Perry: Wrong then or wrong now
September 14, 2011 | Vanity

Posted on 09/14/2011 5:34:41 PM PDT by MN_Mike

Many supporters of Gov. Perry have come to his defense over this Gardasil matter. The arguments are: (1) Gardasil should have been mandatory with the "opt-out" provision; (2) No big deal because the Texas legislature killed the Executive Order; or (3) as Perry says today, he made a mistake, should have made it "opt-in." Now comes word that Perry's top donor was the Republican Governors Association and that Merck began donating to RGA when Perry became its head.

A good question for you ~ why is it all the Texas Presidents have been Navy boys instead of US Army Infantrymen?

Dwight D. Eisenhower was in the Army and George W. Bush was in the Air Force as was Perry, if you assume he gets elected. If it were true, however, why would that matter? Is there something wrong with serving in the Navy?

And note all of the following talking points...

#2, You just want to elect Zero

#4, Reagan’s not perfect (or various Reagan slander)

#5, Gratuitous insults and threats (You’re a DU troll!)

#9, He’s the ONLY electable conservative (Because we say so!)

#10, And just who do YOU support??

... are recycled talking points that the Trumpistas used on FR to tout their RINO (back when he was “the only candidate with the guts to take on Obama”)

I added point #7 higher up the thread. That’s the one where we’re claimed to want teenage girls to die from cancer. If it wasn’t so vile, it would be hillarious. And these bots have the nerve to criticize us as being vicious and hateful !

Geesh, you're right, there's sounding more and more like Mitt fans every day. You were warning us about Mitt's army during the 2008 primaries and I never realized how bad they were until AFTER the primary cycle. They invaded FR in droves and tried to bully everyone into supporting Mitt for McCain's running mate, claiming ANYONE who questioned the genius of such a ticket was an nasty anti-Mormon bigot! Talk about pathetic leftist style demagogues.

Now we're getting that kind of slime from St. Rick's fans. One of his fans here even tried that kind of tactic on a thread about Perry's low poll numbers among N.J. Republicans. The Perrybot claimed they all must “hate Christians”.

Can you believe these people? What a sad bunch.

I mean, really, heaven forbid they can accept the fact that we don’t support Perry because he has too many objectionable points and his rationalizations and justifications for his bad points tend to amount to revisionist history and outright lying.

Ike considered Abilene KANSAS his home town. Besides, when some of my ancestors took the Eisenhower's WEST, they took them to Kansas. The Texas thing was an accident.

Johnson was born, raised and elected to the House, Senate, VP and President from Texas. He was in the Navy Reserve during WWII.

Then there was the migrant George H W Bush who served as a Navy Aviator during WWII, managed to survive getting shot down as the youngest Navy pilot in history (right?) and went on to become a Texas Congressman, then Vice President and President.

I think you confused him with Henry Cabot Lodge or something.

Then, finally there's George Bush who did served in the Texas Air National Guard as a pilot.

The differences here are where these men considered themselves to be home, and was there a war on and were then ever in a war zone. Johnson kinda' got there. George HW did get there. George was not sent. Ike lived at the front, and as Supreme Allied Commander I suppose he was certainly a Navy Commanding Officer, even if never technically a Navy swabbie, and, like others born in Texas but who moved away, he still didn't count it as home, nor was he ever elected to office from there.

You're correct that Perry was in the Air Force ~ and landed on concrete runways successfully numerous times. Which is good ~ can't say that's bad ~ a point I have been making the last couple of days regarding folks who are trained to deal with airplanes ~ it is good to land, and not hurt people.

Always good. Something to be strived for Fur Shur.

Still, 3 out of 4 ~ Navy, or Navy related, irrespective of how tenuous the Texas connection?

” And now you’re violating FR posting guidelines. You’re batting 1000 tonight, kid. “

Apparently the posted rules at FR don’t apply to him. When I reported his posts and put “personal attack” in the info box, I was threatened with suspension for reporting him. And, as you can see, his abusive posts remain.

I will not deal with a community that shows favoritism towards its most abusive residents. I sent two requests to have my account deleted, which thus far have been ignored. My next step is to place my new thread up entitled “Delete My Account From This Shithole Please”.

