A coalition of civil rights groups will file documents with the Department of Justice tomorrow accusing Texas Gov. Rick Perry of intentionally discriminating against black and Hispanic voters by backing and signing a strict new voter identification law earlier this year.
Voter ID has emerged as an increasingly hard-fought partisan issue, with Republicans across the country pushing laws they say will combat possible vote fraud, while Democrats say their real effect will be to keep voters who don't have ID - mostly the poor - away. The new law requires voters to show drivers licenses, passports, or other federal or state identification; old rules permitted voters to show utility bills and other common documents.
The Texas law, known as SB14, âis a part of the largest legislative effort to turn back the clock on voting rights in our nation in over a century,â said Advancement Project co-director Judith Browne Dianis, in a statement shared with POLITICO and co-signed by the American Civil Liberties Union and several other groups.

Perry ping
“Civil rights” groups are a real pain in the @$$. Those commie maggots should be forced to find a real job or thrown in jail until they do.
b.s.
This is a ‘civil’ violation of the law like illegally entering the country right? No big deal ...
This is such *** awful BS. When are we, the normal people, going to start counter suing these groups? How do we even start?
"Oh no! Don't throw me in that briar patch!"
The Communists are really coming out of the woodwork these days, aren’t they...
Sure voter fraud is a myth....Donks would never be involved in voter fraud....nah. http://www.dallasnews.com/news/community-news/dallas/headlines/20110913-four-more-members-of-medrano-family-indicted-in-2010-illegal-voting-probe.ece
The "poor" don't need ID to buy a gun?
The "poor" don't need ID at the airport?
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.
This kind of “Civil Rights” group are the ones building to the election that ends all other elections.
if someone is too stupid to figure out how to get an id legally, or illegally for that matter, they are too stupid to vote.
Apparently, insisting upon honesty “discriminates” against Blacks and Hispanics.
Perhaps this says more about Blacks and Hispanics than it does about Perry.
The “soft bigotry of low expectations” strikes again.
Looks like they’re pilin’ on. Perry’s going to have to show how tough he can be after all this trash-talk.
Only criminals hate Voter ID.
Explains the defiance.
Question. Are )bam’s unions repairing voting machines?
I know I read that somewhere. If so that info needs to go viral.
But...But...he’s supposed to be a RINO...just ask the Palin people.
One of his better decisions. Stopping voter fraud should be the goal of every state’s chief executive, but most are scared silly to be strong leaders!
Of course. They are against documentation of any sort. The very idea of limiting voting to qualified voters! Oh, the shame of it!
