Perry: Wrong then or wrong now
September 14, 2011 | Vanity

Posted on 09/14/2011 5:34:41 PM PDT by MN_Mike

Many supporters of Gov. Perry have come to his defense over this Gardasil matter. The arguments are: (1) Gardasil should have been mandatory with the "opt-out" provision; (2) No big deal because the Texas legislature killed the Executive Order; or (3) as Perry says today, he made a mistake, should have made it "opt-in." Now comes word that Perry's top donor was the Republican Governors Association and that Merck began donating to RGA when Perry became its head.

I don’t like his decision here by Perry either, but persepctive is in order unless you can find a pattern over ten years of similar events, slow down.

The only people who want to move quickly are Perry's people trying to protect his record from scrutiny.

He's got a pattern over at least ten years of arrogantly open deals like the Gardasil deal. He's even got a Rezko-like land deal in his past. He's funneled millions in taxpayer funds to a bunch of big donors.

I've been posting links throughout this thread about all of it.

Sarah shared a border with Russia AND Canada

And Russians and Canadians flooding across the border fleeing a civil war with narco-terrorist taking place on her borders has been a real problem for Alaska. Please.

My God, do you understand that we are taking fire in this state literally. They shoot at our cops, they try to shoot down our helicopters including one that had our Governor in it, Texans are dodging gun fire while sitting in their office buildings. The rest of the country is bitching about it but we're living it. These people coming across our border are refugees. The rest of the world gets help from the US and the UN when this happens, here in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California all we get are lies and criticism.  So until the rest of the country gets up and helps us they can shut the hell up about how we handle it.

We're Americans down here too, why isn't the rest of the country rising up and marching on the White House! We're doing our damnedest to keep them out, it's our Rangers who are on the border, it's our cops chasing the drug dealers, it's our jails holding them and it's our hospitals healing them. I have yet to hear of one governor anywhere in this country offering to send some money to help us. And the one guy who is running who is actually in the fight is the guy you want to accuse of being on the wrong side?

Texas shares a border with Mexico and the United States.

How dare you. Texans have spilled just as much blood for this country as any other state. Maybe even more than most. We love our country more than life in Texas and we have had more than our share of Texans prove that to be literally true.

Before we run another one of their boys for President they're going to have to figure out they are part of the United States first.

How dare you again. You may not remember this but the last Texan we sent to restore this Nation wore the uniform of this country, and then risked everything he had to protect this country. You may not like that Bush went left on the fiscal side, I don't either, but how dare you question his Patriotism. Shame on you!

The guy we're considering to let you borrow now wore the uniform of this country and is still in the fight. It's not just Mexicans coming across that border. Get up! Help us! Do something to help us and then critisize the way we are doing it, we would be glad to have your input. But until you do, don't criticize us on the front.

Regarding your immigration problems the last three Texans to serve as President of the United States really mucked everything up.

Why should we trust you to send a fourth one in?

BTW, my ancestors were hauling migrants down to Texas when it was still part of Mexico ~ and maybe even when it was still part of Spain!

Yup. It’s gonna continue to be ugly until we finally get him and that other buffoon from Massachusetts out of the race. Palin can’t get in soon enough for me.

A good question for you ~ why is it all the Texas Presidents have been Navy boys instead of US Army Infantrymen?

Could that be the source of what seems to be their common problem with the border?

The way some here are attacking Merck they sound like democraps. Big Pharma, Big Oil, blah blah blah. Gardisol protects against the most common cause of cervical cancer. My daughter had her girls given the vaccine on the recommendation of her girls doctor and on the recommendation of her uncle a pediatric surgeon. It is effective against these strains if given before a female becomes sexually active. A women could be a virgin on her wedding night but if she doesn't marry a virgin her spouse could unknowingly be a carrier of the virus. I agree Perry should have taken it to the legislature and not through EO. I cannot take Bachmann seriously after her crazy wild eyed behavior on the stage the other night. She had every right to criticize the EO but she jumped the shark with her crazy accusation.

