That's because Cantor is too liberal for Virginia's 7th district.
(Full disclosure: my grandfather was born in Gordonsville)
I like it!
YOU WERE A POLL WATCHER?? thanks for the update.
With about 70 percent of precincts reporting late Tuesday, Turner had 53 percent of the vote to Weprin’s 47 percent.
The heavily Democratic district, which spans parts of Queens and Brooklyn, had never sent a Republican to the House. But frustration with the continued weak national economy gave Republicans the edge.
Ok Obama. Now you go ahead and abstain for the U.S. in the vote for Palestinian statehood, so that you can polish off your last Jewish vote forever. Double dare you. Ha, check, checkmate. Don’t cross Israel and the Jewish vote. It has come back to bite you bigtime.
Way cool!
J W H are the initials carved on the walking stick we have, but I’m not sure exactly which sibling that is, and my husband is sleeping (he’ll kill me for not knowing the answer) so I can’t ask him.
It’s kind of ironic that with that heritage he now lives in Virginia, oh and he used to live in Texas and before that Arizona - all of that by choice, he didn’t choose to be born in Massachusetts.
Meanwhile, from WNYC.org:
10:37 PM From WNYC correspondent Yasmeen Khan
Former Mayor Koch told the Turner crowd, They say its not over til its over, but Ill bet theyre not as happy on the other side as we are.
I said we could turn this election into a referendum [on President Obama]. And we did. You did!
Kochs biggest applause line: Mr. President, Mr. President: listen to us!
YEAH, ZERO - LISTEN TO US!!!

Weprin, David Dem 23,448 47%
One word answer: Obama!
And based on partial returns Nevada is an easy win.