The obama cronyism far exceeds ANY on the repub side even for the puritans who go on and on about oil’s influence- ill take that any day over green jobs in china and tech transfer, all the rest.. If we continue to walk the “puritan’s” road there will be noone, except some pr person’s pure candidate, like the atmosphere after nixon/ford that gave us that “populist” untouched candidate Jimmy Carter, whose second term we are now experiencing with obama.

Given the nature of off shore hidden financing-— which we still cannot and have not ascertained with obamalamadingdong, other than to to Id his clinton-indonesian-pakistani- connections (which, if he crashes will really come to the fore with St. Hillary in the mix-God help us)this is a pointless exercise, and is laden with lots of outside “help” from ultra lefties, commies, the MSM, the RINOs positioning (like Romney to preserve his MA care legacy and will not repeal obamacare no matter what he says, sorry)trying to shape our primary.

The answer to this is to fully examine the candidates and their real track records- and keep in mind, this is an executive role. Re-strengthen the Congress, and keep in mind the coming appointees to the Supreme Court which cries out for strict constructionists not world legislators. There are many more things besides this micro one, and we are eating our own- and ignoring Reagan’s rule not to trash other republicans.

Look into Merck and Pfizer money— this really is chickenfeed for them, and people are naive if they think this had a hand to any extent with Perry. It did have a hand nationally, and it got us obamacare! The medical industrial complex (as opposed to the military-industrial complex) is HQ’d in Boston and in MA. The place obama supposedly “came from” whole cloth. This is also the location of academic white guilt, national socialism, the State Dept.....in short the fingers of HAAAAHHHVARD. Lord, save us from these dangerous anti-Constitutionalists.
Deo Vindice and good day.

I would be interested to list all the candidates lies. Please. Candidates market themselves— there is a medicine show aspect to it at times. But leadership shows.

Care to list Ronald Reagan’s lies?
He, too, was a democrat. A Hollywood union leader democrat, remember? Or maybe one is/was a Perotista? Or a RINO or a DINO in camo. Chameleons.

There certainly is a lot of chaff to sort through. Sort it, logically and cogently. This is just a blog— real people have real outcomes from all this.

So, what paragon of virtue of political history is held up as a saint for our party, or for conservatives, RINOs, CINOs or DINOs?

Newt?
Perot?
Zell Miller?
McCain?
Strom Thurmond?
Averill Harriman?
Prescott Bush?
Teddy Roosevelt?
George McClellan?
U.S. Grant?
John Breckenridge?
James Buchanan?
Lincoln?

Please.
We have a Constitution and our country to keep in mind- which our dear current obamalamadingdong would have us ignore, and permanently alter.

Perry is not GW Bush (cause Bush is not a Texan, ie from a real former Republic). These are very important points not for the faint of heart, and uh, that would exclude any country club RINO or DINO from the get go.

DO NOT ELECT ME TO HIGH OFFICE!!

I don’t have the tolerance for cheap shot tactics and deception that would prevent me from commissioning hit squads.

Jus’ sayin’...

Oddly enough, Perry wasn’t my first choice amongst the early candidates but the tactics against him offended my sense of fair play and justice, so I used fire against fire.

These posts of yours are awfully longwinded considering their lack of substance. All I see from you are moral relativism and pathetic excuses mixed in with various indecipherable nonsense.

No, what I described for you is a historically accurate description of Ronald Reagan. You do know he was a lifelong democrat, right? A New Deal democrat at that. And, one can get one’s mind around the thought provoking changes he experienced and voiced as he grew into a true conservative by reading his writings and listening to his great speeches.

There is no way Ronald Reagan would tolerate Romney (and indeed did not tolerate his dad), and I might add that, since George H.W.Bush led us, in one term,to Bill Clinton’s nightmare and then Bush II (argyle socks and cowboy boots- all hat and no cattle)they have all dismantled what the great Ronald Reagan set in motion. And all, especially Clinton, are why we are now here with obamalamadingdong. It is a true republic we need- and a last great true hope.

I don’t work for Perry nor represent him in any fashion. I listen and read the candidates statements. I also have the ability to discern BS from RINOs, DINOs and many others, through long years of hands on, in the trenches conservative political experience. We do not need another MA “conservative” who will not disavow national healthcare on the MA model. Period. Deo Vindice.