"Wel then I guess you want Romney, who mandated ALL of healthcare."

A difference of degree, not a difference of philosophy.

Well, we certainly have some major issues before us. We need to nominate the best person for the job in countering Obama.

Therefore, I look at it as asking the tough vetting questions at this juncture very important. It is better for us to ask these questions now than wait until the nominee is confronted with them after being nominated.

So, is the HPV Vaccine as important as our economic challenges? Perhaps not. But asking the questions and vetting our nominee is much bigger than that.

Your overwrought emotionalism should be met with a tiny violin accompaniment. Both Dubya and Perry have been open borders. Some of us have to live with the decisions these guys made by NOT enforcing immigration laws. Some of us waited a long damn time on Dubya to do something and he failed us. We can’t afford to nominate a proven open-borders squish for a FOURTH consecutive time for President.

It could be because rather than defending our borders, the Texas Presidents contemplate their naval?

Wow. You’re still here? Thought I flushed.

Great response.

I could say you are a puerile punk who lacks the intellect to defend his political positions but I could never say it as well as you have.

Thanks.

Regarding your immigration problems the last three Texans to serve as President of the United States really mucked everything up.

You're fighting the wrong war, the Japanese are bombing Pearl Harbor and you're screaming, "Remember the Maine!"

Illegal Immigration because people are looking for a job is a low priority here. I can give a damn if they get in right now. It's 100's of thousands that are rushing the border trying to get out of the cross fire that is causing the problem.

Did you know that there are more beheadings on our border than there are in Iraq and Afghanistan combined?

People not living in border states are complaining about losing jobs to illegals and anchor babies. Who cares?  That's the old war, we're losing lives down here, not jobs. We are looking down the barrel of a cannon down here and you guys are bitching about the kid with the pop-gun.

Perry understands the fight, he knows who the real enemy is. For that reason alone you should be voting for him. Is Perry perfect? Not by a long shot. But until someone gets up there and shows me they understand the war we are in, then he gets my support.

Look, building a fence, sending the National Guard, ect, ect, ect, is not going to stop these people, they are running for their lives. Texans, and other border state citizens know the way to win. It's not a fence, we have to end the war. And yes, I'm talking about sending US troops into Mexico and killing the narco-terrorist. It is the only option that will work, then we can deal with the illegal immigrants.

People in this country look at the civil wars that are happening all over the world on the news and they think, "thank God I live in America where that wouldn't happen". But it is, in some places as close as 5 feet from the US border. When border state governors are saying we have to secure the border it's the war they are talking about, not anchor babies. Are they a problem? yeah, but for us it's like being in the foxhole almost out of ammunition while the enemy is attacking and the supply sergeant  is worried about the truck being dirty.

#7, Ron Paul sent you here to SLANDER Rick! [why they think there's a massive Paulisitian conspircy to "get" Perry makes no sense due to A) Paul supporters equally despise ANYONE who's not Ron Paul, and B) Paul trolls get zotted from FR fairly quickly, never-the-less this is a major talking point for Perry shills]

#8, Sarah Palin endorsed him [for Governor, not for President, but they won't mention that], so shut up!

#9, He's the ONLY electable conservative - because we say he is!!!

#10, And just who do YOU support?? [this "question" is an attempt to "prove" the freeper questioning St. Rick is either a Ron Paul supporter or will only acceptable Sarah Palin. If you answer otherwise, they will simply ignore the remainder of your posts]

Oh?

What part of I’m going to vote for whomever gets the nomination didn’t you understand?

If it’s Perry, then I’ll be happy to vote to send a Texan to oust Obama from the white house.

If it’s a frickin alien from outer space, I’ll be happy to vote to send an alien from outer space to oust Obama...

It’s funny how rabid you antiPerrybots are...

Here’s a rag, how about you wipe the froth form the corner of your mouth.
