed for products like Gardasil (or viagra for that matter) because of our own moral decay. Personally, couldn't care less if the sub-classes are all made sterile by HPV, except for the fact it spreads to productive society thanks to the moral decay of our hip-hop diverse jived society.
We have to defeat an utter non American muslim creature who is destroying our nation. A narcissistic liar from start to finish, supported by a collection of neo-Marxists, race baiters, queers, welfare pimps and open border drug gangs propped up by internet global warming greenies and one world venture socialists with overwhelming govt. interference in every facet of our lives. Should be easy, right? Oh, nooooo.....
Y'all want to wallow in petty texas pissant politics instead— have at it, sure it will produce a winner. Recommend dumping karl rove asap-we don't need any more out of touch Bushies or Palin-bashers
Deo Vindice.

That is exactly what I do and it is exactly what I have done with Mitt Perry.
The man's liberal record as governor of Texas disqualifies him from getting my vote.
Perry is an ethical disaster. The guy is a walking October Surprise. He's poison. You can yell until you're blue in the face about Obama being worse, but the same red flags are there that were there with Obama. He's even got a Rezko-style land deal in his past.
So, it isn't just this Gardasil issue. There is a pattern. We aren't just a bunch of malcontents who want to screw everything up for the GOP. We're people who want someone who sincerely wants to work on FIXING the problems that have brought our nation to its knees. Rick Perry's past is littered with indications that he is part of the problem and not part of the solution.
DJ is 100% right about not bothering to listen to what any of these guys say now unless it matches what they've done in the past. I sometimes wonder what the hell is wrong with people when they believe some obvious BS like John "build the dang fence" McCain does when he's running for re-election. Same with Perry.
In addition to his ethical problems, which are my main beef, there is the additional fact that the Rick Perry who runs for office always seems to be a whole lot more conservative than the Rick Perry who actually shows up for work once elected. That's another huge problem.
Appreciate the info and it bears looking into. We have to find a true conservative.
